I guess the advantage of not being able to sleep is that I'll watch the live (and I watched the whole claymore serie).. I really hope hero wins this one Byun hero final !
It's so frustrating to be TY's fan. When he plays his A-game, he's literally the best, but plays the A-game rarely. He went out last two GSL's the identical way.
I have no idea what TY was thinking. He killed every one of those oracles, and for some reason decided not to push. He had almost double the army supply. He could have traded so well, if not outright won the game.

In game 3 he tried to push out after holding an allin and died. He was probably tilted from it

I must admit that removing tankivac does give terran strength in early attack but also weaken thier early game defend. TY would be much more confident to push with 2 takivacs after killing all oracles.

FF and pylons cannons is my guess
Yeah I see this happen a lot to terran, is seems hard to attack into a protoss because its hard to gauge the toss defense.
He could probably push there but its hard to know when you look at it from the vision of the terran.

At this level of play, he should have had a good idea what Hero could have had. I mean, he built four Oracles and two Sentries. He wasn't going to have any real tech out. And he had stim and medivacs at that point so he always had the option to retreat. But I can hardly blame him. I'm the same way in TvP. Regardless the state of the game, I feel like there's never a good time to attack because you can always bet on getting shut down by the million pylons the toss has all over the place.

For real, though, in WoL and HotS you'd get pathogen glands every single time, and then in LotV every zerg seems to have decided it's not worth it (despite infestors being more popular than they were in HotS). Does anyone know why every zerg has gone this way?

clearly cause winning 3 gsl < Hsc and dreamhacks right
Clearly destroying those GSL champions left and right when he did face them, not to mention beating them in GSL when he returned and making it to r8 3 out of 4 times isn't impressive at all either. He has a losing record against Flash, Life and I think ForGG.
Despite the fact that I dislike Taeja, to be fair, I would rather watch Taeja than skill-less foreigners in Blizzcon. Blizzcon should be the top 16 players in the world, not the top 8 players in the world and 8 players from foreignerland.

and Rain had a winning record against Taeja
Thank you for clearing that up for everyone and myself. So, he had a losing record against 4 players. Destroyed everyone else. And when he lost in GSL, he lost to the eventual champion. You beat TaeJa in r8 higher, you're winning that tourney. No questions asked. When he had to return, he was the most requested player everyone wanted a piece of. And he gave it to them.
1. I KNEW Rogue would beat Byun, and I KNEW he would shut down the reapers. Y'all really need to analyze that build more, and stop the whining. It is NOT unbeatable, like just stop with that. Please....
2. I really felt these Zergs keep losing to it, cause they think they have a God given right to drone to 70, tech to ultras, and win. And they think it's the ONLY way they can play the game, and if you play another way, you are bad.
Kinda like how Protoss KEEP losing to horrible Hydra -Ling-Bane, cause they are stuck in an adept -immortal mind fuck. It's like they forgot Collosi kill every Zerg ground unit. It's why Broodlord Infestor became the go to comp, it's why they NERFED COLLSI IN LOTV to begin with. It was a breath of fresh air when Hurricane smashed with them in GSL, I'm like " FINNALLY!!!!!"
3. This is a theory of mine, but I think mass ladder > practice partners. Rogue is rank 1 GM, meaning he's just grinding game after game. I think you see a much greater variety of builds and gameplay when you practice like that.
Reminds me of Byun when he was going to the top of the ladder at will, it seems like he was a better player when he had nothing to lose, and just played EVERY game in sight with no regard.
Edit: Neeb as well, when he was rank 1 Korea, and he won Kespa during this same time period....
I suspect this is why Rogues current form is so strong...
Think about it..... If you spend all your time practicing TvZ vs say, a TY, who is great at being defensive, late game, and multi-tasking, what happens when you play an Ultra aggressive player like a Byun? What happens if you practice with a Byun, then you get a Macro monster like an Innovation?
That to me is bad practice regiments..... It's like when Scarlett thought she could beat any Terran cause she practices with Byun, or beats an Innovation or Maru on ladder, then loses to an aLive, it's the practice I feel.....

1. Nobody complained about it being unbeatable (or they were dumb), however people complained about the fact that even if it fails, terran is at worst even with Zerg. 2. Colossi are really not that good vs ling bane hydra. they cost a lot of gas and yet you still need sentries. Not to mention splitting your army in half, if the zerg decides to attack your 3rd and 4th at the same time, is a freaking nightmare to do efficiently unless you're maxed (you're likely to lose on both fronts). On the other hand, you only need a couple templars at a base to delay an attack. 3. Practice partners > ladder, otherwise people wouldn't have complained time and time again about the korean infrastructure giving an advantage to the koreans coming in NA/EU. 4. What makes you think people always do the same things in practice ?

Everything about that video was confusing. Pretty much any mid-high diamond player nowadays could go back to 2010 and dominate, the skill level was so low.

Were you glad Voldemort didn't show up?
Chines guy was good, but not as funny as you know you.
On your third point, I STRONGLY disagree. Byun proved the Kespa thing was a myth. Jin Air has had that support all year, they haven't until this moment won anything all year. Where the hell is Cure? Is Trap a top three Toss? $o$, is he top three Toss at the moment?

No it's not the PLAYERS that did it, it was HOW they practiced, meaning they'd didn't have to worry about anything in LIFE BUT Starcraft. And they would play what, 12 hours a day? No one else save a adolescent has that much time to just play, not even a high school kid, ( see Neeb and Serrall here..)

Great point on Rain, I forgot him, but his play style and skill got him that title. Stats plays kinda similar IMO, and he's SUPER consistent, I really don't think the KT thing is the reason, exibit; Zest.
I remember proleague games from a couple years ago where Wolf was thinking Stats was top Protoss, hell, Artosis STILL thinks Zest is the best, lol....
No I capitalize for emphasis, why do people instead of engaging in convo always say some goofy snarky nonsense?
I was posting just a week or so ago how a good Zerg stops reapers easy. I saw this coming. (Edit: Byun beat Rogue 2-0 Ssl challenge first week, so he SHOULD HAVE BEEN READY, how the hell do you die to that if you see it coming? And you MUST see it coming, it's fuckin Byun, lol...)
I got no discourse, just no, reapers are unbeatable. I don't even get the argument that it leaves Zerg behind. I watched TY win a TvZ thirty fuckin workers behind. Vs Dark, for that matter. How are ravager pressure builds less abusive? That hold looked three times as hard to hold than reapers for a Zerg...... If he can hold that, Zerg should be able to handle reapers.....
You really think practicing with Trap or sOs 10 hours a day prepared Rogue for hero, or constant ladder play? Serious question here......
Okay enough, I said my peace, congrats to Rogue, really looking forward to his GSL performance going forward....

Not all games were streamed.
2 years ago, they actually uploaded VODs with no commentary for unstreamed games for IEM Shenzhen.
I guess now everyone will analyze the shit out of Rogue's vods to see how to counter his strategies. Nice to see a zerg finally winning something, but i hope it will be an SSL or GSL next. But then Innovation is there, so it's a tough one.
Really impressived by Rogue's performance is this tournament. I known him to be a creative Zerg but not a champion due to his lack of mechanic and poor decision making, but he seems to be on another level recently. We should now recognize Rogue as the best Zerg in the world
After the semis I was really hoping for hero to win the whole thing - but I have to say Rogue dismantled him in the finals (after a super strong showing vs ByuN!), hopefully Rogue will be at Blizzcon.
Thanks to IEM and the Chinese scene for this very nice tournament, and congrats to all: players, casters, production, crowd.. very cool atmosphere

A better player can always make the races look one sided. ByuN's TvZ isn't as good as Rogue's ZvT right now.
If it were one of the other horseman playing, the game would have been closer. Also, ByuN can really struggle against LBM (whereas Inno/TY/Maru make LBM look weak)

wow kind of like soO vs Byun
soO's ZvT isn't even that good. People forget he has a sub 50% winrate in ZvT this year.
Solar/Dark/Rogue are all better than him (and even byul on a good day)
