Hoping for that Rain vs Last semis, quality PvP should be a treat. My prediction is we won't have any one base DT (hah, one can dream). 3-1 for Rain with solid two base play (and one 3 gate vs obs opening), Mini's win will be with some sick one base reaver control.

I think it’s gonna be 3-2. I think both players are closer to equal in pvp.

Horang2 made no use of his advantage, strange play. Rain reaver control was excellent though.

It seems very effective against Horang2, when he's getting pushed, Horang2 makes no counter play himself, and just focuses on defending. In PvP with Reavers or Templar, it's attackers advantage, so I suppose Rain played to that.

Late game pvp is all about army positioning and engage angles.. rain was forcing bad placement with every "attack" he made. horang2 coulda've turtled that game a little bit better if he didnt rush for the kill with the 2-1 upgrades timming.

But he was doing that while it was still 2 base vs 2 base, especially trying to move up that small ramp earlier on. Once it was 4 base vs 4 base, the play made a lot more sense. I wonder what the right play there was. I think just doing some HT drops during the action was the way to go, but idk. At four base and not moving out seemed like a death sentence. Maybe he thought the 2 forge vs 1 forge would let him win the late game.

His army movements are just so beautiful and he's always probing, attacking multiple locations, looking to catch armies out of position. I can say he is now my favorite player.

Maybe he thought the 2 forge vs 1 forge would let him win the late game. he wasn't attacking up a ramp, he was forcing storms + getting few storms to probe lines and ht/goon to soften it up. meanwhile he was trying to attack the mineral only with small forces to tax horang2's multitask.

The only image I see in the finals is Effort and Rain at the moment. last is very dangerous, he prepares well for boX series and is not affraid to mindgame / cheese his opponent... oh did i mention he is VERY VERY VERY solid with standard play? Rain vs Last can be seriously epic.

Don't think many players made that choice, but with his micro it was brilliant. This way he never had to give up map control, and he could apply to pressure until observers came... Forcing the DT to defend versus making a dash towards Rain base.He even knew it was DT earlier, but still built the robo as late as humanely possible. Horang2 was ahead economically, but was still forced to build so many cannons just to stay alive, beautiful. Against any other player, Horang2's opening would have been a solid build order advantage.

PvP'wise I would rather have Horang2 and Mini switch places and see Mini vs Rain instead. Though I doubt anyone right now can top Rains pvp. Just looking at the games, even when he made some weird decisions like attacking up that ramp over and over it didn't matter. He powered through Horang2 and I even think he could have done it while at the same time sipping his straw-drink xD Hoping for an effort vs Rain finals!

Well horang2 made some poor decisions himself, game 3 going 2 gate robo and nexus and then having only like 5 units he sends them to Rain's ramp and loses them all wtf?

Wish we could have spread the ro8 out a little more. So I could be a bit slower in consuming all the series. Rain looking good for the finals. Sharp would have been the scarier opponent. Mini Effort could be surprisingly good. Mini only gets PvZ. Still wish it was Snow instead. Hope effort gets through so we get a mixed race final.

The guy is really good and everything, but i just simply cannot stand him Hes got the personnality of a micro-wave, so ill suppose i hope for a Rain vs effOrt finals although our ''finals'' might as well be mini vs effort, IF Mini is in a good mental state : )

Horang2s actually made a lot of progress given how briefly hes been back in the scene.Let's not forget Horang2 was a proleague player, PvP specialist. He was way underrated coming into this series. With some more confidence in himself he probably could have taken it given that he seemed to get himself into good positions then collapse due to army movement and control. Rain is just showing why he's one of the greatest, didn't bring anything close to his best today and won.

Rain has poor decision making, but Last seems to be wearing a weight on his shoulders. This is the matchup I can see going all the way. BUT it could also be a complete blowout. It all depends on Last's mental fortitude. Ulimately I hope for an epic 5 game PvZ series in the finals where 2 games have ultras vs. archons and reavers and maybe 1 game with mutas/guardians/devourers vs. carriers/corsairs and 2 games have early game risky strats that (don't) pay off but have intense micro battles.

Nice wishes, but unfortunately nowadays the game became so fast and dynamic and decided by the smallest errors or windows of opportunity, that even in a long game, trying to go for such compositions will fuck them up, so its impossible to see something like that in a serious match now or in future imo. Perhaps carriers on an island map

But watching TonDan's scenario, just once, from one of the least emotional ex-pros (like Last or Soulkey) would be worth a few thousand star balloons of laughter.

Horang was just waste of time and attention of every single viewer and what he show is clearly he doesnt deserve to be playing on this scene. Not gonna comment his play is good or not but, he have just gave up with super early gg's in both game 2 and game 3, he showed he want not to play in ASL in an insulting way... I feel sorry for his fans. On March 02 2019 05:58 Artas1984 wrote: When GG was written in the third game, Flash's reaction was priceless - he was so unimpressed that his face was like 'WTF was this''... Go check his stream. I had same reaction, its just ugly thing to do what horang2 did on such a stage.

Horang tried hard to qualify for ASL, to make ro16, to make ro8, so don't act like he was wasting your time - you decided to watch knowing full well that Rain outclassed him. If he felt helpless against Rain then who are you to judge? If you were on stage you would probably shake and shiver and be unable to move your probes to mine. Saying a ro8 player has no desire/right to play in ASL is such a joke. You don't understand how hard he had to practice (for no pay) to get to where he is. He owes you nothing and you have no right to complain.
