All Showmatch's Currently Paused Until Further Notice.
Event Information:
SpazCraft will be hosting a recurring event known as NationVoice: ROOTDestiny Showmatch Series. This is a best of seven event every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 21:00 EST 2:00 CET 10:00 KST. Every match will be broadcast at 1080p HD with professional commentary with insight from associated SpazCraft casters. With weekly invited Starcraft II commentators from around the ESports community.
What is NationVoice: ROOTDestiny Showmatch Series?
SpazCraft and NationVoice are pleased to bring and host a Starcraft II community event known as ROOTDestiny Showmatch Series. ROOTDestiny will be playing randomly selected Major League players of each race, three days a week competing against him for $50.00.
Three Top 200 NA Player will be selected each week by recommendations and suggestions and be scheduled against ROOTDestiny. The weekly games will rotate between each of the races, Monday being Protoss, Tuesday Terran and finally Saturday Zerg.
At the end of the NationVoice: ROOTDestiny Showmatch Series there will be a Q&A with ROOTDestiny also known as Steven Bonnell II and his opponent.
Where can I watch the event?
The event will be hosted and streamed off of Justin.TV which can be found at AscendTV Channel and SpazCraft Channel.
ROOTDestiny plays as a 3950 Master League Zerg, who is know in the ESports community and Starcraft II for his humor, quick wit, his 'occasional' language and RAGE. Steven 'ROOTDestiny' Bonnell II can be found 24/7 at his Justin.TV stream.
Map Selection: First Game; Selected by Commentators. Rest of the maps are chosen by the games loser.
Game Breaks: No Breaks. Commentators can chose to allow both players to have a break after the third and sixth game. However this is totally up to the commentators discretion and can be denied upon request.
Game Absences: Any absences for the start of a match results in a forfeit of that individual game if a player misses two consecutive game starts they forfeit and the opponent wins the showmatch series. Regardless of score. No scheduled rematch. This only applies if the match series has already begun.
If a player is absent from the start of the showmatch series (meaning has not show up at all) after 45 minutes the player who is present wins the showmatch series. If neither of the players are present after 45 minutes of the initial start time the game is cancelled. No scheduled rematch.
SpazCraft holds the right to make the finalized decision.
Prizes:
Winner takes home $50.00 sponsored by NationVoice. Loser takes home a rescheduled invite to the event at a later date. If ROOTDestiny loses he takes home nothing! (Opponents can not win the $50.00 prize more than once!)
NationVoice will also be giving out prizes to random viewers.
How are ROOTDestiny's opponents selected?
The players are chosen randomly each week by using the past opponents recommendations for possible competitors. Each week, one Protoss, Terran and Zerg are selected. If the person selected can not make the date after they already have confirmed they will be rescheduled and someone else will be selected to replace them.

Lol no one is forcing anyone to watch these. Losing 3-4 ZvP is not something to be ashamed of. Good to see SpazCraft and Nation Voice supporting e-sports by casting one of the most entertaining players out there. Destiny isn't in the GSL but there's no denying he is a big attraction to Starcraft 2. Revolving these show matches around him is a good idea despite all the unnecessary vitriol.

why this big fuzz about a mere mediocre player? there is lots of really good ones out there who are better suited for this.
Some fantastic nydus play, some great drops, Destiny crushed the famous Protoss Death Ball. Excellent macro games. Carriers, motherships, storms, fungals...
I asked this in the chat and nobody wanted to touch it.
Why is Destiny allowed to use his own personal stream during these sponsored/organized show matches? It dose not seem fair at all. Destiny steals the majority of the viewers while also competing for the prize pool. At the same time giving no mention of sponsors, or anything really.
Seems counter-intuitive to AscendTV and Spazcraft or whoever is actually taking the time to organize and get sponsors for these events.
Destiny sure has a good spot in this situation... lol.
Yeah, by request and just a trial for tonight I told Destiny he could stream. He has offered to keep his stream off during the event, which is awesome. However this is all about ESports and the end result is getting as many people involved and interested as possible.
It is still up in the air of what we are doing however, when Destiny Streams during the event people complain and when he's not streaming people complain so no matter what you do it will always be miss-viewed. So Steven and I are trying to find somewhere in-between.
All feedback can be directed to SpazCraft through our contact information.
i'm so confused as to why people keep saying "there are better players", "destiny isn't that good" etc etc. DESTINY HAS A HUGE FAN BASE. THAT MEANS MORE PEOPLE WILL WATCH. THAT MEANS MORE MONEY FOR THE PEOPLE HOSTING THE EVENT. Also people saying destiny is bad are retarded. Yea he's not the best but you don't have to be when you have 2000+ viewers at all time.
I think his playstyle and comments on his own games are very entertaining and its true hes not the best player ive seen i still like to watch him play because i can root for him like rooting for someone i know because there are a lot of tip top sc2 players whom i just know the nickname of so i dont really care if they gonna win or lose.
I want to make it clear SpazCraft is not making any money hosting these events. With the said I am happy to hear people are enjoying the NationVoice: Destiny Showmatch Series, don't hesitate to check out our other events.
Seems some people want to see Steven stream while he plays while others like the commentary. Why not have another stream hosted by the event organizers that Steven can use to stream? That way, you can have the option of viewing either perspective and both streams contribute to the total views of the event. You could list both as sources for the event on TL as well.
When possible, i'll usually have both streams open anyway and its interesting to compare the commentator's analysis to Steven's narrated game sense and decisions simultaneously, seems like it could make for a unique viewing dynamic that not many events utilize.
Maybe that's too complicated or detracts from the point of the event, but I just wanted to contribute some feedback that was just sort of lingering in my mind.
dudes he just lost the match against Hashe very bad, the rest of the games were awesome series very close all the way and loosing to Hashe or MInigun is in NO way sth to be ashamed of. THis is really high level play

I think it was only two, and they were both pretty interesting series with some good games. (though to be honest, unless it's just both sides roach turtling ZvZ is probably the most interesting mirror for me.)
EPIC DESTINY TIME what do we need more rage, cover that with some more rage. Whats that I hear you dont have enough BM well were going lay the B*ducksound*innn in the hizzle
On March 09 2011 13:21 Psyclon wrote: What? ROOT hating PsY? Whyyyyyy?
ROOT can't handle how awesome PsY is! Actually just watch one of PsY's videos. He explains it in detail and actually says some of ROOT's players are way better than him but not all.
There will be a reschedule rematch for ROOTDestiny and AZZ.. and they both forfeited so I made it a tie.. Score was indeed 3:2 before Azz had to leave, however ROOTDestiny being late just complicated everything.
On March 13 2011 12:12 hhrn wrote: I just tuned in, is PsY still going to play? I hope I didn't miss my 2 favorite nonpro zerg casters playing their bo7
Psy didn't show up so Destiny played another Zerg. He went 0-3 and then I had to go, anybody update pls?
Also Destiny had a kid? Seriously? If so congrats ^ ^
He lost 2-4 vs xigerbil. There were some good matches, one on metalopolis sticks out where gerbil transfused his 3rd with a few queens to save it from a bunch of infested terrans.
Could you please place dates on the 'game history' section? I'd love to cover this in the Tournament Roundup, but am unable to do so due to this lack of information.
Saw the games, and depressed about them. Too many all-ins.
I wish MULEs existed as time-bound upgrades of scvs rather than as units themselves. that way, without scvs terran can't all-in and still be safe mining with MULEs...
You can only vote for ONE of each race. I will then pick the most voted for players and schedule them for ROOTDestiny Showmatch Series.
Requirements: North American, Europe and Korean. Ranking Masters or Grand Masters
Protoss Terran Zerg
If a player has already played and won they are disqualified however if they played and lost or tied I will "consider" them. Contact me at public@spazcraft.com with all questions and inquiries.
OK so here's the deal. By democratic process, I have decided that I get to choose all of Destiny's upcoming opponents. Here they are.
Terran: KawaiiRice (I can let him know to contact you if you cannot contact him). Why? He is an insanely good TvZ player, he performed very very well in the recent NASL, and he is also a solid macro player (so we'll get good games).
Protoss: ROOTKiWiKaKi. Why? He's insanely good.
Potential backup Protoss if Kiwi declines/can't: NYD. Why? Because he's a featured streamer on TL that no one really knows about, he does hilarious cheeses (and fails hard), and he can macro well. But mostly cause he'd 100% do it for sure.
Backup backup Protoss (if you don't like NYD): Artosis. Why? Let's face it, he sucked in NASL first round. I want to see if he can lay the hurt on a good player. Plus he can show off sixjax.
Zerg: FXOSheth. Why? He's an awesome Zerg, he played incredibly well in NASL, and I want to see more of him.
Terran: KawaiiRice I really have to second henrei on this one.
Backup Terran: ROOTPrincess, Britney or whatever his current ID is (is he sixjaxTerran?) I really liked watching Destiny practice against him and as far as I can recall Princess usually won so this should make for some good matches.
Protoss: Artosis
Zerg: Mondragon I guess everyone wants to see these two play more.
Random: Day9 (I guess he's still mainly random) Another wild card like Artosis and Mondragon and who wouldn't want to see him play for a change?

Unfortunately long story short, I blame ROOTDestiny. No out of all seriousness he asked for it to be canceled way in advanced and I forgot to cancel the event.

Omg, Catz BM - Hit a man why he's down why don't you When you free to actually attend a match this time?
~Spazzer
Catz Manner up brohan, but its nice of him not to show.. else i t would have been 6-14.. that about his ladder rating grudgemadge of both rootzergs who didn't make grandmasters. ^^
He lost 4-2 I believe. I got really frustrated with Destiny's drop play in this series. I think it was the last game where he had half of his force still in overlords while the other half died to stalkers. Had he put down his entire force and then attacked it could have gone over so much better.
