Most of us still haven't forgiven him after Line vs Crank, Game 3.
As much as I want hero to advance, I think alive and shine will advance. Alive is just too solid to not be in Code S and I just feel like Shine will do much better tonight.
used to like him back when he did well in the super tournament, but over time he's shown mostly gimmicky play with little notable attributes aside from that.
Would like to see Shine and herO, but more likely it'll be herO/alive

@ That poll, how can HerO be getting votes!? His style can only really be referred to as 'sexy'.
Looking forward to this group, hoping for HerO and Alive to make it through ideally, the former because I'm a big fanboy, the latter because he's just really damn good. One day people may actually be Alive fans, we can but hope...

Yet another bizzare perception of TL mass. (and troll-magnet poll) Suhoshin was the most predictable and one-dimensional at least from what he had shown us in the past.
During the Super Tournament: Muta/Ling (no bane) During last season's up & down: Roach/Ling

What's so unpredictable about him?
didnt u barely see him in either tournament? and ur saying he can only do one thing from only the ro32?
I'm talking about the weird (and generally biased) attitude by TL posters. Unpredictable, unorthodox play style is A PLUS in this game. You don't want to be a predictable player who does same thing over and over (like Suhoshin).
Yet the masses think any word that sounds negative should not be associated with their favorite players, without realizing their stupidity. I was only pointing that out.
Edit: Rofl, the poll took out the word "unpredictable" out. Good job, there. I suggest you take the poll itself down. It adds nothing to the thread, let's be honest.

u probably must have not watch either of his serieses in last season code A i guess? his games ranges from 10 minute zvp 1 base to 1 base with mutas vs immortals to zvp's with dronepulls at the 30th minute
HerO PvT seems ahead of the curve right now, really looking forward to seeing him play this today - Also, obviously biased for getting another Terran through. I like aLive but I think Maru's style is more interesting at this time, so I hope that Maru makes it alongside HerO.
So the time is identical all over the world? Either there is something wrong with the Gom clocks, or, more likely, the world has just collapsed and become flat :o
WTF? he doesnt learn it, does he? Aggression is impossible prebroodlord against Terran. These are not free locust, these are drones and zerglings. Just don't do it.
That was pretty un inspired play by Maru... HerO completely shat on that opening... He did play alot of practice games with TaeJa at the IPL-event I hear... I think he's faced an hellion opening or two in those games..
why would you build siege tanks in this position after you scouted the twilight and stalkers? such a poor decision... he should have just put the barracks on the techlab and go for marauders and medivacs and he would have been fine....
LOL, man, people hate Suho. I like him but I think I might only like him ironically because his games are invariably bad. There will always be a cheeser like him around, best to just get used to it :D

I like that he's adding the right ones. Maru hellion dropped him last time they played. And also HerO + blink is one of the scariest things in SC2.

It's nice to see a bit of stylistic divergence though, especially among Zergs. Too many survive into get BL/Infestor games these days, bit of variety isn't a bad thing

He's been putting in solid performances of late. Was top 8 in WCS Korea before the forfeit, top 6 at last MLG after topping his group.
He's playing pretty brilliantly a lot of the time, gets eliminated by Taeja every foreign tournament it seems which is no shame

maru doing the same build he did against bomber on the exact same map some time ago, mass banshees into fast third, economically bludgeoning his opponent. well played
You have a bunch of units sitting on your rally point but you're too busy trying to micro drones around zealots to just grab them and attack and save more of your workers than micro possibly can? o_o
So it turns out 1/1 is enough to stop 2/2 ball so long as you get fast 4th and get spine wall. Hero shouldn't have engaged that base . Just deny 5th I think. Or go into 3rd.
On August 31 2012 19:25 DarkPlasmaBall wrote: Hero... attacking without thermal lance and really botching that attack =/
If he waited, BL's would've been out- and the fungals would've been much more deadly.
He only had to wait fifteen more seconds, and he didn't need to attack into such a heavily-defended position, in my opinion. It would have been a better trade off, especially because the few broodlords/ some infestors wouldn't have made that much of a difference with blink stalkers and decent splits.

Think more harass, multi pronged attacks and tech to late game composition is the way to do it.
And people still complain about MCs timingattacks BEFORE the BL-timing hits.
I don't understand what you're trying to say (for real, not trying to be mean ) but I think it's different with colossuses, should've made that clear. Think Startale protosses do this a lot.
Haha, probe recall...oh HerO. What a crazy game to watch. Was really unsure if HerO was going to be able to pull that off after the failed attack. Great archon toilets and sick harassment....GG HerO!
This game is turning me into a suhosin fan, but I really wished he'd just right click the ebays with the infested terrans, stopping 2/2 is pretty much game ending

Maybe he just cultivates his reputation as a cheeser to make people play overly safe against him, then he just rolls them with a good midgame that nobody saw coming
SuHoSin's game hinged on Atlantis SpaceZerg and Maru not having a turret at the front, which (I believe) he didn't scout and just gambled four Infestors on.
I mean, don't get me wrong, he deserved the win, but it was hardly evidence that he should play for the late game regularly. : /

Looking at his Code S games last time around, and looking at that game vs Maru I think it's reasonable to expect him to attempt more of the latter
I think, many of you are overreacting. So, Suhosin may cheese only 80% of his games? wow. The Infestor play was still pretty cheeky. Nice to see, but not strong standard play. If they get caught, this game goes totally different.

Cheesing is done by all players (and should be to keep your opponents honest). However, if you can ONLY rely on cheese, then yes, you are a bad player. And cheesing in 80% of your game is a BAD strategy. It is like poker, you can't go all-in on every hand. You have to pick and choose your spots.

If a diamond player like me can play a 10-base game, I'm sure Suhoshine can too. Why are people so surprised and thinking a pro player can't play macro game? lol....If you're on a Korean team, you better know how to play in all stages of the game. It's a requirement for being a progamer.

The difference is that someone like Jaedong mixes in cheeses to keep people from getting to greedy whereas someone like Suhoshin mixes in macro games to keep people from being to defensive. Its an entirely different type of player when you compare them.

They are same in principle. You mix two strategies to your advantage.
I feel like that was a bad strategy for the map, and bad luck to get cross positions. The long distance really favors protoss who can chose for his units to warp in either for pressure or to defend, while alives units had to travel across the map to pressure.

There is only one, because to get to 2-2 needs to beat both Alive and Maru putting them 1-3. So in the best case, he wins both, Suhosin loses, and both are 2-2. But head to head is lost, so nothing matters.

That can be a really effective cheese, there's so much nydus area on that map. But Hero caught it in time and is too good to be taken by surprise. Well done by him!
He had the chance to play a standard game against Hero, who is already in code S (so is expected to not put 100% to win). Instead he cheeses him, and Hero says "not this way!"

Then this kind of cheese will become so hard to stop.

That the casters are wrong in up&downs is expected. It would be an anomaly if not.
why dont you just shut the fuck up instead of talking out of your ass? There was nothing wrong with what I said about the gropu situation
Calm the fuck down, it was just a joke as the casters usually spends a lot of time being confused and they joke about it themselves because its complicated.
That was a terrible, poorly worded, wrong and offensive joke. What did you expect? Your contribution was of the kind which drives casters/players away from this community; it sure as fuck isn't worth it.

The cheese relies on not being scouted, not on working no matter what. That's why it's a cheese. What u propose is to make it a viable standard opening, and I don't think that should be this way.

You're the real Khaldor? @_@
Anyway, pretty sure he was just joking :c The casters do seem a bit confused about the groups- which isn't really bad because nobody else really gets it either ^^

You totally deserved it =P
Ahaha, sick multitask TL post Khaldor. Maybe a bit harsh response. However, it must be so annoying for public figures to get wrongly accused as the image created by that comment can never be taken away again. But it will happen anyway, so better get used to it and ignore it.

No :c
That is assuming Suho is line anyway... I don't follow BW scene ><
Line is Suho and Line is in Code S if Shine wins, which is probably going to happen. Suhoshin has been known as Line for pretty much his entire SC2 career. Don't need any BW knowledge.
Ahahaha Suho advancing over Alive. What the hell ¬_¬ He nearly redeemed himself in the game vs Maru but c'mon...Alive is one of the top terrans in the game.
Great up and downs. Khaldor, loved the work you put in to analyse the possible outcomes of progressing and Wolf your quirky humor. I hope they let you guys cast some Code S!

Just wait till Suhosin takes out Jaedong with 1 base. I can't wait for all hell to break loose in the LR thread should that happen.

Seed maybe, but MC will just pick MVP and go out in first round
Haha will he ever learn ? We will see i guess
I think MC will pick a KESPA player, he likes the drama
Yes he's also one of the few who does not get scared playing a Kespa player. Reminds me of the foreigners in early sc2 always scared and rarely play as well as they could against koreans.

I think he would pick jae dong for the hype but he might pick sniper just because mc owns him but then again mc could do something dumb like pick mana and lose

Ya I 100% believe he'll pick Jaedong unless Seed gets to it first. Would be epic to have Seed pick JD and MC pick Rain... only to have them both lose lol
I could not watch today's games and OP is not fully updated, so which games should I watch (apart from HerO's ones, always good to see him dismantle nerds) ? Thanks in advance
Season 4 race distribution is exactly same as in season 3. And there has been 15 terrans in Code S during the Season 1 & 2 in 2012. And back in November last year it was still 19 terrans in Code S and we had 20 terrans in the Code S before that.

not so sure about MC's picking skill. Remember when he picked Polt/Bomber and got annihilated by both?

Nestea even tried to give him advice about his picking haha. But MC is MC i doubt he will ever learn and that makes those pickings intresting.
Suho in Code S makes me so happy. There's just something so loveable about insane Zergs like him. Which is why so many people loved, and still love July, when Zergs decide to just be aggressive, and it works, it's a thing of beauty, because it's so hard to do as opposed to just macro macro --> Hive.
I can't wait for him to fuck up people's Liquidbets.

HerO my favorite player and if it's not going to be him, I'd definitely put my money on TaeJa.
Not sure how I feel about SuHoSin being in Code S....
liquid factor of overratedness, not sure if they will even make it through their ro32, taeja most likely but hero.......i dont think so
Going 4-0 against these players means he wont make it out of R032? Hero could definitely win this whole thing. He is definitely not the favorite but when he plays well he can do it. I'd not be surprised to see him at least make R08

True, though five from IM isn't bad either, six if you include MC.
Edit: to the guy above me, I hear what you're saying but the fault is completely on Alive being unable to beat shine and force the three way tie breaker.
Hello everyone, this is my first post after a logn time reader.
I didn't know where to post it, so i ask it here: is there gonna be a group nomination for code s, round of 32 live? If not when the groups are gonna be chosen, anyone knows?

For the round of 32 the two finalist can choose one tier 4 player as far as I know but the rest of the groups are decided by GOMs rankings, at least that is my understanding of it. I do know that there will be no live selection, that is as far as I know only for the round of 16.

If Alive beat shine that wouldn't have forced a tiebreaker, alive would straight up have beat Suhosin on the tiebreaker head to head and went to code S, as Shine obviously would've dropped to 1-3 with a loss in that match.

Since 2012 GSL Season 1 there are no group nominations for the Round of 32 anymore. They are randomly seeding them per ranking.

It says he was warned at the bottom apparently
He was warned for failing to keep the thread updated. It is the responsibility of the LR thread OP to edit in results and such as they happen. There was a long period last night (iirc) where they didn't.

Why was Probe1 warned?
Probe1 made it when no-one else stepped up I think. He was not able to update it during the play though, which warrants a warning for thread owners.
Also, to the poster commenting on it above, the group selection is for Round of 16, not for 32. Has been that way since they revamped their system, so worry not, there will be fun to be had, only at a later point.
