I have been watching his streams and his ZvT is very solid, he lost like 1 game out of 10 and I think that was against Maru. His late game ZvP is probably the best in the world, and his ZvZ is excellent as well.
Only thing he seems to struggle with is Protoss mid game pushes, be it Immortals or charge archon. Sometimes he is not prepared well enough, but overall he seems to be in top form. I hope he can show this in the GSL as well

He's 9-2 against Classic in LoTV. And one of the matches he lost was when protoss was imba for the first couple weeks of 4.0
He also got sent to the losers match of his group by classic last time he picked him iirc?
True, but it's virtually the only time Classic has beaten him (in a premier event). Every other time is a win for Dark so he's still the massive favourite

Not only was it two months after 4.0, PvZ was also mostly even or zerg favored during that period, unless a 52% winrate in PvZ during a single period (every other period being 48%-ish or below) counts as "protoss imba".

The 15 damage stalkers really took that long to get removed?

Got removed January 29th. Didn't really help protoss winrates in PvZ.

Classic certainly went from unbeatable to not quite as soon as it hit though.

He wasn't unbeatable before lol
Stalkers were op vs hydralisks, what are you on, protoss apologist???

He was 70-80% in all matchups or something ridiculous iirc. Barely dropped series to anyone (I think one against Inno and one against Zest)

You're not wrong. It happened before the patch (Jan 29th). The thing is, it's still happening after.
Interesting that, even despite Innovation's poor form recently, he's still the last one picked in Group selection. Nobody wants to face The Machine in their group

He doesn't struggle against Trap. That said, PvT is hard at the moment.
But yeah, Dark and Classic are bad for him. If you swap Trap and sOs, I think it would the worst possible group for TY.
If Maru wins his group he gets group C runner-up in the Ro8. So there is a small hope he swaps out TY on account of not wanting to risk meeting him there.
Maru listened to team captain. But honestly he probably felt bad for knocking out sOs in two playoffs (GSL, IEM WC) this year. The fake aggression opening he used against Stats in the finals also looked very sOs-esque. Plus why not make a group of death for fun.

Yet Innovation got kicked out in RO16 last season.
Also, I guess Innovation will be one of the best players this season, probably him and Rogue will advance.

I think Inno can easily go down in this group. Dear is capable of losing vs anyone but also capable of beating anyone. If Inno loses to Rogue, and soO beats Dear it will be a 50-50%.
I think all 4 can advance or get knocked out from this group.
Seems like group C is the group of death this time. Hope Classic has improved PvZ and TY gains something from the recent patch. If so, it will be explosive.
Inno's late game vs Z looked rough. His raven/ghost wasn't stellar, to say the least. Beyond that, he hasn't looked exceptional in recent months in general, and just barely clawed his way into the ro16. Doesn't seem top 4 in Korea, right now. But i'd be fine to be proven wrong this season.
By far the deadliest group of death we've ever had. Best Zerg, Best Protoss, and the two best Terrans coming into HotS. Though things would change a lot in the coming months they all seemed considerably above the rest of the pack during this time.
Dear was the reigning champ, Soulkey was probably still the best Zerg, Maru was the undisputed best Terran, and Zest was the hottest new player who would end up royal roading the season
Might not seem like much today, but back then this group was insane. Symbol was arguably the best Zerg, Squirtle had just come off a nearly undefeated season (dat Mvp tho), Marineking was probably the best Terran for the first half of 2012, and MC was rapidly returning to form and would go on to reach the finals.
Group A is the easiest but then I don't think there's really a group of death. All of the other groups have 3 great names and 1 median name. It will be greattttttttttt

Flash had reached the finals of MLG (lost to Life) and was stomping everyone in SPL.
Bogus made it deep in back to back GSL seasons at the end of WoL, almost made the finals of MLG in HotS (lost to Flash), and was also consistently competing with Flash for the top SPL spot.
Was bored so creating some predictions using Aligulac's predictor (which I know can be hilariously bad). It reckons that group B and D are the most balanced and most likely final 8 are Maru, Solar, Innovation, soO, Classic, Dark, Stats and sOs.
Not sure if that's interesting but thought I would post anyway
