Odd that Losira went out so early, After his match with TLO thought he was a pretty decent zerg, thought he get to 32 in GSL2.
It's really hard for zerg to get threw brackets like this. Mid level protoss can easy 4 warpgate cheese out top notch zergs on maps with an open natural. It just feels like terran and protoss has easier time to react to all inns and gimmicky strategies.
That's really bad that LiveForever couldn't play in the qualifiers and now is out of the tournament. GOM should reserve 4 spots in the ro64, if not in the ro32, for the top 4 players from the last GSL.

That would not be fair since this is a qualifier tournament to become "S player" in 2011 and those top players already made it.

i wonder if there is a place where we can post criticism of the tournament that will actually be read, however.. It is very disappointing that they aren't just giving the top 4-8 free spots in the tournaments. I feel like some deserving people will get knocked out in prelim rounds that could do well in the tournament just because of a really hard bracket. If they gave out a few slots, it would help people get into the tournament really if you think about it.. imo. Also! WTB replays! However, disappointing to see some of these people get knocked out, esp moon! Really looking forward to moon if he settles into this game, his creativity in wc3 was unmatched imho.

They use the first three GSL seasons as some kind of qualifiers for the next year, so there will be seeding next year (probably the people who got far in the first three seasons) but not yet.
Any chance I could ask why theres two guys listed, one is oGsHyperdub, as well as another Hyperdub?
Edit: Also wow....taking a Standardized test, even as a RO4 finsiher who made thousands of dollars, they couldn't let him play in a qualifier on a different day or whatever, that absolutely blows...
And also, is RenieHour thing legit too? Make round of 64 in GSL, proceed to get addicted to Civ5? ehhhhhhhhh o.o;

Still serving Army (or some kind) or will be soon.
Thats what they said about him last season too, yet he keeps showing up on gisados stream. : /
And? Like people doesn't have vacation from military or civil duty. The hard thing is to pick the vacation days in there, because you kinda cant. So that means there is a chance he cannot play in some of his important matches. Why bother to try then.
So few Zergs . If Cool or Check didn't qualify, that would be disastrous. Of course balance may shift dramatically in Zerg's favor during the tournament, what with the next patch...meaning that qualification is all the more important for Zergs looking to place.

2 days more (worth 16 slots each). So far 32 qualified, remain 32 slots open.
SAT in Korea is only offered once a year unlike the one in US and score is much more important than GPA/recommendations/ECs. Some people even commit suicide for not having good score on it.

At the very least, they should've seeded the top 16 in GSL 1 so that they won't meet each other during qualifying. If they don't qualify, that's their fault but at least they shouldn't be eliminating each other before the RO64.

The first three seasons have no seeding, but results from these seasons will help with seeding future seasons. I agree with this, as it means they can cast as wide a net as possible over the first three months before saying ok, these guys are the best and deserve to be seeded past the qualifications.

It is just Pre-season for GSL on next year. By the result of pre-season, they will make Code S and Code A as seeding. Applying to pre-season is unfair for new players. Even if I know we, audience, want to see our star player, just keep reminds yourself that it is Pre-season for GSL 2011.

Wow, no Tester? I was REALLY not expecting that. With his un-cheese-able early game I had him pegged as a sure qualify.
First 3 GSL's have free-for-all qualifiers, right? From then on, do they take the highest seeds from the different GSL's? EDIT: Ok, I found this. The top 32 players from this year's three open tournaments (roughly top ~11?) will be seeded, known as the S-Class players. The top 96--anyone who makes it into the round of 32--will be unseeded A-Class players. Will it really be like that? I mean, all ro32 players from the 3 GSL's?
Ouch.. Looks like even less Zerg to qualify than GSL 1. Some of those Zergs are really solid too. Losira, Fanta, Cella, Gerrard, Junwi. Oh well, hopefully Cool and Check can get through.

I have my bets on Choya to have the biggest potential of all protoss-newcomers; JangMinChul failed hard to deliver and was NOT cheesed as opposed to NEXGenius; I'm expecting much from NEXGenius too, since DAVIT is already out lol

U sure? I know it's 22-23 october but blizzcon is sponsoring the GSL too so they shouldn't rly have any scheduling conflicts.
22-23 october is on a friday and saturday. I'm pretty sure they can switch their matches with someone else like TLO did with hyperdub I think when he had the chicken pox.
It seems a little silly to not seed at leas the top 8 in to the next tournament, doesn't it? I mean, usually the top 16 is considered the true starleague, but when the player base is in such flux, I could see hesitation to put in that many people. But forcing the GSL winner, at the very least to qualify again, seems a little silly.
This is so cool with the sc1 pro gamers now moving to sc2. Unfortunate that July (=FantaPrime) did not make the ro64. Really looking forward to see how MVP, who is the best sc1 player of late that is now in sc2, will perform. Remeber that the final of the 1st gsl was between to ex sc1 pro gamers.
Also nice that notable wc3 players (Lyn qualified, Moon did not qualify) join the game.

Yeah "yi" doesn't exist in Korean. Only yo, ya, yu, yeh, yoo. You literally can't write "yi." There isn't a combination of characters that can make the sound.
I really hope you're not Korean.
Yi is the same as Lee. There are many Koreans with the last name Yi. It is pronounced EE. Or spelled "o|" in Korean.
The only thing about "Dai Yi" that sounds chinese is the Dai part.

You have not enough faith in TLO. I wouldn't be surprised if he steals a game from him, or the series and boom - you've got a foreigner beating the season one champ. That's not to discredit cool at all, he is as solid as can be.
Creativity can and will win matches from time to time, sticking to tried and true practiced strats will win too. You have to have the ability to adapt to the metagame and the obvious game/series you are playing in.

All I know is TLO plays completely different from ITR and is a solid player in his own right. Let cool take two GSLs in a row before we call him invincible.
What people are failing to take into account is that Today's Creative plays = Tomorrow's Standard plays. TLO isn't being creative for creativity's sake, he's doing it because it beats standard play. I don't know much about the BW scene, but from what I hear, this is exactly what happened with Bisu.
Don't think of it as TLO being "creative"; Think of it as him being ahead of the curve. TLO is the type of player that defines how the game is played. If he stops making these innovations, then people may eventually catch up and surpass him, but that isn't likely to happen overnight.
The true challenge is being innovative and having solid mechanics at the same time. Having a Korean practice regimen will greatly help to this end. I think TLO is still on his upswing, and will continue to be until someone thinks of something he hasn't thought of yet.
I'm amazed at the huge amount of new terrans qualifying, the amount of new blood is huge. Just a huge shame about Jinro and Haypro. GSL3 man, Liquid HWAITING!

that just isn't true at all. Cool is my favorite player (along with IdrA, check, cella and really any other high level zerg, huge bias) but he did not 'stomp' all these players you listed. He ran through liveforever, and Rainbow (Rainbow due to lackluster build orders that didn't exploit early game.)
Cool vs Inca was cool cheesing Inca in game 1 to try and get up in the series because Inca is insanely strong, and P death pushes are ridiculous to manage. Game 2 InCa was clearly flustered and tried to do his own semi allin push that was pretty much a collossal failure. Neither games did cool really exhibit he was some world beater was mostly a bad reaction from Inca.
Cool vs Top, cool should have been eliminated. TOP had all but won on kulas ravine, i think after banshee harass cool had 12-14 drones and no army on 2 base while TOP had his natural secured, thors, marines and banshees. Instead of just massing up a slightly larger force pushing and killing Ccool, Top went for a bizzaro double expo into 200/200 thor push. This AWFUL decision allowed cool to expo and drone like a mad man. Cool was able to get just enough units out to stop the push and with his superior economy thanks to TOP's huge passive blunder cool over ran top in a very embarrassing game for TOP.
Cool vs a very exploitive terran like TLO could be very close. While cool is likely the stronger player I would not be surprised at all to see TLO steal a game or even the series through clever early game harrassment and economy damage. Cool only had to play against a highly skilled Terran that exploited the early game once in GSL1 and he should have lost.

Do you think any player in Cools position vs Top would have won? I doubt it. Lets just face it, I'm not calling him the best player in the world or anything, but compared to TLO Cool is just downright better. His fundamentals are impeccable, add that with his awesome ability to harass, multitask, and squeeze an extra drone or two while hes doing it.

it wasn't cheap cheese. TOP was on even bases with more than double the worker count and army of cool. Doesn't matter how good cool is he would have lost if TOP pushed in any reasonable amount of time. Instead like I said TOP went for a diasterous double command center which allowed cool to recover from the unrecoverable. That game was a wrap if TOP didn't make such a bizarre decision.
As for your question Death- I'm not sure if another zerg would have been able to comeback even with TOP's blunder, that's not really the point. Cool was granted with a gift from TOP, cool did not breeze through him like you had indicated in the intial post I responded too.
I also agree cool is a better player than TLO, but TLO's abusive style allows him to beat Zergs who may be more skilled then him, it's just the way it is. To think cool would walk through and 3-0 TLO's TvZ I feel is shortsighted.

Yeah I'm sure many had no doubt Tester and Top would qualify. I'm sure many thought IntotheRainbow would annihilate qxc in KotB np, or even Cool in the GSL. Everyone expected Idra to at least make it to ro16, not to be taken out by a relatively unknown Lotzeprime.
The point being? The pro scene has proven to be somewhat random and inconsistent. I don't think anyone is substantially better than TLO. Perhaps if Cool bulldozes his way to at least the semi-finals again I'd agree.
Glad to see Idra and TLO qualified. I am really suprised about Tester and some of the others that didn't qualify as well. This is definitely going to be a much different looking GSL than the last time, which is a good thing. Hopefully they start having some really cool intros like the 2004-2006 starleagues :D

As I said, you really dont know what you are talking about - this isnt even an insult, its just a statement of fact and I dont know how else to say it. TLOs TvZ is not in the least bit gimmicky or reliant on creativity, its just straight up play.
And TLO is significantly better than LiveForever overall, and definitely has better TvZ than what ITR showed in the finals.
Its actually kinda funny how many people seem to have this idea of TLO being all about cheese and mind-games when hes got extremely strong mechanics and straight up play, especially in TvZ.
Of course Cool is the favorite, but Dario has one of the best TvZs in the world.

Wow. A lot of you really have bad judgement on player skill. I understand Cool won GSL and he's definitely in the top 3 zerg in the world but... TLO's TvZ is VERY solid and scary. His build is a bit different but it's a build that keeps heavy pressure with a lot of twists. Which is the exactly the type of terran that all zergs cry imba about. All the TvZ matches Cool played were thrown away by the Terran player. Now I'm not saying TLO would beat Cool, but I'm saying his style and play has a VERY strong chance, much more so than LiveForever or HopeTorture.
To speak so definitively of how you think a certain matchup would be between two players that haven't played each other in a tournament format is, beyond ridiculous. Having a favorite is one thing, thinking you know the results of a match that has never happened is kind of like a bunch of kids on a schoolyard talking about what would happen if their all their dads had this huge brawl and how each of their fathers are so much better than all the other kids dads .

28/20/15 is about the division Blizzard gave us in the Patch 1.1 press release.
Protoss are played 38.5% of the time. Terran are played 38.0% of the time. Zerg are played 23.5% of the time.
So this amount of Zerg was to be expected. Although I for one would not have complained if we had more I just hope we don't loose as many in the Ro64 this time. Always more fun to see different racial match-ups compared to TvT's.

No, it's gonna be TvT because Boxer will play against TLO there!!! Go both of you!!!
Wish aside, I hope the new zerg players (and Cool) play really well this time. I love to watch Zerg play (even though I play Terran). Cool's play is simply amazing to me.

Choya will be happy that he can now warp in units if he's got a pylon left somewhere, instead of having to use... dropships. Maybe that will *puts on sunglasses* carry him to victory this time.

Well, if you think about it, there are >21 people that could be pointed out from GSL 1 that performed terribly, the matches didnt really start to get good until well into the Ro32.
Not surprisingly, the percentage that made it through is heavily dependent on how far they made it into GSL1.
Nothing surprising. Given the increased attention and the sc1/wc3 people moving over the preliminaries were likely harder this time meaning the Ro64 from last time gets booted as does some of the Ro32. On the other hand the higher ones made it through with few enough casualties thus reinforcing the idea that they deserve to be seeded next year.
I think the reason for players like Tester getting eliminated is that the game is still very new... Tester is by far one of the best players out there, and he alwyas show incredible skill. But since strats are coming out all the time, and since maps are so small there is quite a large chance for a better player to loose a couple of games to a player of less skill.
I might be wrong, but I dont think the general level of ro64 in gsl2 will be higher than that of ro64 in gsl1. I dont believe the players standards will be higher because we have seen some good players get eliminated already, I just think it shows that its hard to uphold a stabile winning percentage.

he played Random and randomed Zerg twice (from what I've read)
I'm going to gamble and say a Zerg is going to win again this season. I say this because of the quality of Zerg players I see on the list. It would be awesome to see Boxer and Nada advance far or even take the tournament though.
For Protoss, I was really impressed with Inca's play too, but I don't see them taking this.
BTW: Boxer plays under manofoneway now right? Then someone (BoxeR [arnc]) stole his name somewhat right?

The quality of zergs isnt higher than last time (maybe a tiny bit over all), and still fruit was the only one getting far. So I dont think that a zerg will win from that standpoint. If a zerg wins it will be fruit. IdrA is good enough, but too consistent. He doesnt pull off 6 pools and all inns now an then to put his opponents off their game.
When will brackets be generated? I cant remember how long in front of the games the brackets were made for season 1, but I am really excited to see how the bracket is looking. Hoping for some really interesting matchups each playday atleast, and that the most awesome players (TLO, Idra) dont get the beasts in their early rounds

Again, apologies if this has been covered, by my search for his name didn't bring up anything obvious.
I like how everyone always says that Idra will make it through if he just survives cheese. Game 3 of his ro32 match wasn't exactly cheese. It was a standard 4 gate into proxy nexus then it became standard play in which idra was out played. Mainly due to lack of scouting. The 7:00 expo did go un noticed but the protoss play was also pretty solid. He was harassing that gold expansion very well.

Those are not correct brackets. Whoever posted assumes that GSL continues offline prelims brackets which it wont.
So it's pretty safe to say so far that thelittleone and idra are probably the best foreign players (minus huk, qxc, and morrow who haven't made the trip to korea yet)
I hope a protoss wins this time please
also I thought the nerfs that are coming would discourage more terran from playing....ugh.
Also, we need a protoss revolutionary. Remember when TLO said that it was good to go 1-1-1? That just completely changed the face of the beta for terrn. What would a protoss build look like? 2 gate robo + templar archives? Then transition into either collosus or dark templar? or maybe 2 gate robo stargate with choices to go collosus or carrier? Someone please teach us how to play protoss.

Irrelevant because all Koreans refer to players by name, not ID. Of course it still leaves us foreigner with the identity crisis since we have always used ID instead of name.

7 players in one of those 16 player brackets are zergs. Gives them good chances of getting high in the tourney. Two ZvZ's is two guaranteed zergs in ro32.

I'm guessing he's used the "code" tag which ignores formatting.
code:
[b]BOLD[/b] [i]ITALICS[/i]
Yeah! The code function isn't supposed to render bbcode, but it rendered TLPD stuff for some reason. I used that to my advantage when making the list. It looks like R1ch or someone fixed the code function, and now it doesn't even render TLPD stuff, which is a good thing.
Looks like the Terran Effect has already begun. I predict that the Terran effect will continue in each round until, once again, 100% of the non-FruitDealer players in the tournament will be Terran.
Does anyone else think Fruit Dealer is the only hope for Starcraft 2 esports atm? Imagine if he didn't exist all the final rounds would just be TvTs, boring as hell. I'm not trying to troll here, but honestly who would have watched all the final games of GSL1 if they were all just TvT?

While T is up in numbers this time around it is important to note that nearly all of the new terran slots come from Protoss. There is only 1 less zerg this time around.

Lines up with what Fruitdealer says about TvP (P needs help) and what Artosis said about TvZ in yesterday's SotG (it's been played to death and Z no longer needs as much help)
No bracket yet. I think much like last season - especially since they are testing their streaming service with the invitational - many details on brackets and actually being able to pay for the service will be left right until day before.

The parser seems to parse in an undetermined order, eg the stuff inside the code tag might be parsed before the code tag some times, other times the code tag will be parsed first.
If TvZ is not a problem anymore in Korea I´m curious how they deal with the various Hellion/Thor builds, that pretty much screw the matchup in Europe. Besides, if they start in like 5 days isn´t it urgent that they release the brackets to grant the players sufficient preparation?

Yes, Boxer[arnc] is the Boxer that was top of Korean ladder. The [arnc] part is a joke because there were two players named Yellow in Brood War and one had [arnc] (a clan) after his name and that was one way to distinguish them... the other being "yellow" and "fake yellow" (or yarnc) which is why people refer to this Boxer as fake Boxer and Manofoneway as Boxer.
Also the fake Boxer was an amatuer BW player who played Protoss I think (iirc). So yeah he played BW, but he was nothing special.

Seriously? There is nothing wrong with TvP. Protoss players just need to stop sucking and get their shit toghether. But they couldn't do it for the last 10 years so I don't see why they can now.

Serious...
There is nothing wrong with P atm. Zerg are at a disadvantage vP and vT, but protoss can more than hold their own against T and Z.
@Disastorm, the only reason you'd want to watch a PvP or ZvZ is because it would be "rarer". If the finals were TvT of course I would have watched the players make the game, not the race. (plus I'd only ever say Z was disadvantaged - the last GSL was very Protoss heavy).

You couldn't be more wrong. Protoss players don't whine as much as Zerg. I'm pretty sure if there are no Protoss in the RO16 you will state that they all suck. Just like the old GSL, TvP (especially before the new patch comes out) will have a significant Terran leading ratio.
Tester, claimed the best Protoss, got eliminated by a no name Terran 2-0 abusing Banshees. That's not right. He and many other top Koreans also have said that Terran is favoured but with their Korean idealogy, don't expose it as much. Don't believe what Artosis and Tasteless said regarding Protoss being the strongest--Koreans were basing that on Tester's Protoss.
Everyone knows that Terran is the strongest and Terran players are trying to confuse others so they don't get nerfs. But at least when the new patch comes out, we will see all the horrible Terrans fall to Zerg but it might make Protoss weaker .
Wow I am very happy to hear about the improved steam and vod quality!!!
I will definitely be purchasing another ticket now.
on another note... 8 matches a day for ro64?? Thats pretty nuts! Lets say all of them go to 3 games with an average length of 20 minutes a game (I know its likely to be less but this isn't entirely unreasonable to have happen especially with the abundance of TvTs we're bound to see)
Thats 8 Hours of matches in 1 day! I feel bad for Artosis and Tasteless lol.
@Junkka: Will you be doing the translation again for interviews?

You're probably right. Too much conspiracy thinking here
I don't have any problems with the Sony Ericsson sponsor ship as long as they keep transitioning the charging/sync ports on their phones over to micro usb rather than that proprietary shit they've been trying to force down people's throats for so long.

ReXZanDarke (whom played his last televised BW match in 2002) was the first former BW-pro being knocked out by a non-former BW pro so far. Ace is the second one losing against Kyrix. FruitDealer (champion of GSL1) , oGsTheWinD , MVP , and TankboyPrime are the remaining 4. It will be interesting to see if they can continue winning.
Probably good predictions. The ZvZ could go either way because it's ZvZ.
We could see an upset though ... Gon and Zenith are good players (Nada is a pretty sure thing though).
I'm not so sure about the ZvZ going either way. Suhoshin beat some random Protoss player called FreeDSL, with hydras and without spreading creep iirc. Meanwhile, Leenock beat the Protoss player "LegalMind", who made it pretty far last round. I think Leenock would be the better player here.
Gon > Idra but I do hope Idra takes it though but since I've seen Gon on gisado's stream he is just beastly as T. Gon's weakness might lie in his mindset of sticking to his original build order. Like with game2 of Inca's ro64. His BO might get delayed but after a push or something else he will continue with his BO.

Thanks for the bracket. I don't know if anybody else noticed but ManOfOneWay should be renamed SlayersBoxeR since he's not using his Smurf ID in the tournament.

Quite unexpected tbh. Although most of the ro64 games were really low skilled compared to the ro32. Still T apparently has it hard vs Z and quite easy vs P in this GSL. Doesn't say anything else but that there aren't much skilled players in the P race compared to the T or Z.

Wow. 1 Protoss in ro16 with one night to go. Possibly 4 maximum (granted inca and genius will probably make it but thats still only 3 and 2 of which are in the hardest bracket with eachother).

So if Fruitdealer/Inca/Genius/Boxer wins their games the race ratio will look like this:
Race distributions and ratio will look like this in the ro16. - 8 zerg (50%) down from 15 (24% rounded this one up since others were just over the respective percentages) - 5 Terran (31%) down from 29 (45%) - 3 Protoss (19%) down from 20 (31%)
Keep in mind though that in the ro64 and ro32 there were a lot of TvT mirrors so the above is not implying any imbalances whatsoever.
Really unexpected. Will love to see how the race distributions will go when it progresses further into the tournament.
Wow BoxeR vs NaDa is more of a possibility than I thought. NaDa just has to beat Leenock, and BoxeR has to beat Loner. Loner will be a tough opponent though.
After watching many of these high level games, it seems as though Banelings need a nerf. I would suggest not letting them burrow. Baneling burrow bombs really slow down the gameplay.

As someone who dislikes the state of TvZ right now, I disagree with changing Banelings. Whether they're op or not I don't know, but they're exciting and fun to watch, and SC2 needs more of that, not less.

uh huh....you kinda hurt my brain a bit. Banelings only hard counter so few unites and still they have been out microed over and over. Thats unless you have fruitdealer droping them from the sky ;/ But bane mines are just fine there very gimmicky and rarely work the first time if they do they dont the second because they will have detection.
Honestly, the only really good toss that got knocked out so far was MC (and Tester in the qualifiers obviously). The best ones are still in, so I wouldn't rely on those statistics too much.
I've actually got high hopes for SangHo, Genius and Inca.
The Koreans seem to be impressed with f.BoxeR (EllenPage) so far :x
Idra terran ?
Slayers boxer is on top due to his popularity Im not convinced hes going to win, and Loner at the bottom ? they must hate chinese people because hes pretty damn good !

Yeah, I'm not so sure about that. Maybe it's an inside joke (), but HopeTorture is also not P, but T. I guess I'll go over all the players and write a feedback to TL. Also, so many SlayerSBoxeR fans voting for him means not voting for Loner, knowing they will play each other today. If Loner manages to pull off a win, his votes will skyrocket, I think.

Let's remove anything that threatens our ability to 1a and watch two blobs do glorious battle like a Fisher Price Total War game

Or lets watch one army crawl millimeter by millimeter toward their opponent.

It's probably like that because Idra played T and HopeTorture played P in SC1.

Winners of the first 2 and second 2 matches will face eachother in the semi finals in a bo7. HopeTorture already qualified for the GSL 2011 S class by placing 2nd at the GSL1.
I wouldn't place big bets on Boxer or Foxer right now ... Pretty sure Zenio will get to semis and Genius will beat HopeTorture to ge there too but Kyrix has a really aggressive and unpredictable style which makes him the polar opposite of Zerg play compared to FruitDealer. This could give Foxer serious problems. And from what I've seen Nada can beat Boxer.
I really want Kyrix to do well. He is a definite underdog but beat some good players on his way up and has a very fun style to watch.
I'm watching Nada and Boxer at the moment (well, it's a break now, so I'm not :D) but I'm wondering if there is anyone who hosts torrents of those matches?
I can't save video streams on this computer, and would really like to have them in the archive.
Got a question, lots of you will probably have asked it yourself already, but maybe some1 knows an answer, or maybe I just missed it when it was addressed:
Out of the 3 First GSL tournaments, the TOP 8 of each tournament will aquire a Code S license, so we will end up with 32 Code S players. So far so good.
HopeTorture, however, qualified twice under the RO8, so we only have 15 players with an S license, with a maximum of only 8 to come in GSL3, which makes 31 -> one missing. Does anyone know how this is being handled?
My guess is ofc that we have to peak at the runner ups: There are 3 players which made it to the RO16 twice: oGsInCa, oGsEnsnare and CheckPrime. But 3 players don't fit Into 1 spot, and there is even 1 more tournament to come, with probably more S-players advancing to RO8 yet again. So, what if, after GSL3, we have 5 open spots left with 6 runner ups? Will there be something along the lines of a relegation tournament?

Remaining players are unknown but speculation says that it will be for those who got the best points (in this case those who has highest ranks after the direct qualified players.
Since there is a possibility of multiple people reaching the ro8 multiple times they came up with a simply system in my opinion. First see who got qualified which as of now are a total of 15 players (ITR reaching ro8 or better twice). Next GSL = 8 more qualified players but it may well be 8 players who already qualified then you'll have either a maximum of 23 different people that qualifies directly into the 2011 GSL code S tournament OR a minimum of 15 people.
The way to determine besides those already qualified is by watching the highest ranks after those qualified players. People like IdrA who reached 2 GSL and got to ro32 and ro16 will be players who indirectly qualifiy for GSL 2011. So people who qualify multiple times for the open GSL will have the highest chance of getting the remaining spots for the GSL 2011 code S acquisition.
Update on the ro4. The 4 remaining players are
Ro4 match 1 FoxerPrime vs HopeTorture
Ro4 match 2 IMNesTea vs SlayerSBoxer
race distribution are: 3 1 0
Interestingly is that all of the 4 remaining players are all ex-BW progamers. Not sure about last season though.

No offense to ZergBong, but I'll be really sad if he knocks out Boxer at this stage. This GSL has been awesome regardless of how these last few games play out.. but a Boxer vs Foxer finals with Boxer coming out on top for the gold? That'd so make my day
Overall that doesn't look too bad don't you think? Definitely looks at first glance a bit more balanced than in Season 1. And overall the numbers aren't too bad either.
I hope NesTea takes it all, muahahah.
What do people think about the changes made to the way length of sets between the 2 seasons also, did it make a big difference?
Also, <3 discovering how to do the little race icons ^^

First odds on XLBet are out and Foxer is the underdog! Will probably be subject to change over the next few days, I'm still not really getting their system.
