People in the affected region seeing this might absolutely flip their s***. Zlef is trying to ensure that doesn't happen. That's quite reasonable. it’s a pretty severe message for sure. given the time stamp and immediate follow up with its false-alarm status, i think we’re in the clear here. and like i said, and he’s gone on to show, he just can’t help himself. this too is something that needs noting, so i noted it. i’m not against making it more clear that it’s a false alarm. though i do think it’s, at this point, unnecessary.

Asking a dumb question, but where the fuck is the POTUS during all of this? Why has he not issued a statement?

I for one am glad POTUS was MIA; if anyone would have kicked the football in this situation it would be him.

The president's poop schedule may have saved us all.

Where else on the weekend?

Wouldn't you rather he be golfing than sitting there with the ability to retaliate to something that wasn't actually happening?
At this point I'm all about him golfing all the time. He can't do nearly as much damage from the golf cart and Republicans can never bring up a president's leisure time to complain ever again.

This criticism rates at least an 8 on the stupid criticism scale.
Also the golfing issue is optics, although that doesn't bother me much anyways. At least he's at his own clubs? idk. I'm waiting for a Foley-beheading-back-to-the-links type moment.
|
I mean, the guy spends a third of his days golfing, after criticizing Obama for golfing, when he did it a lot less, and promising he'd be too busy to golf.

I don't know. reasonable arguments exist for each of those.

Yeah, he's full of shit and so are all his supporters. But we've known he's full of shit for 40 years. While he's human garbage I'd rather the dumb dumb swing at a little ball instead of doing anything he could actively hurt people doing. Let him be a hypocrite, the odds of him doing long term damage from the golf course is significantly lower. He'll be gone sooner or later, it's all about damage control until that glorious day.

Obviously worse from a corruption standpoint. He's funneling taxpayer money directly into his own pockets which is dictator shit. I'd much prefer him to be golfing someplace else. But I'd rather him golf than kill everyone on earth so I'll take it at this point.

Obama often golfed locally which also cost the taxpayers way less than trips to Florida. The degree to which Trump is a hypocrite when it comes to golf is also really repulsive.

Might as well rename this thread to the “Trump Bashing Thread”

On January 14 2018 07:01 Emnjay808 wrote: Might as well rename this thread to the “Trump Bashing Thread” nah, the thread is only half trump bashing. there's still a fair amount of other US politics. and ofc trump really does deserve to be bashed. making a separate thread just for bashing was proposed and denied.

A statement from the POTUS

It's US politics. Trump is naturally going to be central to that, especially given his... uh... particular ruling features. Maybe it wouldn't be so much bashing if he did his damn job without making the world feel like he was trying to push the sand down humanity's collective hourglass as fast as possible for someone with his... youthful energy.

Seems like trump stopped appeasing to NK what bush and Obama has been doing for years and now we’re experiencing turbulence when NK doesn’t get their way.
