If you really do raise 10.000$ you should do a small tournament with the best 8 players. That'd be more fun.
Then there's the question how to mitigate the online issue. Korea v Europe is not doable. Korea v US v Europe is doable, but it's still questionable in the terms who's play is more impacted by bigger ping values. There's no doubt that no matter who's gonna lose his fains will use it as an argument(and we're talking about 100+ ms ping which is noticable in APM intensive games). The only mitigation is to fly one player over... more monies needed.
And the new patch is gonna destroy more Maru than Serral IMO. Which is the biggest issue, we're not gonna make it on time.

Maru didn't prove yet if he's better. Maybe he will be better at some point in time if he doesn't keep getting knocked out by koreans who Serral beats easily.

When this is your only tournament encounter of the year with a top Terran, your ZvT can't have a good look.
Yes and it s online. As the first match in Group stages. No matter the outcome, people will find excuses for why "their" player didn t show up. Also Maru - Serral isn t as hot as it was 2 years ago..

I'm guessing I missed it? But... right now nobody cares anymore. The real cruncher TvZ is Reynor vs Clem

DUUUUUDE
Get your TL.net on. Can't believe people don't know about this by now
I feel like it will be a dissapointment, Maru with his current form due to his injury just wont be able to live up to expectations and he really dislikes online matches. Serral will win and it probably will be underwhelming.
maru isnt that good anymore due to his injuries serral will win. parting once said most koreans dont really invest to much time and effort for prepping for online tournaments and ping doesnt favor them.

But Serral is in a slump right now, so it might equal out. Either way, it's not the best vs the best match we had hoped for back in '18

TY echoed parting's comments too.
What a shame, because uthermal was just PF rushing while Gabe as always is only playing the eu ladder late at night which is such great practice. Their prep should make the difference against those koreans who just dont care angry face.
Anyhow, this is not just some online tournament. Maru doesnt play those. This is a online premier tournament event with ept points on the line as well. He played the qualifier to qualify for this, everyone playing will care and most likely prep for it. Dont you worry.
I think Serral and Maru both move without money, but Maru is avoiding Serral and Trap for some reason.
At least Serral is finnish and finnish people you can usually talk onto doing things if you know them personally. Lets say if Lambo, ZhugeLiang or someone similar asks i think he should agree.
Maru seems to be ready to lose money if he just does not have to play serral. Tournament victory, price money and such seem trivial to him as long as he will not have to play serral or if trap can advance.
Do not know in the future, but in the past if you put money on the opponent of Maru when the next opponent could be trap have been a safe bet. If i remember right the succes rate have been 100%.
Both Maru and Serral seem strange.
Maru always perform worse when outside Korea. I think its something personal, stress for not being in Korea personally, to be able to go home.
Also, think about what reason serral gave to pig (pig show serral interview) why he cannot stream, they have not that good internet in the house atm. Just think about it. He will rather travel to the other place to be able to stream than do it home and do not think it a problem. Seems strange that the person having that kind of reason is a world champion. Its not like its a problem of funding or anything, he just accepts how things are and is fine with it like a humble person. This could tell something about the personality. You can also search interviews when serral is something like 13 years old, they are held in finnish language but you wont often see something as innocent and cute. Something of that is still there if you seek for it. Definetely not a night king or anything. Seem to take his job very seriously as in starcraft.
So for the topic i think serral might agree but maru would not, so seems impossible even from pairings on tournament.
For the interview i made the search on your behalf:
Strange thing but he is not feeling much confidence against Protoss, he mentions it himself that its not a good thing that the next match is against protoss. Says its a hard match up for him. Also says he is focusing more on school than starcraft and the interviewer asks is he thinking of changing game and he says no.
Still, high changes that other people have started corrupting serral. It eventually happens. Most of the people are somewhat toxic and it seems that in that age there are not that kind of people around him. Surely is now, making him a night king and all. Make him a bastion of hope who carries the foreign starcarft to a new dawn. A shining light amongst darkness. The only one who can stand against the DARK lord. His glory stolen by the Jester, who succumbed in the presence of the one ling.
The dark lords minion Maruman, covering in his radaince.
