Atleti really needed a good forward this last months, the UEFA suspension really hit them had. They are still #2 in la liga, but they screwed CL this season. But he also got them a red card

He is, with respect to infractions against the opposing team. I dont think he expected to get a second yellow for the crowd celebration.. or he might have not cared. But he gets yellows all the time and will drive the opposition raving mad. Definately the best dirty player for a while now. Havent seen someone as good as Costa since Ricardo Carvalho and Carvalho was a different style, alot more subtle. Suppose he had to be being a defender. This Barcelona Coutinho January move makes absolutely no fucking sense. Sometimes the management at that club is bloody mad.

Replacing a player of that calibre is whole another thing of course. It doesnt hurt but it doesnt help much either, its a very expensive league win inusrance policy at best. They would have got him in the summer anyway. Liverpool decided they wanted a slightly sweeter deal then guarantee themselves a top 4 + a decent run in other tournaments. I can understand the players urgency to move as irrational as it sounds it cant be helped. But thats where sense from management teams comes into play and it was all missing. I see the other view aswell off making the player feeling really wanted etc etc. But I find that thought process extrelemy dumb.

I think Barça was trying to sign a big Brazilian player to replace Neymar just for that reason. Brazil + Nike, marketing move. Actually, even if they signed him in summer, it wouldn't make that much sense. Is he supposed to replace Iniesta? Because he's not the same kind of player. Is he supposed to be one of the 3 in front? Then why buy Dembélé? And we won't know for a while, Valverde cannot bench him at that price, but cannot put him in his big night team since he can't play CL. Awesome.
