It’s been a wild ride over the last couple of months, and things are only getting better. Not long ago, I was working alongside the Liquid staff to ensure a smooth transition for our players, and putting in the groundwork that led to the addition of our CS:GO team. Now, we have another huge announcement to make; HTC will be signing on as an official sponsor of Team Liquid.
This is a momentous occasion and one that demonstrates the value of esports to a brand like HTC. HTC is perhaps best known for its dedication to the pursuit of excellence in design and quality, as showcased in its flagship phone, the HTC One. HTC is also known for putting consumers first when designing both hardware and user experiences. I would love for our fans to embrace our new sponsor and their appreciation in an industry we all hope continues to grow.
With HTC’s support, we are looking forward to bringing you new kinds of content. We will be launching a top-notch video series with players from TSM, C9, and TL, as well as some of the best giveaways in the space. Keep an eye out for ways to get your hands on some HTC products.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Walter Wang and Thomas Chen, Esports Project Managers of HTC, for their desire to be a part of this scene. They saw value in esports and reached out to us to become a part of it. It is our great pleasure to welcome Walter, Thomas and HTC with open arms. Connect with HTC on Twitter @HTCUSA.
Wow what a great sponsorship! TL has recently drastically increased the player size of the team, it looks like the sponsorship side of the business is strong as well.

I still can't deal with this :D
Yes, please name yourself Liquid112 so I don't have to commit sudoku. Cool sponsor, are all players required to flaunt sexy HTC phones when they're streaming? :D
Last year was supposed to be the year of the horse but so far this one looks incredible as well huh. Really nice news for the team, I hope there will be some kind of silly ads like the SKT ones
This is a spectacular pick up for Liquid! What can we expect this will mean for the team? Is this going to affect the SC2 roster and allow them to sign up a new player or 2 in the near future or will this impact more the other games? Can we get a hint?
Reading this from my One M7. Pair it with an UAG case + Zaag, and you get a damn solid phone with great durability, and Minnesota-proof capability; thus giving me the privilege of watching the iPhone's around me freeze and break due to extreme cold while I'm just browsing away. Damn good company for a Damn good team. My congratulations to Liquid.
That's awesome! I've had countless HTC phones (Mogul, Vogue, Touch Pro, Touch Pro2, One M7) and love their products! This is awesome news! Grats to TL and HTC! <3 I had to use the warranty service on the M7 when it went into "read only mode" and it was a very smooth RMA.
Of course TL will get huge sponsors as this one. Heck TL is so great I even bought the teams icon in league, and I'm one that never pays for anything -_-;
Yay! Might be time to break out of the Galaxy S box, and pick up an HTC. Also with all this new sponsorship money, maybe it's finally time to buy a dota team!
Oh my god... congratulations everyone at TL! Staff, players, and volunteers... great work bringing yourselves this far. I still remember (and will never forget) when The Little App Factory came on board as the first title sponsor... You've come a long everyone!
I've been using HTC's for a few years now, fucking love them. Fucking love liquid. Liquid signed my favourite CS:GO player's team. My world is complete.
making decisions on what you buy because of a sponsorship someone else is getting still makes zero sense to me but that's besides the point, nice pickup TL!
really good stuff. I own the m7 right now and its really top quality. Had the highest res screen, best phone speakers, nice case. Had to get over the fact that its a sealed phone, but it looks like thats the trend. Gonna definitely upgrade to m9 hima after this. Would be great if we could buy it through tl or something.

It makes sense to me. First I get it down to 2-3 products, then I can't decide since they are all good in different ways. Then I check sponsorship and I am done.
This is so much better than being acquired by Twitch.
As much as I love Samsung in Proleague, they are going no where right now. I will cancel my contract for my Galaxy Note 4 I bought last November and will buy an HTC One M8 as soon as I can. I don't care about contract termination fees. I will fully support Team Liquid no matter what the cost is. I remember selling my textbooks to get a Need for Seat chair, HyperX RAM and a Razer Deathadder.
My next investment will probably be buying a Nissan vehicle and an Alienware laptop.

Should I make sure not to get an airplane sponsorship?

i don't know who you have as a carrier but i know orange and SFR have some of their phones, albeit super limited at sfr. my last couple phones have been sony ericsson but i remember seeing some HTC ones online
"You know, the thing that really made the difference to my career and got me to a level where I could win TI5 was my HTC phone. It's so quick and easy. No more leaving the computer to use a clunky old landline. It even has hands free, so I can chat while playing dota! It's saved us costs too, no longer do we need a mumble server! Thanks HTC!"

If you do get an airplane sponsor ship, pick one that has good deals on vegas flights!!
So this is where you guys get a specially branded Global TL HTC phone that comes pre-loaded with twitch and the new Android phone version of Hearthstone right?
Probably some software that turns your phone into a webcam for when you are broadcasting on twitch too?
Hopefully be able to get in on the design and just replace as much bloatware as possible with stuff TL fans would actually use.
Suppose I'm a bit ahead of myself but GL HF anyway haha.

Its a bit different if the product in question is a piece of shit, but HTC are strong contenders in the phone market and put out quality products.
Dope! Legit sponsor for legit team. Proud owner of an HTC phone for the past 5 years. Always been happy with the quality etc. Looking forward to great things from TL in future. Liquidfighting!
Edit: I guess I'll plug the model I have/had.
HTC Incredible - Snapdragon processor was made in my home state and one of (if not the?) first 1GHz smartphone processors. Kept this thing for like 2 years after my contract was up because there was no point in upgrading. Finally dropped it face-first unprotected onto concrete and the screen shattered (but still worked perfectly).
HTC DNA - First 4-core smartphone processor. Thing is a beast and you would be surprised by the battery life (I did spring for the Otter Box on this one).

Normally I wouldn't be a proponent of brand loyalty based on team affiliation but in this case I can say HTC makes really good products. Just research what you buy before you buy it (kinda goes without saying) but HTC is a great place to look first : ).
This is amazing !!! A great Brand supporting a great Team ! HTC sponsorship could bring great wonders to the Esport industry ! Thank You so much HTC for saving Esport ! ^__^ Great work TeamLiquid !! All the very best in future , and keep it up !
Holy crap! I just bought an HTC Desire 816 a few months back and I'm still loving it. Great mid range phone. So glad that TL is getting a sponsor of such magnitude. LIQUID RISING!
EDIT : If HTC ever comes out with an TL App or a TL theme for their phones, I'll be the first one the fly Liquid colors on my phone. GET TO IT GAIZZ!
Very nice for Liquid but I can't help but wonder something (and I am sincere - not trolling):
Why would such a big player like HTC invest in Liquid? Is it cause of the CS:GO (and/or LoL-) team that came from the merge? I mean, other than that TL doesn't have much to show for at the moment, right? Unfortunately I don't have time to follow CS:GO nor LoL. From that standpoint it seems to me that this big news can't come from results in Dota or Starcraft, but instead the other two games and given the big platform TL is resting on - the great community.

Aha! I think I understand better. I'm also pretty sure this will benefit TL as a whole, it's just that I didn't really understand where it came from. Thank you
What kinda name is Liquid'Liquid112, my brain can't seem to fathom this. Anyways, decided to dedicate my 1000th post to this here GOOD NEWS xD Woohoo! Go Liquid. This is huge!

Wow, this is a huge day for TL. Amazing sponsorship. Samsung has long since been a sponsor of the Korean esports scene and to see HTC pick up TL is amazing. So happy!
I have an HTC One. Great phone. Display and cameras are really, really solid. Highly recommended, to anyone who is thinking about getting an HTC phone after seeing the TL sponsorhsip.

Thought the main gripe with the One was the camera?
But I do really respect that phone and will wait to see what m9 brings
The One M7 and M8 have a 4.1 "ultrapixel" camera - it does take decent photos for me, but it does have some faults (zoom and cropping) although low light it can really be hit or miss. The M9 is rumored to have a 20 megapixel camera and they are chucking the ultrapixel idea - bigger spec numbers sell right?
Wow awesome news! Even more reason to love HTC, I got a One last year and it is honestly the best phone I've ever owned. It's super sturdy, and it has even fallen in the toilet in still works fine. Anyways, great job TL!!
Already have an M8 and I love it, the camera "issues" never concerned me considering I am not a big picture taker anyway. Love how the phone feels and operates. I have had it for nearly a year and not a single issue, battery life is lacking just a tad, but that is to be expected over time!
So happy for TL and hoping that they can acquire Team Secret in DOTA 2!!
It's amazing that so many people are posting for the first time ever in these forums to support the hype for this new sponsorship, and there's totally nothing sketchy about that at all!

Not unusual, TL prolly has been getting an influx of new users due to the new LoL team.

He's just visiting the page from www.liquiddota.com and seeing 0 post users with a StarCraft icon without realizing they are posting from elsewhere and have a ton of posts on www.teamliquid.net.

You show up as teemo on LD. Sadface, no more epic helmet. Also we riot if no dota 2 team soon. Nazgul teemo and no team is maximum disrespect

Both HTC One flagship phones from 2013 and 2014 (the M7 and M8 respectively) are excellent devices. The M9 is set to come out sometime this year, but there isn't really any official information out about it yet.
