I do not want to say that I did not enjoy it or that it was bad it just was kinda disturbing. When you look at the GSL I never had a lag even during the finals (without a season pass).

Blizzard isn't going to nerf BL-Infestor any time soon, they even said explicity that there wont be any patches for WoL. Nonetheless, there were no games that included a zerg where BL-Infestor really WON the game in the semi-finals save for one. We can probably thank Leenock and Life for that, however, since they both don't favor the turtle zerg style. The fact that people skip finals just because of the old 'ZvZ is too volatile' BS upsets me. It's honestly stabilized so much since the queen patch to the point where you can almost expect mid- to lategame play.

I personally find ZvZ to be much more exciting and intricate than any other matchup besides ZvT (marine-tank vs muta-ling-bane is so exciting). I was at the venue and not surprised to see a lot of audience members leave after Flash was eliminated and it was a ZvZ finals. The crowd was still pretty decent definitely, but a lot of people did leave. As for the BL-Infestor, there were plenty of games where I saw it won the game that wasn't streamed. I'm pretty sure during G3 when Hero lost to Scarlett he was even visibly upset, saying something like "good balance" to Scarlett due to how frustrating it was that he could not kill her broodlord/infestor army along with the spine crawlers following the army around. I also saw Binski lose to Suppy in a game where it seemed Binski definitely had the advantage, one misstep and his whole air force was fungaled causing him to lose the game (when he was most definitely up on bases), in fact I think it was 5 mining bases vs 3 possibly.

I can remember plenty of games where one misstep led to a vortex landing on all of a Zerg's brood lords or infestors, losing him the game regardless of how many bases he had ^^ Not trying to make a balance argument here, just saying that this game can be unforgiving, and plenty of missteps can change the course of a game in an instant. Suppy played incredibly well this tournament and earned the results he achieved!

You need an army to back up your vortex specifically archons to make make it cost efficient. Not to mention a boss unit. Also vortex in ZvP can be used against the protoss army. Fungal growth pretty much hard counters most if not all air tech.

Are you sure people left because it was ZvZ or did they because Flash was out? I think even zergs at this point agree BL-infestor every game is boring as hell but the problem is "what is their else?" Terran gets bio/mech/skyterran. Protoss gets collosus/hi templar choice later. Zerg gets BL-infestor or a unit that gets stuck in most places including on zerglings and needs to rush in while getting shot from every side. I pray that HoTS will increase ultra play with the charge but you cannot blame for zergs doing it atm.

I can only speak for my the people from my University who came out to the event and a lot of players who were at the event that I know personally. It's not that they wanted specifically "Flash to win", just that most of them were already tired and felt a ZvZ would be boring too watch.
