People are just being harsh on SNM until the matches start. I guess no one knew him back when there were 10's of thousands of viewers watching BW and he would type play by play translations for the masses and dedicate so much time to helping us viewers out. IIRC he actually stopped for a while because people were being unappreciative then, but I feel at home listening to him and I know he's going to continue to get better. Casting is really friggin hard.

Hah, I traded away Flash to get sHy because I thought the former would get sniped by Fantasy. xD Now sHy has to make up for the points I missed on Flash!
It looks like sHy is hitting chronoboost on his upgrades better. He started behind on +2 and is starting +3 first goddammit Terminator is on my main and sHy on my anti
I gotta say this is a pretty low-level PvP. First Terminator's initial 3 colossus vs 2 colossus battle near SoS's base, where SoS fails to micro his immortals during most of the battle despite Terminator leaving two of his colossus in a very vulnerable position with no shields (phoenix).
Then later SoS not taking advantage of Terminator bunching up between his second and third, moving back and forth between the ramps when both players have large colossus armies. This is called leaving your army (Terminator) in a small ball with no escape path (choke) in prime position to be beaten by a natural concave (threaten both ramps, converge on trapped centralized army).
Finally Terminator completely blowing the final engagement micro - and Whiplash was completely right about neither player setting up a 10-20 zealot flank.
These guys would get eaten alive in a PvP macro game vs the better esf players or Rain (and no, Hero with a case of the nerves most certainly doesn't count).
There. That right there. That attack in the middle is what SoS should have done to Terminator's army when Terminator had it bunched up on the little path between his natural and 3rd, trying to cover both ramps. Easy kills.

On January 27 2013 16:57 MiCa wrote: Is protoss the deathball race? Even in pvp, its a tight ball.
Not when played right. The reason Argo steamrolled SoS in the center in that last match is because he caught SoS in an a-move deathball while his units were A) spread out so far the obs couldn't get them all in the screen, B) all his units still managed to engage in the battle, and C) he got a last-minute warp-in of zealots to reinforce his weak southern force just in time to save a few colossus from falling.
Similarly the deathball is less & less effective against Zerg (fungal) and similarly needs to be spreadout/get a zealot charge off before the fungals hit. The better P never go against Zerg in the late game if they can avoid it, but when they do they try and spread out.
Vs T you absolutely want a deathball unless you're really zealot heavy though. If you limit the engagement of your forces you can let storm/colossus lazers do damage while keeping back of as much of the Terran force as possible, limiting bio damage per second.

Light's game was very disappointing. He's has some really good builds with all ins and timing attacks but seems like not want to play a standard macro game ever. I've never seen him take a good engagement on a max vs max fight and that's how he loses.

No. CJ didn't use any Terran today
But they didn't have to play their fourth. Obviously you can't have all three races if you potentially only field one player :-) But you could still have it in the rules that the full line-up has to have one of each.
Edit: Sorry, thought you said T8 :-) Never mind then.
