City might have been paid by their owners self sponsoering them which is supposedly against the rules but again UEFA don't really care. FFP hasn't been followed properly, when they finally said to Man City your not following, all they did is fined them money and made them instead of have a 23 man Champions league only allowed to register 18 players lol Chelsea are exactly like that. Corrupted businessman buys oil companies for peanuts in Russia and makes billions. King owns oil and makes billions. Spend money on football a club, where is the difference????

The other point being issued here is how abusive of the system it might be if the PSG owners give Neymar £220 million to buy himself out of his contract and PSG negate all FFP rulings or whatever lol

He's a sponsor magnet x) Plus they're starting to be a solid top 5-8 in Europe, the sponsoring deals make a lot more sense now. If Qatar was just sponsoring PSG there would be no problem at all, the problem is solely if they sidestep rules about sponsoring and just give Neymar 500m to buy out his own contract.

Oil billionaires spending on their vanity projects. I dont think it is a bad thing btw. Sucks that those people got super rich by questionable means, but it is a good thing if they spend that money, especially if they do it in Europe (from a European pov).

From a football fan perspective, football is in a bad state imo. It would be so much better if the best players were playing in different teams and if CL games were interesting before the round of 8 or more than two clubs had a shot to be champion in a given championship.

That uneven distribution has always existed though. Different clubs always have different resources. Bayern in the Bundesliga and Real/Barca in Spain are totally dominating and it is not because of outside investment. And the EPL which has the most outside investment is actually the most even league at the top.

And the EPL which has the most outside investment is actually the most even league at the top. TV rights distribution in Spain is insane, 60% for Real and Barca, 40% for the other 18 teams but I believe it changed recently while Chelsea barely won more than the last team. Champion's league money should also be distributed more evenly. The thing is that football is normally a high variance sport and that even the best team should not win that often. It's no longer the case given the huge asymetry between the top teams and the rest. I believe a small drop of the quality of top teams could be enough to make everything more interesting and let variance do its work.

On the case though, from the laymen perspective I think la liga has no case. It is not up to them to decide if the cash PSG has raised is against FFP or not. As long as the cash is real, then they have no reason to reject despite the high quantum. It's a willing buyer capable of meeting the selling price. Uefa/FIFA would be the one who decides if and how PSG should be punished.

Post a pic of it like Floyd Maywether does with his PPV checks. Then it's on Barcelona to beg La Liga to cash it for them.

Yes and now before all this drama Barcelona refused to sign an extension with Qatar for the sponsorship so another interesting fact, especially with rumours saying Neymar is going to be given a huge self sponsorship by Qatar to be the face of the 2022 world cup over there. Next minute he is in PSG shirt who the rich Qatari's own :D Anyway, all in all we should be agreeing that what La Liga doing right now is hurting, Barcelona more than anyone else. PSG are going to get Neymar, however Barcelona want their money so they can re invest it. Oh Ligue 1 replied to La Liga with a statement + Show Spoiler +
