I think he is the best player attending so he should have the best chance out of anyone to win it, but i don't think we have a flash scenario where he is the favorite to win a tournament against the whole field. Anyway, gl to maru Yeah, that was what I implied, if limply. Getting to the semis would probably be enough for me but I'm just greedy!.

He shouldn't have proxied that hard vs sOs. TY did the same and that cost him his series over Rogue. So many proxies failing today I mean these players proxy because they think it is their best chance. If it actually is might be debatable, but when in doubt i would value their opinion more than anyone else's

Today, the most dangerous thing or point (name it whatever you want) is that only 1% of players have real money from playing Starcraft II. The balance issues. The gap between 10 players and other world is huge. Oversaturated Blizzcon prize pool to enrich the richest players. Useless elite number of casters on chairs. The year for starcraft II was very stingy for fair decisions. Even the bracket has been rigid (they rigged the bracket) and it was the wrong thing only because to fullfied some of your desires. So, what's an idea? (I'm just trying to tell, that the scene is in an unhealthy relationship).

He's been making TvP harder than it needs to be since 2013. It's a real shame that Maru can look almost unbeatable all year to lose like this. It feels like a mental issue more than anything, he doesn't need to proxy every game and after the first two he just seemed too shook up to win.

Hopefully next patch terrans won't be forced to proxy as much because it's actually not that hard to counter as we saw today, too risky. If he doesn't lose motivation he'll probably qualify next year as well.

The only way sOs was winning would have been through cheese or hard counters. I don't get it. Why would he win automatically if it goes to the lategame to begin with? Maru vs sOs was close all year long across the patches with a bunch of 3-2. It's sad that he didn't try at least one time a "fake" proxy though.

Because in those series that were 3-2 earlier this year, Maru was generally winning all the games where he didn't die in the first 5 minutes. Look at their series at katowice, sOs could only hold his own by winning before Maru got to a stable midgame. Even when sOs was ahead he still lost to Maru's macro.
