RPGs were never about damn character designs, thats what dating sims are for. besides, this looks really good... Character development is surely massive in a what is essentially, A STORY... their appearance is less so important, but may have an effect depending on what the setting is.

We can all agree that they just want to put more of their focus on XIII-2 and Type-0. At this rate, we might as well label Versus as the next Duke Nukem Forever. Except FFVersus will be brilliant, while Duke Nukem Forever was of toilet standard.

(Release this thing already T.T!) the earliest would be feb, since they are releasing 13-2 in jan, and they don't want versus to overshadow it, since it is suppose to make up for the "not so successful" 13.

The setting looks promising though. hey, you might also ask why there are 14 "final" fantasies, yes? the thing that makes this series unique is each installment is very different from the other but they still have one thing in common and that is storyline oriented, most people hate 13 are actually because of the narrow gameplay not because of the storyline itself.

That is a bad business plan to me because releasing a game a month after doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I can see Versus coming out half to a full year after XIII-2 though. Agreed. There are three Final Fantasy XIII games because each game has a similarity such as the L'Cie. It would be awesome if they can try to connect all three games somehow.

Actually the common is not directly in the L'Cie themselves, it's more like the crystall myth in all three games (that's what they said).

At yesterday’s Fan Meeting, staff members Motomu Toriyama and Yoshinori Kitase were quizzed on a number of things FINAL FANTASY. Kitase briefly commented on FINAL FANTASY Versus XIII, the only member of the Fabula Nova Crystallis compilation still shrouded in mystery. He says that “for Type-0 and Versus XIII we are giving 100% to development.” It should be noted, however that the team has used their know-how from developing FINAL FANTASY XIII in order to create XIII-2 with a much shorter development period, and as such, the reason why it will release ahead of time. FINAL FANTASY Type-0 is out next month, and with XIII-2 out in December/January, the best we can hope for is a proper Versus reveal soon after. http://www.novacrystallis.com/?p=1516
