I just hope he doesn't go the way of Lauzon from last weekend, where we start to just feel bad for him as he's getting punched in the head. Don't know where he goes from here tbh. Al Iaquinta, Pettis, or Felder I suppose.

45 seconds of just sitting in a submission with your face blue at the end of the fight. Somehow this guy managed to train his body to turn off everything when getting submitted minus his legs. This is a super questionable choice to give Chagas the TKO. Actually the most fucked up result in UFC I can ever recall (though I was rooting for Chagas).

Frank Mir wasn’t the only person Fedor Emelianenko had to worry about this week at Bellator 198 in Rosemont, Illinois. According to a report by The Telegraph, “Last Emperor” has been followed around by Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) officers throughout the week. They’ve tracked Fedor down, knocked on his hotel room, talked with the mixed martial arts (MMA) legend, and have reportedly been in and out for days. As of now, nobody knows what the heck is going on. Emelianenko does have ties to presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, but nothing is directly correlating the surprise visit to either man. Not only has Emelianenko’s team remained hush, hush about the intricacies of the situation, but Bellator officials haven’t divulged anything either. There is another likely scenario that could lead the FBI to Fedor’s hotel doorstep. Back when Affliction Entertainment signed Emelianenko in order to make an impact in the MMA community, the company COO was none other than Michael Cohen. That is the same Michael Cohen who is currently under criminal investigation by the FBI for potential bank fraud, wire fraud and campaign finance violations, as he is the longtime attorney for Trump. https://www.mmamania.com/2018/4/28/17297068/report-fedor-emelianenko-tracked-down-by-fbi-agents-at-bellator-198-mma

Will be my first UFC event, I'll be looking to spend $120-$150 dollars for the best ticket I can get. I have a feeling this will be a pretty expensive event though, not sure how close that'll get me. I'm more curious about how it works with all the pre fight stuff, hoping to go to some events beforehand, get a couple pictures with Joanna and Alvarez (please make it happen). Honestly, I just hope they manage to make Alvarez vs Poirier happen on this card, if they do this will be one of the best FOX cards ever. In that case both the main and co-main event would be better than the average fox card, then JJ vs Torres is one of the best female match ups you can make right now.... Then a #3 vs #5 fight in women's flyweight (meh), #9 vs #10 fight in men's flyweight, #11 vs #14 in women's strawweight. Then two awesome dark horse fights with Antigulov and Islam, both with insane records. Aaand probably 3-5 more fights to be added. Easily better than UFC224 ^_^.

Then again I've heard alverez vs porier might happen and it would be hard to not be tempted for that fight but if I do go I'll wait till like a week before to buy tickets in case a ton drop out like last time.

My gut feeling is somewhat similar, that the atmosphere is not my thing (though it's probably not thaat different from going to a Flames game). I want to go for the experience at least once, but will probably be enough for me haha. Tough to see the action and whatnot. Thanks for the insight though. How do you expect the price to go assuming no big fights get cancelled. Will it get cheaper or more expensive as the days count down to the event? And yes, the UFC 149 and cancellations were insane On April 24, due to a conflict with the UN Conference, the UFC Middleweight Championship bout between Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen, which was originally scheduled to main event UFC 147 was moved to UFC 148 to serve as the new main event. Plans were then being made for Jose Aldo, who at the time was scheduled to defend his title at this event against an undetermined opponent, to headline UFC 147.[79] However it was reported on April 28, 2012, that Aldo would remain on this card and defend his title against Erik Koch.[80] The bout between Michael Bisping and Tim Boetsch, originally scheduled for UFC 148, was moved to this event to help bolster this (the UFC 149) fight card.[81] However, Bisping was forced out of the bout with an injury and replaced by promotional newcomer Hector Lombard.[82] Yoshihiro Akiyama was expected to face Thiago Alves at this event, but was forced to pull out of the fight due to injury and replaced by Siyar Bahadurzada.[83] Then on June 1, Alves pulled out of the bout citing an injury[84] and was replaced by Chris Clements.[85] However, Bahadurzada was also forced out of the bout with an injury and replaced by Matthew Riddle.[86] Thiago Silva was expected to face Maurício Rua at the event. However, Silva was forced out of the bout with an injury and Rua was pulled from the event entirely, and would face Brandon Vera at UFC on Fox 4.[87] On June 4, 2012 it was announced that the UFC signed former DREAM champion Bibiano Fernandes. He was expected to compete against Roland Delorme.[88] However, a week later it was announced that Fernandes was removed from the event due to injury but was later announced that Ferandes had not signed with the UFC. Francisco Rivera filled in to fight Delorme.[89] On June 9, 2012 it was announced that UFC featherweight champion, Jose Aldo was removed from the event due to injury. No replacement has yet been named for his scheduled opponent, Erik Koch.[90] As a result, the UFC Interim Bantamweight Championship fight between Urijah Faber and Renan Barão was rescheduled as the main event of the fight.[91] George Roop was scheduled to fight Antonio Carvalho, but on June 26, Roop was forced out of the fight and replaced by Daniel Pineda.[92] Former Pride and Interim UFC Heavyweight Champion Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira was expected to face Cheick Kongo at the event. However, Nogueira pulled out of the bout, citing that an arm injury sustained in his last bout had not healed enough to resume the proper training and was replaced by Shawn Jordan.[93] Claude Patrick was expected to face James Head at the event. However, Patrick was forced out of the bout with an injury and was replaced by Brian Ebersole.[94]

3 surgeries and 18 months later and she is ready to roll. The 2nd surgery involved changing the insertion point of a tendon connected to her right bicep. The altered insertion point creates more leverage and gives her more power in her right arm. We might get a chance to see how much power she has.

Parents are now sometimes having their teenage sons go through this operation even though their ACL is perfectly healthy. https://www.insidescience.org/news/do-pitchers-get-better-after-tommy-john-surgery so its not just combat sports where a surgical procedure might be able to boost performance. March at a meeting of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, by Christopher Ahmad, the head team physician for the New York Yankees, and others, looked at every major league pitcher to have received the surgery before 2011 -- beginning with Tommy John in 1974. They showed a decline in ERA, walks and hits per inning, the percentage of fastballs thrown and fastball velocity in the case of Pennington the change in the insertion point of her bicep tendon will increase her power because the tendon is now attached further away from the joint. The negative to this is she has a higher chance of injury due to the tendon insertion point being further away from the joint. Orthopaedic surgeons are very reluctant to go in and start screwing around with the dynamics of a patient's joints.
