Online is just too competitive for me, once i stop playing for a bit i just never go back because you have to learn so much before you even start. I guess no LotV for me find a partner to play archon mode. as long as one of you knows a few builds and what to scout for you should be fine.

I see LotV as an expansion for a game that's 4 years old. I don't want to be dramatic about this or anything, i have been playing SC2 since it came out, but i got fed up of the amount of time it takes to get back into it after a couple of months out. Its not the end of the world, but for me a game that's 5 years in development should have AI that is able to play that game at least the level of the worst human players. I guess it would be really complex to make that.

I thought the Elite AI was decent and is able to beat most bronze players.

Nothing like BW where you had no chance after not playing for a while. Besides, the MMR system places you appropriately, after a few games.

The only thing that stops me coming back to SC is that you can't have a decent game against the AI. I would love to see it programmed with good builds or be able to play a proper full length game. Did you even play vs the skirmish HotS AI? It was greatly improved. The highest level is cheating, but the second highest level is non-cheating and still pretty decent. If you don't play online ever, it probably will beat you. I'd think it is around gold level. You can't compare the AI for campaigns. HotS campaign was much easier than WoL because you had a super kerrigan in every mission that helped you steamroll your way through everything. HotS campaign gets much harder if you force yourself to play without kerrigan. Oh, and plus the swarm queen with auto transfuse, higher cap on auto lava spawn, and generally changes that made zerg easier to play in campaign.

Macroing is quite easy at lower level, you only need the golden rule: do not bank almost nothing until you have your natural going. Once in 2 base and moving towards having a 3rd, spending is a little trickier to control, but if you keep building production facilities, is not that hard. You can always have extra buildings or hatches to keep your spending good. Mindgames and general strategy is another kind of thing. I think that the only thing you really have to deal with and it's very annoying if you haven't practiced much, is cheese, rushes and timings. But after a few trollings that is quite easy to learn.

I understand your point, but i think i just don't really like starcraft 2 multiplayer, stupid as it sounds on this forum lol. I find it too stressful and unpleasant. Its more of a test, or a competition, than a game - and i'm a gamer, not a competitor. I think my minds made up on that front. I don't expect Blizzard to make massive ai improvements, but it would nice for gamers like me that's all. On April 08 2015 17:40 Caladan wrote: Did you even play vs the skirmish HotS AI? Its too predictable though with the 10 minute timing attacks + expand. The unit comp is ridiculous too. I've attacked a protoss AI once and it had 7 warp prisms and no other units. I'm not saying it wasn't an achievement to get the AI as good as it now though. I don't know the first thing about how hard it is make ai realistic, i'm just letting Blizzard know that the demand is there... at least from me - for good AI.

In case you have been playing AI maps offline, you played against the AI from HotS. The internal mods that Legacy of the Void adds to the SC2 installation did not contain AI script files.

The BWAPI bots for Brood War are around D+ (compared to D/D- beginner level). For SC2 LOTV you can wait for the Green Tea AI to update to LOTV.
