I've probably played about 30k games of StarCraft since its inception (yes I do have a life). If you actually do the math it is about 8-10 games a day since release...for you super nerds. The problem I see at the mid-high level is it is too much of a "coin flip" for all races. For instance, I proxy a Zerg with 1 Rax and they over react while I make 2 factories for an all-in. Or a Terran didn't scout one tiny portion of the map to see the Dark Shine. Or let's say it gets to the end game and we both are mediocre control and decide to fight. Should one army be completely destroyed in seconds by spellcasters?
Here are some good examples of what I'm talking about. All these games were today. I'm currently a 5.1k mech only Terran, I've been GM with cheese, but I like to experiment (that is my profile).
TvP (Win): He/she scouts 2 gas, make a reasonable amount of defense then they auto lose because they don't scout the double factory:
TvZ (Loss): I'm playing unranked with this one. Yes, I BM and call the person "kid", please ignore my frustration. But please move to the end game of 16-20 minutes and see the late game disintegration of Terran units with spellcasters. For any mid-tier person they will lose their entire force. Mass Ravens is not good for the game so are things like Swarm Hosts or Mass Vipers good for it?
TvP (Win): The Protoss is down to 4 probes after the first attack which ENDS at 7:33.. There was no economic damage done to myself, yet the comeback potential is pretty absurd for the Protoss.
Again, my quarrel is notwith Terran or ANY race but with the strength of certain units and/or the inability to scout them earlier. We all saw the issue with Ravens...I think any unit with energy and the ability to cause damage should be re-examined. I also think we need to re-consider "resource dumps". For instance the above mentioned PvT game lasts so long is because that person automatically made units with 400hp (archons) with the gas built up.
Hypothetically...what unit would Terran make if they were in the same situation?
Here is one more where Zerg Overreacts and (he/she scouted) but still lost:
Please remember the title of this thread before comment! This is mid-high level to low GM. We are not perfect, but we love the game. This post is to facilitate new players to the scene by not being discouraged. Many of the replays I posted would discourage many players from experimenting with this game.
