BTSL: Amateur will feature at least one tournament a week, rotating skill caps every week. The first month (Feb) will feature tournaments catered to the European region & time zones, but we will take feedback as we go and adjust accordingly. Realistically, we just want to provide fans an opportunity to play, have their games cast, and ultimately help at least one player improve with the reward of coaching!
Tournament play will typically begin 1 hour after whatever event is happening with the main stream on the day. (Example: BTSL: Europe starts at 10, BTSL: Amateur starts at 11) with the finals held to be cast!
Prizing: 1st place - 1 Hour of paid coaching with the coach of your choosing (coaching recommendation & details below)
2nd place - Random prizing (will likely feature a CO-OP commander code of your choice, or maybe a poster, or something else! Tune in each week to find out!)
In order to compete you MUST fill out this form so our admin can better vet players and try to ensure fair competition!
Gold & Below Feb 28: http://challonge.com/BTSLama3 Please note that if you are caught de-ranking intentionally to fit into these brackets, and are caught, you will receive a lifetime ban. This tournament is meant to be about good sportsmanship and self improvement, not smurfing!

Coaching Style:I use either skype or discord whichever works best for the student, personal preference goes to discord however. Replay analysis, talking about the goals/ what the student thinks is preventing from reaching his goals. Playstyle (bio/mech etc), map preferrences and why it is important. Prioritizing macro/micro when it is important and how to optimize both (using multiple scvs to build barracks instead of 1 shift queueing etc. Using attack move stutter step over hold position etc.) Fun fact: I am a streamer that makes ghosts and listens to twitch chat.
Beastyqt Language: Serbian/English (Can coach all races: Terran, Protoss, Zerg, Random) Availability: Every day 11 AM to 6 PM CET. (must be scheduled at least 3 days in advance). + Show Spoiler +
Coaching Style:My coaching style doesn't revert about telling you what you can do better in a single game. I try to teach people how to think about the game and to understand the game better, so that in the future they can learn on their own and not rely on coaching every single time. We can use either skype or discord. We will go through your replay first just to see what area you are lacking the most (macro, micro, decision making, tactics, etc), we will focus on and work on your weaknesses first! After that I'll show you a solid build order you can use similar to your play style and explain my decision making in games so you can understand WHY you are doing things in game, instead doing it blindly and having no clue why you are actually doing it Fun fact:I can eat anything potato related faster and better than anyone else.

Coaching Style: I've coached many people in the past, I like to go over some replays prior to the session to finds flaws in their play and then give new builds orders during the session, where I will provide you with some of my own replays, and then we let you try out the build with my guidance.
Fun fact: I won one offline event, and I have participated in eight offline events overall. I have also been WCS Challenger in the past.

Coaching Style: Very adaptable, I’ve been coaching sc2 professionally for 6 or 7 years now. I do about 100 or more hours a month. I do a mix of everything depending on the situation: replays/hotkeys/mouse & keyboard settings/build orders/discussion/observing. Everything has a time and place.
Fun fact: Super not Asian, made my name when I was playing an MMORPG called Silkroad when I was 10 and thought I needed an Asian sounding name to play the Chinese faction x’D.
We've heard a lot of request to try a Master's & below league, so we'll offer that for the 4th cup of the month. We'll keep the time zone for now, however the server default has been changed to NA for March. We're still testing and tweaking, and taking feedback, and would like to remind everyone that this is meant to be a project that runs for the rest of the year, so until we find that sweet spot we'll keep rotating things around!
Lastly, while we've been working diligently to weed out smurfs & jerks, we know the system isn't perfect, but we've been lucky so far. In an on going effort to please everyone getting involved we're going to ask you to fill out this form so our admin can better vet players and try to ensure fair competition!
can i resubmit my entry form? i didn't notice it was na server and filled it in as eu player. i since played some games on na servers and currently am at same mmr as my eu account.
The tournament went pretty smoothly and was nice overall.
One thing you could add in the description, is that the pre-picked map can be seen in the bracket near the round number. Should save you some of the "Which map is pre-picked" questions.
THE NEW FORM FOR APRIL <<< please be sure to fill this out if you wish to participate in the events this month! the old form being filled out will not count. The form in the above comment is not correct and i will attempt to get it fixxed.

Unlike other species, Uttwiler Spatlauber Swiss apple’s stem cell has greater vitality. Research studies have shown that, a 0.1% concentration of PhytoCellTec could activate and regenerate 80% stem cells in human body. Hey guys, I took part in the last tournament for Diamond League and below and i wanted to thank Darers for organizing the whole thing. I have to say i was super excited to play in a tournament.
Sadly I have to say that the format change being best of 3s to being best of 1s really hurt the tournament. I know there were a lot of participants and that there was to be a time schedule kept but yea it really killed a lot of the tournament feeling and made it more of a meet a random person once and then move on like it most of the time is on ladder.
When then rifkin also apparently delayed the showing of the finals (don't know what actually happened cause i turned off the stream at that point) I was really upset.
I like that he supports beasty's beast of the hill thing but that the tournament was changed to fit his schedule and then not even the final was being broadcast on time was a huge upset to me and felt like a slap to the face to the guys playing the tournament.
I mean it's your tournament and your stream but that felt very non-chalant.
this week(on august 22nd) we will be hosting 2 amateur tournaments. The prize pool will be separated and is described above(same prizes in total, just spread over 2 events happening at same time for different ratings).
edit: dont forget to fill out form on bracket if you want to participate!
lol, as a diamond player i find the prizes a little bit funny. i would much rather have a co-op commander than coaching. since i'm like 99.999% of players who will never go pro or compete for money coaching would be a pretty useless novelty to me, whereas a co-op commander is something i could get a lot of enjoyment out of
no hate for organizing and having prizes at all, good on you guys for making it happen, it's just sort of funny

I won some of these and asked for coop instead of coaching, rifkin delivered.
