The fansub team are proud to present our first ever release.
WeMade FOX's Nada and Air Force ACE's Reach played each other on 09/05/06 on Heartbreak Ridge. The decision to subtitle this match was decided by a poll, and Reach vs Nada won by a landslide.
OnGameNet hyped up the match with this
Two people who are dreaming of their revival have gathered here! The Genius Terran, Nada, and the Hero Protoss, Reach, battle! Will it be the Genius's revival, or the return of the Hero? If you can't avoid it, face it head on!
Commentating the game were; Jung So-Rim (정소림), Play-By-Play Kim Chang-Sun (김창선), Color Kim Jung-Min (김정민), Color
How Do I Watch? 1) Download the video file which shall sync with the subtitles, which can be found here - http://tinyurl.com/nqqnbk (Torrent/Mirrors appreciated!) 2) Rename the video file to something such as 'Reach vs Nada.avi' or similar. 3) Put the subtitle file into the same directory and rename the file name to the same name as the video file, with the exception of the file extension '.ass'. 4) Play with your favourite video player with subtitle support. I suggest VLC Media Player or GOM Player. 5) If the subtitles do not show up, load them inside of the program. There are guides to do this for your video player on the internet.
Other Stuff: This subtitle is brought to you by the Teamliquid Fansub Team. Please do not hardsub or distribute this subtitle without the permission of the Fansub team.
Our next subtitle project is of a MBCgame program where commentators raid pro team houses and give them food. It should be interesting and fun.
Thank you all for your patience and we hope you enjoy this!
UPDATE 1 LosingID8 was nice enough to provide a translation of Kim Chang-sun's perspective of the game. You can read it right here inside of the spoiler.

▶ 2009-05-06 Shinhan Proleague 08-09 4th Round ◆ Air Force vs WeMade 3set on Heartbreak Ridge, Park Jung Suk (Reach) vs Lee Yoon Yeol (Nada)
Hello, this is the OGN Proleague commentator Kim Chang Sun.
◆ The representatives of WeMade and Air Force: Nada and Reach.
First, Hearbreak Ridge is shaped like a pinwheel and has 6 ridges. It’s the perfect terrain to slow down a terran push. Although the base entrance is narrow, because it isn’t ramped, from the terran’s perspective, TvP is very tough. In this very same week of proleague, Song Byung Goo (Stork) beat Yum Bo Sung (Sea), so the map score was 4-0 in favor of protoss. (T/N: Since then, two terrans have won so the current map score is 4-2.)
First, let’s take a look at what the terran needs to be concerned with in the early game against protoss.
1. An early probe could get sent out and make proxy gates inside their base. 2. Center gates (Kim Taek Yong (Bisu) and Song Byung Goo have already shown this play). 3. Gas steal. 4. If a terran goes double command, there is the possibility of a cannon rush. 5. Because of 1-4, the terran must send out a quick SCV.
Regardless of what the protoss does, the terran has to worry about a lot of different situations.
Once you reach the mid game, the terran has 4 main concerns.
1. Will a reaver or DT drop arrive? 2. If the shuttle doesn’t come, is the protoss getting a quick 3rd or teching up to a fast arbiter? 3. When the terran moves out, will he be able to move out quickly with all the ridges? 4. Other than the nat, the terran requires another gas expansion. When attempting to secure it, how effectively can he defend it?
Of course, there are other concerns for the terran, but whenever the protoss just matches the terran’s build or does an unexpected build, it appears as though the matches end up being very one-sided. With a little scouting luck and star sense, since the protoss has so many options the protoss tends to have an advantage from the start.
◆ Lee Yoon Yeol builds many turrets in preparation for the protoss shuttles.
In this game, Lee Yoon Yeol was worried about mid-game concern 1, and after he thought Park Jung Suk was going for a shuttle, he built a lot of turrets to prepare for it. When Lee Yoon Yeol first saw the arbiter, he said that he already thought he had lost. To put it frankly, his prepared build went awry and because he wasn’t able to predict Park Jung Suk’s build, the match had already been decided.
Lee Yoon Yeol started at 9:00, and wanted to go for a standard management based 1 fact CC build. Park Jung Suk started with a 1 gate into observer build, but he built his 2nd pylon in the 1:00 alley, which made the terran unsure. If you rewatch the VOD, you can see that Lee Yoon Yeol scouting all over the map with SCV and marine in the early game.
◆ Protoss victory
The location of the 2nd pylon plus the delayed 3rd nexus tricked Lee Yoon Yeol into believing that a shuttle drop was coming. Since Park Jung Suk was able to deceive Lee Yoon Yeol, his fast arbiter strategy worked, and he was able to abuse protoss mobility.
I hope a terran can find a build that has a very good win rate against protoss, other than something like turreting around the perimeter of your base and going for a bachnic timing rush.
Unlike on Battle Royale where terrans mostly gave up trying to fight zergs, terrans are consistently being sent out on Heartbreak Ridge, which means that there must be a reason. Terrans will need a lot of star sense and quick reaction times though.
Finally, I would like to thank Lee Yoon Yeol and WeMade coach Kim Yang Joong for discussing the mind games and strategies with me. I wish the best of luck for WeMade!

But i actually assumed the file is a internet raw so any fill in to proper size would be great.(Pretty sure the re-size was a laps in judgment...) Audio: AAC-HE+PS Varible Bit rate of: 1 "Full quality" ~100kbp/s
This was just a semi quick upload after I saw this =p
I'll post another hard-subbed AVI for the slowest of the slow comps. Lulz I over estimated the power of XviD again quality for 100mb vid came out too disappointing.
I have a super slow American upload speed so it takes awhile =p.
My remaster of the .MKV found a better source just need to time it right on the frames is almost done though so I'll re do that upload soon. probably tomorrow =p
Wow, awesome release. I often find myself wishing that I knew what the commentators were saying when exciting action was going on >>. When was this project started?

Heh... Heh... ;;;;;;;;;
Well this was finished today, and that's what matters ^^
I'd like to point out that no one has watched this yet, because this was posted 17 minutes ago, and the video takes 50 or so minutes to download, due to sendspace caping your download speed.
I'll upload this to megaupload after I'm done downloading it.
OMG this is godly guys .... i really think that korean commentators are the best, and subs are just amazing ..... i really hope that every game would be subbed like the rest of the OSL and MSL , and PL finals etc .... All we need is a lot of translators the rest is kinda easy to do, more like anyone can do it .... We can be just like Anime Fansub groups, even do karaoke Openings ! haha :p

Let's just say we don't want to watch that game ever again
I'm watching it right now and for some reason the subs around 14:25 start speeding up way too fast and don't match up with the commentating anymore (?)
Can someone confirm this so that I know it's not just my computer?
Aegisub decided to replace a 2 minute section starting at around 14:14~'s times with a default 2 second between each line timing scheme. Somehow it did this during editing even though I went nowhere near the auto-timing buttons. Sorry D:

just watched it. thanks so much for doing the subtitle, it's great to hear what the korean commentators are actually saying :D
one suggestion: there were some times where a huge block of text was shown, and then disappeared within a second only to have no text showing for a few seconds afterwords. it would be better to have text showing at all times rather than blank periods.
anyway, thanks again... I know how much work it is to subtitle... im looking forward to seeing more!
wow the korean commentators are so good! nothing against Tasteless & SDM but their insights are much much.. worse i love it! more of these would be extremely appreciated
i've seen a Jaedong vs Iris @ Python and some Bnet attacks subbed are there any others up to now?

This is great! Unfortunately Nada lost though...Terran seems so fragile in TvP at many points, and with stasis and recall I often get the feeling that Terran has the odds stacked against them
This was really great ! looking forward to seeing your next project ! Not sure if its only me, or maybe its my VLC or something, but sometimes there are 4 lines, with only 1 word on the third line for instance, not sure if its intentional or not

Lmao when did he say anything about it being because she's a woman? She's just a bad commentator and doesn't know a thing about Starcraft.
Terran vs Protoss is a hard matchup because for most of the game, protoss dictates the pace of the game and terran has to react to what they are doing, minus a few timing openings.
Thanks for the subs, I'm sure it was really long and boring. I was just wondering why you chose this game?
problem fixed. make sure you have the latest gom player. i hadnt got a new one in a little while. its working fine now... but after playing with the options i now have my subtitles in Red :O
thats how i can rename with extensions in the future. check. thank you.
its cool how they are talking about foreign viewers here. kinna ironic.
it just took me forever to find update the player, i finnaly did it by right clicking the screen, going down to preferances... under preferances it was general and far on the right was update. ill be faster in the future obviously
that was a lot of fun. ya they say a LOT. i always new they did by how fast they talked, but how insightful, the comentary was on top of the whole game. they knew exactly who was ahead and why- AND what they would do, for the whole game. very smart.
i had to go back a few times to read it all
so sweet to see what they say. thank you for all the work put into that- its a lot of words lol.
Tried to download from megaupload this morning, was gonna take an hour. Tried now again, took 4 min ~700kb/s. Seems like megaupload are faster sometimes and slower sometimes
On July 10 2009 06:17 cUrsOr wrote: this is another reason koreans are so good at starcraft! their comentary is so involved and analytical, you learn by watching this stuff!!! w00t!
known fact ;_; thanks for the translation guys, can't wait for next releases
i downloaded and watched this! it is really awesome and i would never stop loving you for it. Some nitpicking: i think it's annoying when the subs cover so much of the screen, it would be nice if you could limit the text to 2 lines on top of eachother and make them appear after instead. Thanks a lot for this! looking forward to the next release <3.
http://www.mediafire.com/?qmmwtom4x2n ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- File Type: .MKV Size ~ 99MB for media fire! also quality lol Video: -350kbp/s x264 (Quality is about exactly the same trust me not much quality to start with i could have made the file 50mb if i wanted with near same quality) De-interlaced and re-sized to 640x480 although i don't know what Korean television broadcasting is in. Thank you very much for this video, clearly a very good choice, how can anyone not love either Nada or Reach?
Very nice game too, I love Reach's strategy.
go TL!
EDIT: Yes, korean commentators *ARE* very good. In a country so many people have deep understanding of this game, they wouldn't put in random scrubs to cover the sport for national network.
I think the pure volume of info in the commentary made some of the time hard to catch up to those who aren't used to reading subtitles. The timing needs to be more lax or the text needs to be more concise something like that.
For all of you who are having difficulty playing the softsubs (seperate subtitles in the .ass), here's a hardsubbed (subtitles burned onto video) avi version.
Until now i didn't know exactly how much of the commentary was speculation vs how much was just them talking it seem a huge amount of it is quality info, it's quite overawing.
Sweet! Great game choice hope to see more in future. Great work by all involved. The commentators are awesome I think it's great that they recognized White-Ra and his skill level.
Fuck me this was great, good work! Tasteless and SDM have a lot to learn, these commentators were amazing, would love to hear Nal_Ra on MBC in the future
Excellent! Like I think everyone else here feels, this is so cool to be able to listen to the Korean commentators. They are miles ahead of English Casters (no offense SDM, Tasteless, etc.), but it makes perfect sense because of the Korean's love of this sport for them to be just amazing at casting.
Thanks a lot for the subs. I can't get it to work on VLC though. The subs and the video are in the same folder w/ same name and I manually did the load file thing in the subtitles menu but it's still not showing for some reason.
Awesome! thanks for the translation. To me subtitles are one of the greatest things. I love how kor commentators get into the players minds and read out the game so well.
the subtitles are great, but can anyone help me find the song that starts at around 00:00:45 please? I tried googling some lyrics but i can't seem to find it since that the girl is talking so loud, i can't hear all of the lyrics and english isn't my first language so it doesn't help T_T>
Wow so great. I'm also amazed at how good these commentators are, i didn't even realise that they can elaborate so much on situation in the game and connect it to recent achievements of certain player etc.
I would put it on youtube, however the subtitles would be really small if i didn't edit the font styling, or would block part of the screen if made larger.
