There is a huge science to the cheating and the testing just barely catches up before the cheaters find a new way. Except tons of UFC fighters who have been caught for really stupid stuff the last year came speaking out very vocally. If the microdosing improves your performance by 0.01% so be it, a balance must be found, the tests are only getting more sensitive with time. People getting caught with ostarine recently has been dumb, the Mexican meat thing was real, and I'm sure there's a lot of stuff in the food we eat too. Idk, we should analyse the tests the results as performance enhancing vs is the substance there. Sure, it's possible that they took the substance two weeks ago and now it's trace and not performance enhancing, but I think the tradeoff for microdosing and knowing you'll get caught if tested within a few days for a very small performance benefit... It just won't be worth the the risk of a 2 year suspension, it's a good enough deterrent. The goal to achieve 0 of everything in your system will make enforcement costs increase exponentially. More frequent testing, more expensive precise tests, more care for the fighters what they consume (tons of foods probably aren't certified to that level of purity by the FDA), so you'd be limited to consuming foods that have extensive additional testing. Your number of false positives will keep increasing ruining peoples' lives... Even coupling lie detect tests to contracted fighters to collect additional intent info seems less intrusive to them, then having them monitor everything they put in their bodies to that extent. Anyway, I think USADA is on a similar page as me, I've been hearing this performance enhancing term more and more. Miceo doseing does not up your perfprmance .01% this is a number you made up. It is gar greater hence why people do it. The reason they test for such small amounts is because your body processes things and it becones undetectible. A good example is how much weed the diazs openly smoke and how few times they have been caught. Sure there are people like JDS who likely did get screwed, but if tou listen to the fighters they have a pretty good idea of who is cheating and who isnt. Look at johny hendrix career once stiffer testong came in.
They are.not testimg for tiny amounts to stop people from doing tiny amountsm they are because that is all that remains in the system after people flush and so on.

Ariel Helwani digging deep into the JBJ thing.
what a meandering mess this is. Jones tested +ve for turinabol metabolites in August and September and didn't inform CSAC. They then went to CSAC and got his license re-instated.
"Perhaps the ultimate irony in this story is this: Nevada was informed of the August & September + test on 12/6. No one informed Calif. Jones has a hearing on 12/11 in Calif. in order to get off the suspension list (and get a temp license in Cali) & ultimately be licensed in NV..."
California was "plan b" all along.

I'm unsure what this tweet is suppose to mean. Do we care who these 3 individuals are? Are we going to get our pitch forks and attack them now?

JBJ and Roger Clemens look like they went to the same acting school.

Amazing KO by Amanda Nunes. Probably the 1st 2-weight champ who can legitimately defend both belts.

Nunes is the goat of all women!

Yep, awesome performance... Interesting strategy of Cyborg to keep moving forward after being rocked 2-3x. Man, not sure what to think about a rematch after a performance like that, but who else is out there for Nunes to fight.

Amanda Nunes has to be the GOAT women final now. I never Cyborg would be beaten. Let alone finished in the first round.

Most champions defend their belts at most 2 times a year, and it usually goes around 8-10 months between each. How is 3 not good enough? I thought he didn't want to defend the LHW belt anyway and just prepared to one big fight (and 1 or 2 title defence inbetween) before retiring.

Man jones is so fucking good. It suvks so bad that there is.such a cloud around him (of his creation). But he shouldnfigjt dc at hw not lhw. I dont care who is better at cutting weight, lets see who is better at fighting. In there 2 fight s jones looked bigger any way.

Maybe a rematch against Shevchenko at Bantamweight next? Both their fight went the distance and now that she also has a belt of her own it could be a nice fight, they will probably want to give both a title defence first tho.

I could see cyborg moving up to 145 to fight the last winner of the ultimate fighter girls.
I think you are Shevchenko is the toughest fight but they will have them both build their resumes a bit.

I know Shevchenko arguably won their second fight, and both matches were close contest, but i think the size difference will still be a too big factor to overcome. But who else for each of them, Flyweight is still an empty category right now, and Nunes cleared Bantam.
And any excuse to see more of Shevchenko's technique is good enough.

I think it's too many belt vs belt fights, like I don't know what exactly happened with the women's divisions, but they sort of all died in the last 2 years.
Featherweight has like 3 competitors, Cyborg was probably going to leave UFC due to that.
Bantamweight the top contenders are well... Disappointing. Holly Holm is still up there with losing almost every fight, GdR #1, eh...
Flyweight Jessica fucking Eye might fight for the belt says it all.
Strawweight probably the best division in terms of talent, Tatiana and Nina are both relative up and comers on a rampage, Andrade had developed herself well, you have the excitement of Dern, and a big name in JJ for others to fight.
I'm thinking that the superfights place too much emphasis on the champions, and then nobody is looking at the contender fights for the division and what it'll mean for the future title shots. With Amanda fighting Cyborg, the other fighters in the division knew it'd be a year at least before she would defend the belt... And then one of your best fighters going down in weight class, another two having fought in other weight classes... Anyway, focus on the individual weight classes. Get Amanda to fight Ketlen, have Holm rematch GdR, and get the rest of the division to put a lot of fights in and bring a couple new girls to grow the division.
You can't just rematch a superfight fight, it puts everything on hold for too long, especially with a result like that. I think Cyborg needs to bang out two wins, probably one not for the belt, and the 2nd fight for a vacant against belt another girl who won first last fight. I don't have a strong opinion of Nunes getting stripped or not, I think she needs two defenses in 135 first, and in my opinion if there 145 belt isn't defended for 12-15 months it won't be a big deal because there's so few fighters there.

Keep your eyes out for Jojo Calderwood in strawweight, she's added to her game nicely while she was out and got her first submission win after being on her back for a whole round in her last fight.
|
That would be cool. I really liked her on her season of TUF. Seems like a great girl.

I don't think Dern has more than 1 or 2 more fights at Strawweight, she barely made weight once and failed by a long shot the second time. Other than that, there are a lot of matches in this division, starting with Andrade for the title to unlock more match-ups down the line.
