anyone have any thoughts on the balance of the passionboard? do pictures need a buff? Also I'm thinking many of the highlighted keywords, the posts are repeats. Should I just combine them all into a single list so I can eliminate repeats and show more posts? But then it's not as obvious what the highlighted keywords are or how it works.

nerf LRs. I mean maybe not count the number of times players' names are repeated? (and possibly do the same with posts) Buff TLPD-ized predictions. else it's good.

What do you mean not count the number of times players' names are repeated? As long as you have at least one highlighted keyword in the post, then every character is worth the same, 1/10th of a point.

Fair enough, I thought it didn't work like that. Maybe only award half the points for LR posts?

You could use a formula based on number of characters that starts to diminish at a reasonable rate for longer posts.

I thought about this, but I'm not sure I like the idea. Also there's no good way to detect if a post is an LR post. I might just increase the base value of a post instead of messing with how much characters are worth.
ok i don't care about this anymore, TL fix the herO issue, there is only one relevant herO atm in sc2
Just use the [jOin] tag...
Nah i am lazy and i don't see why this should be required tbh. There was already a short time where herO worked just fine, i have no idea why they changed that back.

The issue is not here. The issue is that they keep changing how we have to TLPD-ize herO and HerO all the time, which is freaking absurd. And it's fucking annoying to type the [join] tag, at least make it something simple like CJ.herO.

You cannot hurt me anymore with that, i am ok with JD being mediocre at best in sc2 these days
Really enjoyed Rogue performance yesterday, both games. Wouldn't mind seeing a Rogue or Maru all-kill, Hell I'd enjoy a sOs all-kill as well. That said, I don't think an all kill will take place today. Go kick some ass Jin-Air.
I have a feeling that Rogue had that weird build prepared yesterday in order to sniper herO today. I wonder if Jin Air has a backup ready otherwise herO is going to be super dangerous today. I'm thinking 4-2 CJ.
That is a pretty even match up all things considering. Good luck to both players, but more luck to Cure.
I think Cure is a lot better at TvP than those stats suggest. I still remember when he totally dominated Zest a few months back. Holy crap the game I was thinking of is over a year old >_<...

Rogue all kill. Please! Rogue needs this, sOs already done this, Maru doesn't give a fuck and Rogue with his curse in GSL... he's a good player who gives us joy! And now thinking about it - Rogue killed herO by baneling drops and on Deadwing he killed him by Swarm Hosts(with patch).

I think Cure doesn't stand a chance against Trust here. In 2015 Cure just mysteriously lost all his skills and went full B-teamer mode. Meanwhile Trust can rock his PvT well enough to beat a slumping tier 2 Terran.

Brilliant way to start what a game what a build....For crap crap i was doing bit of work thinking ill miss the opening fast expansions from each and bit of harass. Joke turn back to stream and it's over fml Cure xD
Really nice meta-gaming, so many protosses go for 1 gate expo with zero scouting, 2 rax is pretty much guaranteed to cripple.
I should start 2-raxing tvp on ladder haha, how does 2-rax fare vs proxy oracles? 1 gate expo or proxy oracles, the 2 builds I face in tvp 99% of the time.

I go to bed at night, with the image of a smiling sOs, hoping that I will never be on the opposing team.

You kill each other all of the workers, but you still have an orbital -> win.

I feel like if I was a progamer and facing sOs, I'd just pull out the most old-school and ridiculous cheese of my race and just yolo it. I feel sOs is great at executing cheese, but not as good at defending it since he's the one cheesing in 90% of the games haha.

sOs probably knows the oldest and most ridiculous cheeses better than you though, even the non-Protoss cheeses.
I think Rogue said sOs actually played Zerg a lot when they practiced, and that he helped Rogue hone his baneling bombing skills. rip herO.

No that was Symbol and Terminator who honed/taught the baneling strat. sOs constantly playing Protoss made Rogue the crazy ZvP he is today.

Interesting how no banshee was ever built in this game - while in the meanwhile their mere existence dictated the whole flow of the game, but the fight were done by completely different units.
Aww Cure got rekt a bit there. Shame, oh well onto the next one!! Hmm who next. Personally i'd send out sOs and keep Maru and Rogue back for herO and ByuL

How do you experiment with these strategies?
I think a lot on my own, and I come up with strategies by discussing them with teammates. sOs is the one who especially helps me out the most. He knows just how to play protoss so that it becomes difficult, so he ends up teaching me a lot of things. I feel like I keep coming up with good strategies because I keep on experimenting.
Who did you practice with to perfect this specific bane drop strategy?
For this particular strategy, Symbol hyung and Terminator hyung helped out a lot. Terminator hyung especially helped me out because he kept pointing out holes that I needed to fix. I am truly grateful to him for that.
reads like playing sOs forces him to constantly experiment with new strategies, but this particular bane strategy was helped along by Symbol/Terminator.

I don't understand Cure here...he managed to kill 14 SCV...what was he thinking?....that Bbyong would turtle up after losing his economy?.......greed is punishing sometimes...

It was actually ridiculously close. Bbyong killed one of Cure's vikings in the previous attack so he had the 5 to 4 advantage and an additional raven. The blueflame was 2 seconds ahead for Bbyong.

Right before the attack , Cure started his 3rd CC- 400 minerals...that's 4 Hellions right?.. It would have made a difference i think...

Still got Maru and sOs to fall back on. It's all gravy yo!
Yeah indeed but Maru struggles vs ByuL along with sOs so it just opens it up. I'd rather Rogue went out to hit ByuL purposely, when the likes of sOs only has a counter in ByuL really who has mental edge over due to other day.

depends if he actually cut 4 hellions to make the CC or if he was making hellions the entire time.

I read it in the way that sOs is actively giving him advice, how to play against protoss and is discussing the strategies with him, while in this case, Symbol / Terminator played it against him in practice and were pointing out at the small things, he needs to improve in this strategy.
I thought this was 2014 for a second and was worried about who CJ would field between Bbyong and herO in case Bbyong loses to Rogue. Then I remembered Byul exists and all is fine.
Then I remembered how our two-time finalist played yesterday and realized it's probably all on Bbyong still lol

ByuL lost that game to slingshot CJ forward to win PL just like how he threw vs Revival to slingshot himself into Code S.

Hey guys! I've been wondering about many casters saying "look at that lost mining time though" when for example hellions do little damage, just like the first attack right there where Bbyong traded 2 hellions for 3 drones (?). How much mining is really lost? I feel like it's overplayed a bit from the caster's side..

I think in most cases it equates to 100 minerals or so, 1-2 mineral trips perhaps, not more. Kind of hard to estimate without a clock, but I also think casters sometimes overplay it.

A worker gets roughly a mineral per second, thus every second of a saturated base is 16 minerals. You can judge yourself how worth it is to lose a helion for the lost time.

Byul is a bad pick against Rogue, it was big a risk to take just to save herO for last. This way, provided herO wins this game, Byul gets sOs and/or Maru. He's far better in that position.

pylons build so fast, as soon as protoss sees you trying to focus a pylon it's very easy for them to drop an extra one instead of the 5th or 6th cannon or whatever
On September 30 2015 19:35 deacon.frost wrote: Why those Jin Air zergs do not cancel OMFG?!
Because you lose if you do so.
There was zillion cannons though.
That could still be cancelled after the hatch is canceled, thus given the minerals to hero to plant a second base, much ahead of Rogue, and then he ould even chose to contain Rogue ramp with an other canon and thus limiting him on one base.

Well he couldn't defend this one and all actually saw it. Once the cannon was up cancel is still better than sacrifice workers and base. It's still a bad position, but not that bad.

I don't like this pick from Jin Air at all. Fielding sOs here is a bad move - if Byul comes out and beats sOs, that leaves only Maru. Maru is not the player you want in the last game against Byul.

I can't count the number of time I disagree with Wolf comments... I mean regarding hero PvP history, It's not a bad call to send a monster protoss player against him? no?

yea they needed sOs for Byul
Hm, why did the coach send SOS against P and not Maru, who seems weeker against a possible Z?

It's more about the rest of the match. If sOs loses, Maru is left to face herO and/or Byul. That's not a good position for Jin Air.
On September 30 2015 19:53 sharkie wrote: herO and sOs were laughing while chatting... Are they actual friends? lol
sOs was doing that in chat in all kill format against KT last week. Just about everyone who was in lobby chatting with sOs was smiling or laughing before the game starts. I think he does that to lull them into a false sense of security.

Plastic surgery. That doesn't make them any less hot, though.
Does everyone get plastic surgery? I know how big plastic surgery is in Korea, but it seems unlikely that every Korean girl would have had plastic surgery that extensive.

I think the majority of them get double eyelid surgery but nothing more than that.

Not everyone. My brother in law's korean, and he's told me a lot of girls get surgery for their 16th birthday as a present or w/e, but it's mostly the eyelid thing.

It happens, albeit less often. Byul would crush Maru, though.
Well that's sad. And Maru losing is so hard to comprehend for me considering his sicknasty micro and how brutal he was in the match up last year. Really been forever since I watched.
ByuL is the best anti-bio Z player and has been for awhile now. He does what Life does, except where Life's counter atacks are riskier and do more game ending damage, ByuL's are less risky, but do more damage over time and with less risk.

Brutal. I'll have to look up some of his games vs Bio, love watching that. Especially with Byul.

They are really not ... the most Korean girls are pretty ugly ... but when there is an exception, it is an EXCEPTION!!!
Been there a couple times, can verify this as false.
It is a matter of taste, we shouldn't be arguing about this.
Just admite that you're all wet like the rest of us in here when you look at them Korean ladies!...Say it! The truth shall set you free!!
Actually, I really like Asian girls ... but unfortunately, Korean girls are one of the worst ones ... they definitely do not look like the fan girls before the matches ... maybe the Pakistani girls are uglier, but all the Japanese, Thai, Malay, Chinese ... are nicer than the Korean girls ... but I met in Korea also the most beautiful Asian girl, I have ever met.
Today at work, I showed some colleagues the foto of sOs next to the airplane, telling them about the man with unlimited strategies, legacies and power.
I told them, that he will also rise today as the crazy king. the strategical Messi of starcraft (football noobs at my work). Now is THAT time, now is THAT moment. $O$ will prevail again, and will finish this proleague season with an all kill in the next match.
sOs is my herO. sOs is my Trust. sOs is my wrecking Byul
What happened earlier with the hydra ling push vs chargeless no upgrade sOs? I had to do some quick work Only thing I can think of is something like a overseer snipe and dt or some zealot flank
That is the thing on sOs ... he does not make mistakes. And whenever he is behind, he always makes the right decisions to get back into the match. There was only one game, I have seen him doing many, many mistakes ... semifinal with Solar on DreamHack ... very weird 5 games ... but otherwise, he is a god.

It is, but since players in the playoffs get to potentially play 7 more matches, it would tilt the records extremely unfairly in the favor of players on the 4 top teams.

Imagine that. Blizzcon Finals, $100,000, 2013 Champion vs. 2014 Champion and they play "their own kind of games". That sounds like a Life vs. sOs finals to me.

Yeah... I can never acknowledge that kind of award. The players playing most matches in the playoffs are obviosly much better then the others. They are the Best. Why leave out their records? It should be 2 separate awards then, maybe? I mean I get it now thanks, I just find it really stupid.

Yeah... I can never acknowledge that kind of award. The players playing most matches in the playoffs are obviosly much better then the others. They are the Best. Why leave out their records? It should be 2 separate awards then, maybe? I mean I get it now thanks, I just find it really stupid.
I think there is a finals MVP award no?
It's not really stupid as a MVP award should be awarded regardless of how the team overall performs

But we knew it - look at the predictions for this match, the most TL users predicted 4-2 for Jin Air ... saying when sOs or Maru get into the seat, they will finish it ...

It is really great job and everything, but it's as I feared! That's why I watch/read only series which are finished! DAMN IT, cannot wait until the day 2 is done... (or gimme link if I am blind)

I suggest that for maximum HYPE for the finals, EVERY SINGLE PERSON who intends to post in the final's LR thread chose SKT1 or JAGW as a team flair, from now on and until the finals are over. Forget your really favorite teams for a moment, no matter if they're foreign or Korean, and make the final's LR thread a huge Red vs Green fest that will be spoken of for ages.

But what if I want SKT and Jin Air to do equally well?

Are you chicken or Belgium or what? Just pick a side and face the consequences. But note that one side is significantly darker than the other! (while, incidentaly, being also Darker).

Find something to chose your team : -coinflip. -what is the last food you eat? If it started with an S, a K, or a T, then it's SKT you support. If it started with a J, A, G or W, it's Jin Air. If it started with none of these letter, pick the food you eat before that, etc. -Do you prefer blondes or brunettes? Blondes = JAGW, Brunettes = SKT. Arbitrary rule. -Would you rather try to conquer the world with an army of robots, or with a gang of psychopaths? First answer = SKT, second one = JAGW. -just pick the team which possess the most of your favorite players -In movies/games/books/whatever, do you usually support the rebels or the strong, established power? First answer = JAGW, second one = SKT. -Is your favorite team KT? Then you have to cheer for JAGW, ez. -Is your favorite team CJ? Then you have to cheer for JAGW, because you have to cheer for the one who beat you. -Do you prefer traditional meals done well (SKT) or crazy, spicy, exotic food (JAGW)? -Wine (SKT) or beer (JAGW)? Whiskey (SKT) or Vodka (JAGW)?
But remember that GODDAMN NEUTRALITY SHALL NOT BE TOLERATED

At the end to the day, these are my 2nd and 3rd favorite teams (#SBENU) so I am literally just hoping for good games (and sOs to save his best for blizzcon). However it should be said: JIN AIR HYPE WINGS FIGHTING!

Whiskey (SKT) or Vodka (JAGW)?
But remember that GODDAMN NEUTRALITY SHALL NOT BE TOLERATED
Pretty much everything in this post suggests I should root for Jin Air
(1) I think now we all want to know what in this post does NOT suggest that you root for Jin Air (; (2) Well what are you waiting for? Join the good side ! We have planes, grass, and crazy players. Jin Air players live like rockstars on tour. Come !
Proxy Wings is everything other than GOOD! Chaotic evil it is!
Also, you can try some D&D test to decide what side you are on. My test went good, chaotic evil! (in reality it was chaotic neutral(27) vs chaotic evil(26), but I am not a Switzerland, that is for sure )

I know this is late, but apparently hero, Flash and sOs are friends because(?) they were born on the same year. hero is friends with Zest too.
I was aware flash and rain were friends...didnt know about this though
I think the Asian culture has a bit to do with it with the emphasis on who your "elder" and "younger" generation are, even a year in age disparity can be a big difference in how approachable you are, especially in a competitive environment.

Though am I not from East Asia, I can still comment on the legality of this, however it is seen by far to the largest degree in East Asia.

Well, afaik Prime is not a dead team, thus there's no risk of the Prime tag disappearing during the week and a half he'll switch to Jin Air. Right, Lorning?
Who? Me? I dunno, I have no contacts with admins. But maybe TL could have a special theme for the two-three days before the finals? A special SKT vs JAGW theme, wouldn't that be awesome and HYPE? (or even let the users chose if they want a SKT or JAGW theme)

So this is how it will go down: Innovation will win the GSL and SKT will party so hard that only Innovation will be capable of winning in the proleague finals against JinAir. GG

That depends on who makes the LR thread.
Nono I meant a TL.net-wide theme, not just a thread-wide theme. Although it would be cool if we could have, for example, red instead of blue for people with a SKT flair and green instead for people with a JinAir flair. Quick mockup :

Could anyone look at the final game against ByuL and explain, how did sOs survive it? The only thing that comes to my mind is a huge error by ByuL when he was waiting in front of sOs's bases with his hydra ling mega army, he was waiting until sOs builds a few cannons, creates an Archon, waits for some Zealots ... But if ByuL did not wait and wait and do nothing in front of sOs base and just attack, it would be an easy victory for him, right? So it was from 90% BuyL mistake, right?

He goes for the 3rd straight away and pulls back after baiting the photon overcharge, then goes straight for the natural wall. If he wanted to attack before the cannons were done he would have had to go for the natural wall before the 3rd. Hydra Ling is risky vs photon overcharge because they can target fire the slow squishy Hydras and if use Zealots to block off gaps to stop Lings from getting a surround. Byul was pretty far ahead so the safe thing to do was to snipe the Cyber Core to stop Stalkers and Sentry production for the next minute or so, then attack after photon overcharge is done and win easily. Unfortunately for Byul, sOs opted to open Charge instead which is pretty rare, and Byul was caught with his pants down and Lings out of position. So the Zealots got through to the Hydras straight away without any Lings or Roaches protecting them and after cleaning up the Byul's army really cost efficiently sOs was back in the game.

You can also tell sOs was very confident because he started +2 attack and Blink while under pressure :D.
I got confused and thought OtherWorld was calling Lorning naked because he wouldn't change his Prime flair to one of a relevant team. I called his comment savage because it I thought it was just another sick burn on Prime and Lorning.
