Socke (3rd MLG Raleigh; 20th on EU) Fenix (IEM NY winner; 20th on NA) Sen (the Taiwanese player from Blizzcon) HDstarcraft (yes, the caster) allaboutyou (3rd on NA) Attero (143rd on NA) Bubba (147th on NA) Zelniq (24th on NA) Axslav (12th on NA) StrifeCro (9th on NA) ZpuX (Swedish player) nrg.dde (8th on NA) nrg.kvz (178th on NA) nrg.vibe (25th on NA) nrg.ahhboxxah (46th on NA) Jobless (83rd on NA) petzergling (121st on NA) Rigid (32nd on NA)
Nice to see all the big names in the foreigner's scene except for some EU players. Interesting to see Zpux and Socke but not White-Ra, Demuslim, or Dimaga. I wasn't following the MLG too closely so I guess they didn't qualify? Ah wells, good games all around still. Hope Sen and Tyler can do well .

There is no qualification for MLG, it is an open tournament with some invites. Since passes for the SC2 tournament were available as late as last week, those players are just choosing not to go, which is too bad. Regardless, it should be the best MLG yet!
Holy crap, there are so many really good players that aren't getting seeded afaik. I think things are going to get nasty fast.
These are the players I am looking forward to seeing the results of (not because i necessarily expect them to do super well, but I'm just interested in seeing how they settle in amongst the rest):
I really hope at least one ReSpOnSe game is streamed!
Also, LOVING Fall 2k10! This weekend - MLG, then right after on the ninth, paper launch of the GX 580, next saturday, GSL PreS2 finals, damn! Good times to be a nerd!
wow look at the list who is going without points. EG.Axslav,EG.Colbi,EG.Machine,EG.StrifeCro,Exo_dus,FnaticFenix,FnaticSen liquidhaypro, liquidjinro, liquidnazgul,Zelniq,ZpuX,sheth,HD,Whiplash.VT,attero root.bubba,allaboutyou,liquidTLO,nrg.ahhboxxah,nrg.dde,nrg.kvz,nrg.vibe

Indeed, these last few weeks have been amazing for SC2 in North America. Started off with IEM NY, then MLG DC, Then Blizzcon, then EG Masters, and now MLG Dallas. That's 5 straight weekends with awesome tournaments. Not to mention GSL2 during the week in between all those tournaments.

Yeah but Naniwa thinks he's too good to compete at a NA event and will just waste his time steamrolling these players. Like I said, that's what he thinks.
I figured IdrA would take the previous MLG pretty easily. However.... now Sen is going to be there. It's so hard to judge these 2 players. Watching Sen's stream.... he's insane. He plays so fast it's mind boggling. And he actually comes up with pretty cool strategies and brilliant moves that I've not yet seen from IdrA.
Don't worry guys,I'm going to win so you all can stop trying to predict the outcome now. If only I could get out of bronze. Intehface FTW. Will over skill baby yea!!!
Haha how much is the little app factory spending on this tournament?
wow. Three players flying to and from Korea (jinro, haypro, tlo), one from Europe (and then directly to Korea?)(ret), one from Europe and then back (nazgul), one from Canada and then to Korea(huk), and one intra-America both times(tyler). That's gotta be like 10 - 15k, including lodging and stuff? I hope they keep selling them apps...
Well I'm gonna root for him! Go InTehFace woot!! (Starting a fan club) the no named player from Bronze will take it off Huks hands for sure. How many people here think its possible for a no named player to win or top 8?

I'm assuming those are the names they registered with MLG. HuK is a member of team liquid.

HuK wasn't with liquid when he entered MLG Raleigh. Some players register under odd names for some reason, and HuK must have registered as GosuHuK for MLG Raleigh, and it hasn't been changed for whatever reason. You can see that with other players who have numbers (often their bnet user #).
Liquid'Ret FIGHTING! Every time i've seen ret play he has been improving, if he brings his A-game (and i'm assuming he will) he's a really good dark horse to win the entire thing imo.
This tournament is going to be crazy anyway, because of the low number of seeded players compared to the total player pool it's gonna be some crazy sick matches really early in the tournament already imo.
Socke is a gigantic baller. Hope he does well and places near the top.
If not, I'm sure he'll be carrying a battle axe to kill anybody who opposes him. He'll then use the rest as slave labor to row his viking ship back to zee motherland.
Man its crazy how good these people are. It seems like there is no way to catch up to their skill level. Its like as if you can either do it or you can't. Do you guys think that any compentent person with enough time on their hands can get this good? In other words, should I keep trying or just give up now lol
is there anyone knowledgable and willing enough to sort the players by team? being from EU and not nearly as active in sc2 is id like to be i dont even know 1/3 of the players there.
On November 02 2010 08:38 Kishkumen wrote: Oops, misclicked on the poll. Was gonna put Sen as the furthest newcomer but accidentally clicked on Haypro.
I feel uncomfortable being on a list with so many serious players when I have basically joined for fun. I'll still do my best, and look forward to my first sc2 tourney experience.
BTW I think TLO will do the best, it's time for him to break his losing streak.
And I thought GSL was super exciting. This is going to be so huge!!! I don't know who to cheer for. I think it might be a bit of an outcoming party for Ret. I believe Fenix will be top 3. SeleCT top 5. IdrA will fall if he faces Ret or SLush. I CAN'T WAIT.
Edit: I totally forgot about Sen, Axslav, and Dario... Oh god.
Wow So sick, SOO many good Zergs. GO Idra, Sen, Zelniq, Zpux, Slush, Haypro, Ret. Oh yeah and now TLO too. (Even though hes listed as Terran?...that switch was official, or did he decide his zerg wasn't ready enough for tournament level play?)
good luck to hd wuld be funny if he went really far. but good luck to Dario man does that guy deserve a high placing win of some sort I Want to see his awesome Zerg play
On November 02 2010 06:43 Whiplash wrote: VT will be here this time and representing!
I have to root for Whiplash as he's the only player that's kind of known that I've ever played. Even had the game cast by Raelcun and I played awful and lost in 7 1/2 minutes.
Just so you guys know, this list is not 100% complete. If you purchased a pass recently, you may not be on the list. So if you don't see yourself on the list, don't freak out

So we're missing 8 players? White Ra one of em?!!!!

In TLO's defense, he played only two short ZvZ's vs Dimaga and Sen at blizzcon.. You can't judge harshly about that. It could have happened to any Zerg..

Nice, I'm happy to see HDstarcraft in a tourney, Hope you do well man, best of luck to you. You and husky were so helpfull during the beta (that i didnt get into) by keeping my lust for this game sated until it was released.
I hope HD get's far as well. Will definitely shut up all those who say all that crap about him. I just wonder if he's better as a player than Artosis/Tasteless..... his APM and control is pretty solid though
This will be awesome. I'd like to see some more europeans but watching ZpuX play should be really interesting. That kid is extremely talented imo. Sen is a beast he should do really well.
I really hope TLO is refreshed after his Tough Losses at BLizzcon and GSL, as long as he doesnt end up against Sen, I think he'll go far. Tho It's really interesting to see HD play

I'm calling it now! HD is your MLG Dallas champion!
Well he'd have to win two best of threes. And Idra would be up 2-1 already. Ugh @ MLG.
go HD, gl dude. he's unseeded but if he doesn't get a pro he could probably win a round or 2. would be funny if he goes on some miracle run and takes it all haha.

Hmm, for MLG I think it's just a Bo7 where HD starts down 2-1. Blizzcon uses the "two Bo3's" format.
Look forward to seeing all these guys there. I am only ranked 500ish NA and have no chance at getting anywhere, but I think I will learn a lot and get better after seeing these guys play. If nothing else I've played in some big money live tournies before and it is definately different than playing online. Cant wait!
