Welp, I dunno. Good to get rid of sOs (and Classic) but I fear Trap will be very difficult. In PvT he is 53–23 (69.74%) in games and 19–4 (82.61%) in matches since December. Plus current state of TvP :/
Would have liked TY to have more time to prepare too.

I mean jabs at Inno aside, it's not like there was an obvious weak player in that group that TY would want to play. Classic with prep time and just sOs are genuinely horrifying prospects for TY compared to Trap. And honestly given it's a 3 Protoss 1 Terran group he might as well have already started practicing TvP when everyone was at WESG (I assume he did because Dear plays a Terran in the Ro16 and you gotta help your friends). And he still has more time to prep than he did for Group D.
So all in all I don't think it's that bad. "State of TvP" and all, TY isn't doing that bad against Protoss in tournaments either. I mean he's at least been kicking Zest's ass . It's gonna be hard, but for TY with prep time it's still manageable. Like he always feels bad about his TvP but sometimes he does things no other Terran can in the match-up and I wonder why he ever doubts himself.
Shame though, he's the 3rd player ever to go 4-0, 8-0 in Code S but he's not gonna get through the Ro8 without dropping a game or maybe even the series.
No, it was going to be a tough matchup either way and Trap is much better for him than sOs or Classic. I hope you're right, he does stand a chance of course. And yeah the prep time has been much worse on previous occasions. At the end of the day it could just come down to which TY shows up on the day, as so many times before.

Yeah I guess this goes for TY in general doesn't it, lol

Indeed, one could even say that since that loss enabled Neeb to win kespa cup it was because of this that started the invasion of the evil foreigners, TY beating Trap is really a matter of restoring Korea's Honour. Vote TY!
Trap got very rekt here today. Not that TY should use that as his only inspiration.
Edit: Dear advancing to play Maru could be really good for TY in the Ro8 since they can focus on that match-up, but ofc if they meet in the semis then things get bad for TY again.
This is probably the most nervous I've been for one of TY's Ro8 matches in GSL in years. Not only am I not sure he'll win, I'm even unsure whether the match can be any good as entertainment.
Yeah, me too. I'm thankful the match is played during the night so one can at least check the results in advance of watching. Would not be a bad day for TY to have a BO win and a bit of luck.
Did anyone see TY lose 2-1 to Zest in Olimo today? Does it tell us anything?

It was off-stream. Which is probably the best possible outcome for TY. Much better than playing Bo5 vs Creator in the finals. Nothing was seen and since Zest is one of his practice partners (he said on stream he'll practice with Dear, Stats and Zest) for Ro8 it's not like Jin Air is gonna get the replays from him. Only question is if they played real games or just fucked around

Top intel, thanks! Excellent tactics to take the strategic loss vs Zest.

It was off-stream but it has already been uploaded to youtube.
g3 of the series vs zest defintely seemed like TY was experimenting since + Show Spoiler +
against late game protoss, he did not make liberators, and instead tried battlecruiser harass
I think historically Olimo might give some sort of direction to the form of a player but not a strict correlation of how they'll perform in a preparation matchup (especially Terrans)

Well what do you know, TY lost and the match was no good.
