I'm just happy we're getting an actual core game next year, because this doesn't look like it'll really interest me at all. I wasn't interested in pokémon go so that part of this game is also entirely lost on me.

Do i have to repeatedly catch the same pokémon over and over to progress? I'm just happy we're getting an actual core game next year, because this doesn't look like it'll really interest me at all. I wasn't interested in pokémon go so that part of this game is also entirely lost on me. Repeatable trainer battles to level pokemon could be way more interesting than grinding out singleton fights. The random encounters were always the worst part of the game anyways. I get the concern but at the same time if it's a Pokemon game that removes some of the grind, but keeps in the interesting parts of building a team of pokemon and battling then I think it could be a lot of fun to play. Not that I'm that happy about the capture mechanic, it's not a particularly interesting replacement. Give me Pokemon Lets Snap or something :D.

And again, it may very well be that it's still a grind, just that now the grind is repeatedly catching the same pokémon over and over which is even less fun

If the level up mechanic is the same as PoGo's the game will be pretty terrible.

To be honest, this is such a top tier move by Nintendo by announcing a new Main pokemon game for 2019 This way you can lure Go fans to get a Switch (i'm guessing, A TONS OF) and keep playing Pokemon, once they do that, they will flood over the new Pokemon game in 2019. as annoying as it is (i don't care about Go) it's brilliant

Personally, I think it looks good. I was underwhelmed as I was pumped for Gen 8, but I don't have any issue with Let's Go. Nintendo probably felt that they needed a big Pokemon release in 2018 to keep their sales momentum up, and Game Freak probably didn't have enough time to make Gen 8 so they made a game that's similar but with a smaller scope. I'd rather get tortured for another year waiting for a main Pokemon game than play a rushed gen 8 game that's missing key features. Random thoughts: - Wild encounters - Don't mind this. If it's good, great. If it's not, then whatever. The only difference it makes is that I don't have to buy 200 Max Repels and mash A every time it runs out. Only issue I have is how Nuzlockes are gonna work if I can see every single encounter and there's zero randomness to it. Do I just close my eyes and go? - Capture mechanic - I've never played PoGo, but hopefully it's better than mashing A, throwing 8730 Dusk Balls at Zapdos and hope one of them works - Ride Pager - Hope it makes more sense than Gen 7. I hated the fact that you don't ride your own pokemon. Hey, let me borrow this random dude's Tauros despite the fact that I have 800 pokemon in my PC that could do the job - Pokemon following you - YES! It blows my mind that this feature isn't in every single Pokemon game. How many people have HGSS as their fav pokemon adventure solely because your pokemon follow you around? Eevee chilling on my head is so cute. If they remove this feature for Gen 8, I'll be so disappointed - Dress up Eevee. By far the best feature of the game

Some people still haven't realized that making a videogame isn't the same as adding more production shifts to an assembly line or throwing more workers at a construction project.

How long was Zelda stale for when they tried to experiential with things in Skyward Sword and then took what worked and put it in Breath of the Wild?
