Go Team Acer! If Acer deploys MMA, Nerchio and Scarlett, it would be very tough to stop them indeed. If only they had a one more player at that level, and they could fill the entire lineup.

i think: Zenio 1 2 Titan Taeja 2 1 fraer Hero 1 2 Livezerg TLO 0 2 Pomi and then, liquid > acer and liqiud > rox
|
C'mon Acer, you can make it!
|
Liquid or Acer to win it all!!
|
Zenio 2-1 Titan TaeJa 2-0 fraer HerO 2-1 LiveZerg TLO - Pomi not needed then
|
good matchups for RoX, still think Liquid keeps the upper hand in the Ace
Zenio 1-2 Titan Taeja 2-1 fraer HerO 2-0 Livezerg TLO 0-2 Pomi
HerO 2-1 fraer
|
Zenio 0-2 Titan Taeja 1-2 Fraer HerO 2-0 Livezerg TLO 1-2 Pomi.
RoxKis has actually a nice shot here, the Matchups are very good for them. However if Taeja shows up in his best form, he will probably beat Fraer and Liquid will probably win the ace.
|
Zenio 2-1 TitaN Taeja 2-0 fraer HerO 2-1 LiveZerg TLO 1-2 Pomi
Should be somewhat close, but Liquid has the clear advantage. I'll be happy if ROX just get second.
Titan has looked a bit weak recently, fraer's style isn't that good against Taeja I don't think, and HerO vs LiveZerg could go either way, but when in doubt, go with the Korean.
Strangely enough, Pomi might be the most clutch ROXKIS player at the moment. :D And that's while he seems to mostly cast and doesn't play, what a guy.

Liquid will probably take it, but I can see how they could lose this.
|
If the matchups were fraer vs HerO, TitaN vs Taeja, LZ vs TLO and Pomi vs Zenio, I'd give ROX a good shot.
|
The match-ups actually look decent for ROX.KIS, HerO can always lose a PvZ, TaeJa TvP is good but not unbeatable and Zenio and TLO are both not the strongest ZvP players. I would be surprised if this doesn't go to the ace match.
|
Titan, fraer and Pomi to win.

Titan defeated guys like Curious or Stephano before, he should have a good chance to beat Zenio IMHO.

Woah how can you fuck up forcefields that badly with this many Sentries...
edit: Guess it doesn't matter either way.

i thought it was a macrohatch?

I dunno but Titan surely realizes that the Hive finished and Zenio had enough time to start upgrading his spire.

2,7k viewers at the moment, still pretty low considering fan favourite liquid is playing.

i really enjoy this tourney, but laid back in my chair, so have to use a lot of muscles to reach the keyboard, hence not so many posts.
good game by zenio, thought he would be in a tough spot after hive being sniped, fourth base of titan at 5 hp etc. sloppy by titan to let his mothership get neuraled there, but i guess he was trying to recall into main or something?
|
Very good point by DeMuslim!
If Fraer had just traded with Zenio earlier, he would be able to techswitch much faster than he was - The fact that he didn't lose enough units lost him the game
I didn't think of that at all
PvZ is such a mess to me still though

If Titan just flies in with the prism and doesn't wait until his penix killed the overlords, he kills the morphing hive before it's done and I think he might have won the game with a follow-up push and constant reinforcements if broodlords were pushed back another five minutes.

Stream lags for anybody else?

Nah, all fine here.
Silly fraer, should have four-gated without the nexus. :D
Oh jeez, imagine he hadn't lost all those stalkers due to bad reaction time and/or lag. It wouldn't even have been close.

Wtf is Fraer doing? Build Nexus and a few Sentries after killing so many SCV's and it should have been such an easy win. I don't get it.

Pretty fun match despite some questionable decisions.
|
both try very hard to lose this game multiple times
|
Same as on Ohana in RSL vs Gumiho, he's great at holding off and performing early aggression, but then he relies on his micro and stalkers for too long, gets blink cause he's great with it and DTs but in the end stalkers just don't scale well with upgraded stimmed MMM. Unfortunately this isn't a BO3 so he can go all reverse kill 3-2 on Taeja's ass.

That match was so wtf fraer thought it needed 6 ggs.

Fun game, very tense. I love these micro intensive TvPs.

@Dgotto: I also think ROX can play way better, but TL is a bit out of their league at the moment. Not unbeatable, but I'd give them maybe 70-30 chances at winning.
Unfortunately Titan doesn't seem to be at his best this weekend, if he was playing great, ROX could win the whole thing.
I'm still confident they'll beat Acer if they drop down, though, especially with Nerchio's comments in the other thread.

On one hand, it's great to see Cella play, but I'm worried that Scarlett wasn't deployed again. With just MMA and Nerchio, the margin of error for Acer is small, and if one matchup doesn't go as planned, they are eliminated.

Yeah, they're decent at predicting, but fraer and Titan also made a lot of mistakes in their games. I don't think they were unwinnable, it's just that TL players are a bit more experienced and clutch in these situations.
Liquid winning would of course be completely deserved, they didn't finish first in the group stage for nothing. But you've got to allow me to be a bit biased in favour of ROX.KIS, I just like them a lot.
And poor Cella, fraer is gonna destroy him.

Taking it to the ace match would be an achievement in its own. Top koreas just skew the balance between teams.

Unfortunately Titan doesn't seem to be at his best this weekend, if he was playing great, ROX could win the whole thing.
I'm still confident they'll beat Acer if they drop down, though, especially with Nerchio's comments in the other thread. I think Rox could win Liquid if Titan played vs Taeja, Fraer vs Hero and LZ vs Zenio.Let's see, may be Rox take revenge You're in pretty good company. On December 17 2012 01:16 StarVe wrote: If the matchups were fraer vs HerO, TitaN vs Taeja, LZ vs TLO and Pomi vs Zenio, I'd give ROX a good shot. Your way works as well. That's a lot of "If"s ROX has a very good chance of taking them down but now they already lost two times one time 1-3 now 0-3. It just seems TL's manager are just really good at predicting the other teams lineup and HerO and TaeJa are just complete monsters in this league. And with Zenio stepping it up they have a third player who brings in the wins. Eh, he won two matches now and lost countless times during the regular season, I wouldn't elevate him just yet to a player who "brings in the wins". Let him get a positive record first, chances are he's gonna start failing badly again in the Grand Finals. Yeah, they're decent at predicting, but fraer and Titan also made a lot of mistakes in their games. I don't think they were unwinnable, it's just that TL players are a bit more experienced and clutch in these situations. I'm just saying TL has more depth than one would think and on top of that the two probably best players in the league. 3-0 was a bit too clear I admit but I would consider it an upset if ROX.KIS beats Liquid. Taking it to the ace match would be an achievement in its own. Top koreas just skew the balance between teams. For sure. But I think TLO is better than Zenio.
@Zinnwaldite: Come on, they obviously had no one else available...
Not their fault it was scheduled this weekend.
Poor Cella, utterly destroyed.
|
Ouch, it really seems the scheduling hurt acer, Cella is a cool guy but this looked stupid.
|
So nerchio, mma, and other must win!

I feel sorry for cella...

Did he lose more than that one zealot while taking out the spine crawler during the game?
It looked a bit like SaSe vs Najzmais. D:
LiveZerg should beat Bly and then hopefully Pomi will beat MMA, so we can end it quickly. :D

Oh, they're allowed to hand-pick the lineups, then TL has basically already won.

Huh? Winners bracket are allowed to see the losers bracket lineup and adjust? Ô_Ô

It's a shame that Acer did not deploy Scarlett, it may cost them twice against the same team.

just out of curiousity: do they mean that the grand finals will be played at midnight or tomorrow at noon?

Assuming Rox win (they look like they will, being up 2-0 and all), I'd pick Taeja vs fraer, HerO vs Pomi, TLO vs TitaN and Zenio vs LZ if they don't send out Sea (who is probably better than Zenio in my opinion).

Lol finally he realizes that Acer may not have had all players available.

Wow, thats pretty huge! It's going to be really hard for whatever team makes it through to the finals against Liquid then
I'd spend TaeJa on LiveZerg, HerO on Fraer and Sea vs. TitaN - TaeJa is not really looking that great vs. Protoss, but crushes nerds left and right in TvT and TvZ. HerO is PvT-gosu but his PvP is really really strong as well. Sea has really weird TvP, but it's really throwing opponents off - If you watch his stream, many a korean Protoss has been stomped, while Sea grins and cheers on the webcam.
He has a really entertaining stream btw, check it

Careful now, it's still a bit too early to call it for Rox, since MMA and Nerchio have yet to play. If MMA and Nerchio have already played and lost, it would be a much different story, but right now the score isn't too surprising since fraer and LiveZerg were probably favored over their opponents.

Oh, Zenio vs Pomi to start, not sure if that's a smart pick since I'll pick Pomi to win everything after the last game. Maybe it was necessary so they have three sure wins in the next games, Idk.
So Sea probably won't play here, too. Or maybe they picked him to snipe fraer since he already beat him in their group stage match.
On a side note, woohoo, ROX just won at least $3,000.

My god, Pomi's performance in this league... D:

Fuck yeah, Pomi!
OMG, fraer vs HerO, I've always wanted to see that!
Don't understand Liquid's choice though. Even if HerO may be slightly favoured, fraer is so incredibly strong in PvP that it's a very risky move. He already beat Genius, ToD, Nightend and HasuObs in MCSL and didn't lose a match, a player is 8-1 in PvP and you send your best player and Protoss against him, can be genius or suicidal.

Taeja macroing hard :/

You just wait until they switch out their former player ROX.KIS.LiveZerg with their new ace ROX.KIS.HiveZerg.
Then Liquid no longer has a chance!
|
Ugh, LiveZerg's Infestor control is really sloppy. Threw away all his Infestors twice.
|
Taeja is just on another level. Terran has to do sooo much. Once that BL-Infestor was pushed out of teh 3rd area, Taeja just took over.

BC + Raven just so good when it finally happens.

Pretty dominating performance by Taeja
|
Not the best control from LiveZerg that game, but the fact that Taeja was able to hold off that big push and then come back was really impressive.

I liked Azael, I hope he sticks with progaming and EG. Its unfortunate that considering all the work he did for the MCSL that he didn't cast the finals.

Funny how Testbug was taken out of map pools because it was too Zerg favored, and this Whirlwind map is like Testbug on steroids. Love it!

Mm, I think LiveZerg played a little like he was intimidated though - Blindly building 5 Spores because he scouted 4 hellions, having army at all of his expansions at almost all times, which cost him greatly when TaeJa moved and so on.
It was a fun game, and I can watch TaeJa play vZ all day, it's just so solid
Objectively, I don't think this was the best game from either party - It was entertaining though!!
|
Raven is pretty good on metropolis in a split-map scenario. But it has little other uses.

Ow, Entombed. Taeja going to 2rax?
Yeah, this will end quickly. LiveZerg isn't very good at holding it.

Yeah, that game was really entertaining for sure! Some people trash games and say they're not worth watching if someone makes a mistake, but I actually think games are often more fun when one or both players slips up here and there. How often do you get to see a crazy comeback against the infestor/BL ball with mass BCs and ravens? I'm all for it!

Yay Taeja, always like to see cool aggressive plays opposed to those long macro games that always work the same everyone seems to like ^__^

ROX came from the LB so they put their players first and TL decided who they sent against them...

WHY IS THERE AN AD RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF AN ENGAGEMENT
I MISSED THE END OF THE GAME, WHAT THE FUCK
|
lol got an ad right before the big engagement -.-
|
What a terrible engagement.
Good night, twitch is acting up.
|
Ad into postgame analysis.. -.-

The lag messed up the delay, so it looked as if there was a an ad played on top of the battle when your stream was just way behind. Refreshing it puts it back to where it's suppose to be.
|
what happened, the second game started and the game had already progressed

You will now incur the wrath of Dinosaur Jones.

I'm sure they ran the ad at the normal time after the game, but since the stream was lagging, it appeared early. It's because the twitch player doesn't know what time you are at in the stream and just shows the ad as soon as possible rather than waiting for your client to catch up to the time where the ad was supposed to be inserted.

Oh Titan that is so painful to see
|
|
Titan making some really silly misstakes right there, might even make him lose due to late warp gate and such
|
Argh, stream is unwatchable.

Hmmm... as glad as I am that Liquid won and as glad as I am that it was TLO who came through in the clutch, I feel that it was way more Titan losing that series than it was TLO winning it.
|
Congrats to TL!

Well played by both teams.
EDIT: i think there is a re-broadcast so....

Finally I see TLO winning a clutch game even though Titan made a few mistakes. I`m only sad that Sea didn`t get a chance to shine.
