The faction rally activities this week are decent fun. i like how, "not dying", is rewarded. When you die while building up "renown" you lose 1 "unit" of "renown". that's cool. playing skills are rewarded. I thought they said as your renown "stacks" the difficulty of the enemies in the lost sector would increase. At 3 units of Renown i didn't feel that the enemies were more difficult. Overall, faction rallies are good stuff. The D2 Character/Weapon/Armour Progression System i progressed to level ~260 pretty easily. Almost, too easily. Then from 265 to 272 felt like hitting a wall. After ~273 the levelling and progression is moving at a reasonable pace. I think this "wall" that i "felt" doesn't exist. The "wall" was my lack of understanding of exactly how the loot, weapon bonus, and weapon construction system works. I've been teaching some Destiny1 vets what i know. Many do not understand the basics of the progression system. That's bad. I"ve been playing for ~3 weeks and i'm having to teach D1 guys whats up??? Bungie did a poor job of detailing how you progress. Destiny is a BIG TIME console franchise. Console gamers are not veteran, experienced WoW players with a savvy understanding of loot//RPG progression systems. IMO, Bungie failed to teach its own player base. i'm willing to type this detailed wall of text because the minute-to-minute combat of Destiny is an absolute blast.

I have a season pass and regardless I'm more concerned about wasting time on a grind if the game isn't worth it than paying for an expansion or w.e.

me and several people in my old SC2 clan bought the base game for $12 and we're having fun. we find it pretty easy to group up with other people. we all live within 200 miles of each other so i imagine this helps with latency issues. i'm not sure what server we're on but its probably a US North East server and we are not noticing much anger.

This will mean the entire 1st year of content can be had for $32 USD. Day 1 buyers paid either $90 USD or $100 USD. D2 Expansion Pass is ... surprise .. surprise.. $20 USD. https://www.humblebundle.com/store/destiny-2-expansion-pass?hmb_source=search_bar

People who bought this game knew exactly what type of game they were signing up for. the speed and acceleration of price drops varies depending on the game. For example, Battleborn and GTA5 dropped in price at very different rates. Mosey on over to the gearbox forums... there are some unhappy Battleborn campers in there. D2: PC was $26 on Black Friday less than a month after it was $60 on launch day. ouch.

Small gripe, but why the hell are they so tight lipped about the raid? When the raids dont spoil anything from what i can remember?

I'm undecided as to whether I buy it in the 1st week or wait until the Black Friday sales. The way games fall in price so quickly these days the revenue model is not far off of "pay whatever you can afford".

It has been a tradition in Destiny that we literally know nothing about raids other than names, it is entirely up to the community to figure things out. I know, that's what I'm critquing. I think thats silly. Mechanics sure, but why hide the story of the raid ?

I'm not asking for plot twists, I'm asking for a setting and brief overview of where something takes place.

Vault of Glass: mentioned in the main campaign, continuation of the Vex plotline of vanilla Destiny, stopping the Vex from taking over timelines. Crota's End: ending the The Dark Below story, and the Hive main story of vanilla Destiny. King's Fall: hinted at the end of Taken King campaign, ending the Taken King story arc, followed by 4 exotic weapon quests. Wrath of the Machine: continuation of the SIVA crisis story line. Leviathan: this is the first and only time we are getting a raid completely separate from the main narrative, even then we still get a hint from one of the adventures on Nessus. Forsaken raid: we don't know the name nor the enemy but we already know it is set on the Awoken home of Dreaming City, and will directly be related to Awoken backstory.
