Because of Sjow, Nani and Select. But are they even playing, seeing as they're in Korea?

IPL Team Arena is now LIVE with our first match between Dignitas.Bischu vs. FnaticMSI.NightEnd! http://www.ign.com/ipl
|
hmm. seeing fnatic's roster always makes laugh because its so much smaller than the team they are facing. it's like almost all of them will play in ipl team arena
|
beat that 1-1-1 nightend!
|
Weak from Sjow there, smart play by Nightend flanking inn behind.
|
I dunno what Nightend was thinking of for mass zealots..
|
im sorta new to this format, but are the games played on the NA server? is that why having people from dignitias in korea matters, or is it the time zone difference.
|
Lag/timezone issues, I guess.
|
surprised how few views these team arenas get tbh, i always find them enjoyable to follow
|
Interesting build by TT1 that had potentially to steamroll in another couple of minutes, excellently timed attack by Killer though.
Kind of surprised TT1 didn't go for templar tech (any combination of ht/dt/archon as his gateway count was swelling would have been an interesting choice)
|
cool strat from TT1 on the fast 3rd but horrible map/positions to do it..
close positions going 3rd nexus and 85 probe is just asking to be overrun by roaches.
|
Ouch, Cats just spoiling the final game even before it starts by stating it's the final game. Means that Rain will indeed win over Bling even though that is not really a surprise considering the two players.

Rain too good for the 3rd week running.

There are a lot of streams active at any time and a lot of tournaments also offers vods. Therefore people shop around and watch only what they enjoy the most as there just is more content available then that there is time in the day.
I personally won't be tuning in anymore to this series (tonight was my first) due to the following reasons. * I personally don't like the casting combo of HD/Cats. Not to say that they are bad, I just don't like them. * [Note: This one is more accurate for IPL2, I have no idea if this was valid for the IPL Team Arena.] Looking at the strategies employed it looks like there is quite a big delay between the day the games were played and the day they were broadcasted. * Biggest problem: You don't spoil a game before it airs. That also means that you don't say about the 8th game in a BO9 that it is the last game.
-----
Edit:
Looking at the view count for the EG Master Cup (a comparable event although without the All-Kill format) I think the low view count for the IPL-TA is because of the casters used.
* IPL-TA - 2.5k viewers (IIRC) - Cats/HD * EG-MC - 3k viewers - DJwheat/IdrA
Now before people say the 500 people is not a big difference: I fully agree. However the Day9 daily runs at the same time as the EG-MC does and it has 13k viewers. I think it is fair to say that without the Daily the difference would be bigger though.

I saw up to 5k during the IPL Team Arena stream so I don't know what you were talking about.
Also EGMCS Started right as IPL Team arena ended.

All IPL Team Arena matches are less than a week old.

I really can't stand watching HD anymore. Yeah, CatsPajamas screwed up but I think he's still a decent caster. HD on the other hand just tries way too hard to be funny and ends up wasting everyone's time. It's gotten to the point where IPL is unbearable to listen to whenever he's on.

So sad to see dignitas only field SjoW of its best players.

I was kinda late at tuning in because I was busy, highest I saw was 2.5k hence that number.
Assuming it indeed scored that number the reasoning is invalid even though the viewing count is still quite low.

Pretty solid play from NightEnD so far, but really confusing play from his opponents. Bischu's chargelot attack up a ramp was pretty strange, but why SjoW opted for a medivac over banshee-raven, and opted for siege over cloak, I really don't understand. He could've waited longer to attack and he would've been fine.
And then, why send SjoW against NEnD? You've gotta save SjoW for Rain.
