All of the managers were invited back. If you're interested, send me $15 - see your inbox for my paypal and let me know your paypal address and yahoo team name (still the same). If you're not interested in participating, please PM me.
Sorry for the delay in responses. Got a baby now so that's keeping me busy not checking on TL. Will PM people back tomorrow.
For the managers that are returning, anything we want changed? I think there was something about waivers people mentioned last season but too lazy to check.
So what changes do people want to see so we can discuss them? There were a few mentioned during the season (waivers being one but I forget the exact details).
The draft is tentatively set for August 26th in the evening EST (6 I think?). I'm cool with pushing it earlier in the day (looking at you GTR)!
I know there were a few discussions on possible changes so let's get that going. Otherwise, no bitching during the season (lol, as if that'd ever happen).

i might have work at 6pm est (it will be a monday morning for me)
i'm happy to wake up early at 6am my time and have the draft at 4pm EST, or is that too early for some people? alternative, can always do a friday/saturday night... if people aren't out (lol)
edit: trying to send money to dk but paypal is asking me for a $7 fee wtf?

You really going to drop?
Yea; I was involved in too many leagues last year (8) and I felt like I didn't have enough time to concentrate on individual leagues. I missed a lot of waiver pickups and stuff like that, so i'm trying to downsize my league participation.
That being said, if you guys are short a slot and need a filler, I'm willing to fill it. Just thought I could give someone else my spot if they're going to be more involved than I was last year.

Right, so it wasn't just me.
I admit I don't check my Yahoo box that often, but when I saw this thread yesterday I went to take a look and I didn't have anything there. There was an email about FF in general opening up that was sent by Yahoo, but nothing about this league. So not just you.
Would love to do an additionally league and my gf would like to join as well as our usually league got cancelled as our friends don’t want to do it anymore. So that’s two right there lol
Sorry about the radio silence. Been travelling extensively with the baby and this took a backseat.
Apologies - I thought I sent something out via Yahoo but obviously, fucked it up.
We're at 11/12 with darth dropping out. Sent a PM to woody. c0ldfusion and xDaunt still need to join the league; invites were sent via your Yahoo addresses.

ok well i've done "send to friends" but its still charging me an expectorant amount in fees. this is most likely because i'm the only non-NA person trying to send money to dk.
as i said before, i've never had this problem in previous years. any ideas of how to get around this? i really don't want to pay $6 in fees for a $15 entry if possible.

Have you tired paying someone else? And they just pay your amount added. PM me if you want me to try.
any qualms changing draft to 5pm EST? i have to head to work at 7pm (well not 7pm my time, but you get the picture), so i think a draft at 6pm won't work out for me.

Can we move it to 4:30? I have a draft at 5:30pm EST. I can maybe work two drafts 1hr apart, but 30mins is to close.
QB: Cam Newton WR: Michael Thomas, Juju Smith-Schuster, Devin Funchess, Courtland Sutton RB: Leonard Fournette, Jay Ajayi, Carlos Hyde, Bilal Powell, Nick Chubb, Alfred Morris TE: George Kittle, Jack Doyle DEF: Philadelphia K: Greg Zuerlein
I'm reasonably happy with this team. There aren't as many boom/bust picks as I usually have. Kittle is one of the exceptions, but I think that he's going to be one of Jimmy G's favorite targets, particularly in the red zone. I wish I had a little more potential boom/bust juice in the RB corps to back up my starters, but I should get steady production from the backups if Fournette or Ajayi goes down.
QB: Matt Ryan, Jameis Winston WR: Anotnio Brown, Marvin Jones, Chris Godwin, Mike Williams RB: Joe Mixon, Mark Ingram, Tevin Coleman, Sony Michel, Rashaad Penny, TJ Yeldon TE: Gronk DEF: Patriots K: Jake Elliott
Outside of picking Penny and Ryan because I ran out of time im pretty happy about the team. (Yahoo thinks penny is my best pick of the draft lol). I reached for a lot of my guys and ended up with a lot of the guys I was targetting pre draft. As its 8 team playoff league I went more risky than I would normally do and picking up a bunch of suspended and injured players, but I do think I have huge upside if my guys end up winning the jobs. Hopefully things work as planned and I will have a championship worthy roster come week5-7
QB: DeShaun Watson, Jimmy G. WR: Keenan Allen, T.Y. Hilton, Will Fuller, Michael Gallup, D.J. Moore RB: Alvin Kamara, Kenyan Drake, Kerryon Johnson, Adrian Peterson TE: Trey Burton, Jordan Reed DEF: Carolina K: Matt Bryant
Really excited for this team. Just crossing my fingers Allen and Watson don't blow their knees again lol.
I got Jordan Reed in the 9th round of another league i'm in. Understandable given the injury concerns, but considering I had drafted him in like round 4 in previous years, him in the 9th feels like a steal. He has the ability to win your week, and with a 9th round investment, *if* he stays healthy (which he won't) he might be THE best value pick this year. If he doesn't, well it's only a 9th round pick.

I think that is definitely accurate.
I like my team but I feel like my yahoo projected (7-6) is reasonable. My team is fairly dependent on hitting a few of those rb stabs and wentz being healthy. But 12 team league with 4pts for passing td I will probably be okay if I need to do waivers for a few weeks at qb
QB: Tom Brady, Ben Roethlisberger WR: Tyreek Hill, Michael CrabTree, Emmanuel Sanders, Ted Ginn, JR, Kendall Wright (I feel this is where I'm some what lacking) RB: Le'Veon Bell, Lamar Miller, Doug Martin, Chris Thompson TE: Zach Ertz, Tyler Eifert K: Wil Lutz DEF: LAC
QB: Matthew Stanford, Patrick Mahomes RB: Ezekiel Elliot, Marshawn Lynch, Marlon Mack, Aaron Jones WR: A.J. Green, Jarvis Landry, Corey Davis, Julian Edelman, Kenny Golladay, Paul Richardson Jr. TE: Travis Kelce K: Matt Prater D: Pittsburgh Steelers
Mixed feelings about my team. I love my core of zeke green and kelce. Landry should be a solid and consistent wr2. I think lynch is undervalued. I think he still has it and underperformed due to his team last year. Rated one of the best last year in breaking tackles and juke rate. Marlon Mack I am a truther on and a took a shot at Aaron jones but not that confident on it. I have no idea how the packers backfield will shake out.
I hate my Corey Davis pick and wish I didn’t draft him but he seemed the best value at the time. I just feel like he has devantae Parker/josh doctson written all over him. I think Edelman was a good insurance policy for my flex but I have to wait 4 games.
Golladay and Richardson are two upside guys that have the potential and capability to be primary targets on their teams. Golladay less so and needs an injury to Tate or jones . Richardson will surprise people and im not a believer in doctson.
Can’t believe I got Stafford so late. He’s my starter to guarantee solid production while mahomes is my upside pick hoping for a breakout. He sure has the talent to do so
QB: Russel Wilson WR: Larry Fitzgerald, Demaryius Thomas, Cooper Kupp, Nelson Agholor, Kenny Stills (Barf) RB: Kareem Hunt, Dalvin Cook, Dion Lewis, Corey Clement, Spencer Ware, Latavius Murray TE: David Njoku D/ST: Who cares K: Who cares
Feels like a draft from 7-8 years ago with all the early action on the RBs and patience with the QBs, will be interesting to see how it plays this year
Yeah, lots of good QBs went late in this draft. I hesitated a bit when Cam was still available at 60, but I took him anyway, figuring that I was probably getting value there. The alternative was to take Goodwin, whom I really wanted. The other guy I took at that spot (last pick sucks with the back to back picks) was Carlos Hyde. I figured that RB is a bit more of a premium position than WR given our league rules, so I took Hyde over Goodwin. The other hard decision that I had was whether to take Michael Thomas or Julio Jones. I opted for Thomas just because I didn't like having Julio on my team last year and Thomas is less of an injury risk.
EDIT: Aveng3r -- ah, so you're the prick who took Clement from me. Damn you.
Also Bravo everyone on that draft performance, perfect attendance and not a single autopick by my count, I'm not sure if I've ever had the pleasure of that before

Honestly, you're pretty close to having a really damned good team. I think you over-invested in WR, though. Relying on McKinnon and Freeman as your RBs is a bit of a roll of the dice, so I'd have hedged a little more.

I actually like your team except for the cooks and Evan Engram picks. I like Engram and cooks but cooks is in a bad situation imo and you can find similar value to Engram much later in the draft. I really like your 0 rb start iwith julio and obj. And despite that you actually got two really high upside rbs that could shake out to have solid seasons. I wouldn’t be too bummed

I'd be surprised to see Bell anytime in the next 3-4weeks. 2x franchise tag, touches the ball more than any other player in the NFL, Steelers not even discussing an extension, then the team shits on him.
RBs have a small window and the Steelers just want a discount on one of the (maybe THE) best back in the NFL. They want to wait until he gets "too old" or gets "too many touches" so they can tell Bell that's why they won't pay him the price he deserves.
14 mil a year ain't bad, if he plays this year and doesn't get hurt someone will give him his 5 year 60 after and he will come out of his career with nearly 100 mil. Not a bad living.
I swear I'm not tanking my team, my buddy is beyond reason, and believes D. Johnson will have a shitty game this week. So I either get to look like a fantasy god here by benching him, or I get too hold this over my friends head for the rest of the year, kind of a win win for me.

Brutal start for sure, but hard to imagine you have 2 better options?

DeSean Jackson. ... He also kept in Sammy Watkins and I didnt notice in time, but I think that was a mistake more than actual thought process, we are in Seven league, and that was an oppis.
Can I just take a moment to bitchmoan and complain that out of 4 leagues I did this year, I am absolutely running away with points against in 2 of them, this one included

Yeah, you are taking it in the pooper. I thought I had it pretty bad, but I'm still like 70 points behind you, lol.

I am having a crazy week. I hit 174 in one league and won. At 167 at halftime and I am losing... I have John brown and he has KC's kicker with 176 points. Both these leagues 120-30 is a good week. Nuts.
Corey Davis is on waivers in my FAAB league. What kinda bid should I put in? I've still got about $80. 3WR + Flex: Jones, Cooper, Lockett, M Jones, Jeffrey, Crabtree

Max bid I think. Though you still might not get him as there probably will be someone willing to spend 100%
On October 03 2018 04:08 QuanticHawk wrote: I was thinking somewhere in the $30 range. Boyd went for 29 and Galloway 26. But might not be wrong.
Those guys are wr2. Davis is projected to be a wr1 and getting over 30% target volume. It depends on the other guys in your league in how they value and spend their faab. I would definitely spend more than what people paid for Boyd or Calloway/golladay not sure which one.
On October 03 2018 21:13 QuanticHawk wrote: Got him for 61. Next highest was 12 haha
Lol well I’m glad you didn’t spend everything like I said. I still think it was the right call despite your league mates undervaluing him. He’s going to be a wr1 ros with the target share he’s getting especially with walker and Matthews gone and mariota looking recovered from that elbow injury. I don’t think you will find someone better on the wire this season unless someone gets dropped.
So apparently there's been a trend going around of removing the TE position from leagues. A league I'm in is now talking about it and either replacing it altogether or changing the TE to a WR/TE position due to the inherent weakness in the position these days. Whatcha y'all think?
i was thinking to make fantasy a bit more fun by changing up the positions to emulate a real 11-man offense and the potential formation it could have (minus the o-line of course)
qb (duh) wr/rb wr/rb wr/rb/te wr/te wr/te
it would completely change the dynamic of the draft though and will probably break scoring.
Id rather do want gtr said than dk. It wasnt that long ago that te could nt be in flex and it got added to because there were people who wanted to dress 2. It is too cylical, and I think makes nore interesting roster spots if you need one. Or maybe just completely open like gtr is suggesting.
My team in this league has been infuriating me. I figured I’d be middle of the pack but goddamn my players piss me off.
What’s funny is there is a decent amount of overlap with my other two teams, both of which are 4-1.
Also weird is in those two leagues, the other top teams went rb heavy in the first 5 rounds. I’ve stopped drafting like that for a couple years because it always murdered me lol

It’s what happens when you draft Amari Cooper. I have him I two other leagues along with Chris hogan who I recently dropped. Cooper round 3 hogan round 4 ooooof
In other wonderful news, entered last night with a 50 something point lead with Peterson playing and facing brees and Thomas. And lost by .11 due to brees throwing late.
On October 15 2018 11:04 Oystein wrote: How does the IR work? Can I get people of there anytime or do I need to wait x amount of weeks?
anytime. As long as they're listed as OUT or I.R. However, if the status changes you can't make any add/drops until you remove them from the I.R. slot.
Honestly, I thought starting a defense on a short week was a bad choice (well, it was for GTR but apparently, defenses score significantly more on a short week than they do on Sunday) and David Johnson would bounce back against one of the worst run defenses in the league. I forgot how bad the Cardinals were, though, and that Rosen was their starter.
I should just not fiddle with my lineup before game time as it's fucked me over more than it's helped but I can't help it sometimes...
On October 19 2018 10:18 JimmiC wrote: I sucks that there is a points against category that I believe doesn't weed out when the other team scores TDs.
In Yahoo, at least, defensive TDs do not count against a defense's PA.
interesting! I always thought it was simply just points against. I know Special teams Td's often count for defenses, do you know if those points count against?

In all mainstream leagues, if the Def/ST isn't on the field, point are not counted against them. If you look at the full name in the yahoo league, it says Pos Defense/Special Teams, ESPN calls it D/ST. As a general rule, if a Def or Special team is on the field, and they get scored on, it's counted against them. So if the other team gets a pick 6, that TD doesn't count against you, but the extra point(or two point conversion) is counted against you.
Now that we are on this topic, If the D/ST scores, your D/ST gets the points and the individual player gets nothing, but if a fumble happens, the player gets -2 points, but the D/ST loses nothing.....I haven't forgotten Wes Welker!
On October 23 2018 03:31 QuanticHawk wrote: In one league I was looking good with Gordon Michel Breida and Powell. All but one of those guys are dead now
Yeah, I've had all sorts of injury problems with my RBs. Fournette, Ajayi, Powell ... and I think that there was another.
But frankly, what pisses me off more than anything else is the PHI Defense. What a bunch of losers. Champs, my ass.
I really hope Bell comes back this week... it’ll definitely push my team especially with a really healthy Bell. Oystein seemed to have his worst week against me, but has a reasonably good team T_T luck again.

He's not coming back this year. It hurts, i know. But at this point you can't trade him, because no one will give up anyone but a flex start on him at this point. Your best bet is to trade him to a top team that can afford to trade away a good player in the forlorn hope that bell comes back, and makes his team a shoe in for the champs.
But right now all Bell owners can do is send their prayers, update there Facebook profile, and hope this time he really will come back... (he won't).
If you don't need him this week I would pick up Bibbs from Was. From what I have seen he runs hard, and there seems like a decent shot AP breaks down. Was is also committed to the run.

Any input guys? Thx
Reposted from the NFL thread
I would go with Watson. The bills do a surprisingly good job at stopping passing yards(see Brady’s stats from Monday) and teams usually are into eating the clock mode pretty early because of how bad the O is.
Man, I need to stop making last minute changes to my team and just let my gut decision ride. Decided to start Oakland since SF is in a fucked up spot (3rd string QB, 3 offensive linemen out), and statistically, defenses always perform better on a Thursday night game due to the short week.

haha same. I needed a QB filler and last second did Carr since he's playing the 9ers.... jesus. That is a broken man at this point.
I still think he'd be a pretty good QB on a decent club.

Carr wasn't the problem last night. The Raiders' OL was. The Niners have arguably the worst pass rushers in the league (especially at the edge), yet they had six sacks last night. The Raiders simply quit last night.
Ugh. I hear ya. I'm losing in my other money league because I left Gronk in over my other TE, Watson, who put up 13 riding the bench. Fantasy can be so cruel.
Anyone in redraft leagues that allow pick trades for the following year? We have a 1 win team and I’m trying to grab hunt from him. Never done this before so I’m trying to gauge what is a reasonable pick

Much as I do trust the process, I will not be trading Hunt for future draft picks.
I've got a yahoo fantasy football career record to worry about!
Trying to fill my flex spot in a standard league. I have breida, Olsen, cooper, Davis, and Bryant all on my bench. Leaning towards one of the first 3:
Breida - hurt and mullens may struggle. Also awful giants team. Olsen - been pretty steady. I think this is probably the safest play of the three Cooper - this would be purely volume
Not Bredia, he has not looked his self in weeks. He scares me because the niners had a huge week and he did not.
I think Cooper could be huge, they are clearly trying to get him involved and make the steep price they paid appear worth. Olsen is solid and has redzone up side.
If I needed to hit a homerun I'd go cooper, if I could win the week with a double I'd dress Olsen. Nothing like mixing the sports metaphors to be super clear.... =-)
All valid points. I decided to roll with Cooper. I'm already an 11 point favorite, but I feel Cooper probably has a decent enough floor due to there being so few passing options there and what you said. Thanks!
re: trading picks, He asked for 1-2-3 lmao. I'm the antagonistic dick of that league (different than the one I just posted about) so I probably earned that haha. My team would be hard to improve in that league, but the guy I am tied for first with has an absolute monster of a team. He has topped 180 3x and 190 2x. Mahommes, Gurley, and Conner have been crushing it for him.
It is so hard to say since Daniel is a "veteran Back up" but I think he will be ok he has been in the system all year I don't think they are going to make big changes in the offense for him. Baldwin for some reason is like forgotten in the Sea offense so I would be worried about him and then Kirk seems to get lots of targets but his production is boom or bust.
I'd stick with Cohen but I could see the reasoning behind kirk.
Sorry for fielding 2 non starters last week. I have not given up, just was so busy at work I forgot to set the lineup Sunday. Would have won my week too
Still got boned. I had a 6 win team lose, but GoldenCompany won and he's well ahead of me in points (how the fuck are you only 6th) so I am toast even if we tied. Womp womp. I am all over the place with the results in this damn league and I thought I had a pretty good squad this year. At least playoff team.
I'm 9-3 and 1st in one league and 8-4 and tied for 1st in another. How'd everyone else do in their other leagues??
also, just a recommendations, just because it came up in another league with similar settings. We allow draft pick trades. I am down with that. But I think it should come with the agreement that the teams should both pay next year's dues at the time of the trade if they do that. We do have some new heads though, so there is turnover, so might make sense to kill it.
I definitely caught some breaks when I was dealing with so many injury issues at RB during the first half of the season. But I think I'm pretty good shape heading into the playoffs now that Fournette is back and Chubb has panned out into a solid RB2.
EDIT: And of course that mothefucker Fournette had to go and get suspended for a game. At least it isn't playoffs yet.
First place here I come again. I hope I don't lose next game vs xDaunt again... but doesn't matter at this point. Just need my team to do good from playoff on out, which it looks like I did some fine pickups these last couple of weeks, and play Baker in quarter.

I'm 9-3 and 1st in one league and 8-4 and tied for 1st in another. How'd everyone else do in their other leagues??
also, just a recommendations, just because it came up in another league with similar settings. We allow draft pick trades. I am down with that. This year has really taken it out of me. Did 4 leagues, most I've ever done previously in a season is 2.
In this league and another, I am the leader in points against. In another league I am 2nd most points against. Doesn't seem possible. In 4th league my team just stinks.
Furthermore I really feel like the season was swayed strongly by the predraft order. In a game where a flubbed first pick really kills you, I was 10th pick or later in 3 out of 4 leagues. I ended up with a lot of Dalvin Cook, Leonard Fournette, etc. Early picks had the luxury of Gurley, Kamara, Barkely, Elliott, etc. I know we all had the same shot at the midround and lateround players that fill out a good roster but it just didn't happen for me. Only 1 out of 4 teams is going to make the playoffs and it may well win it all so at least theres that but overall this has been a mightily frustrating fantasy season.

Cool and fournette were on my do not draft list. Both for different reasons. It is why at that spot it was smart to go wr /wr especially if you miss out on hunt or mccaffery.

I dunno about going WR/WR at that spot. I was last pick in the TL draft and spent quite a bit of time thinking about how I wanted to approach the draft. What I concluded was that I pretty much had to grab an RB with one of the first two picks given that my third pick was effectively a fourth rounder, at which point RB was a total crap shoot, and I'd be at risk of not having viable RBs. In contrast, there were lots of decent receivers that would still be available in the fourth round. In fact, I had Juju specifically in mind as someone that would likely be available and whom I could take there, which is exactly what I did. I have no doubt that WR/RB was the right call for the first two rounds. Where I potentially messed up was in taking Fournette over McCaffery, but if Jacksonville starts running the offense through Fournette again during the fantasy playoffs, I should be okay.
In my 10 man league, I drafted 9 and got Jones and Gordon. I am 8-4 In my 12 man league, I drafted 11 and got Jones and Beckham. I am 9-3
Would gone WR-WR in the first if Gordon wasn't available. I was also money on late round and waiver RBs this year. Drafted Michel in the 1st league and scooped up Breida and Barber. That second league I drafted Coleman, Michel, and Peterson.
McCaffrey went late in both leagues oddly enough. .

Could've made defensible arguments for either strategy, hindsight 20-20, yadayada.
I have the top waiver claim in my other league. Debating between adding Ito Smith or Rams D. I am leaning Rams since they have a pretty good schedule down the stretch and Seatlle has KC next week. Standard + 6pt tds, big play/big day bonuses, and D bonuses for sacks, ints, etc:
Ivory and McGuire are. I agree, they're worth a look. But their status is uncertain at the moment since the starters aren't ruled out and I don't really think that's worth 1st waiver? I feel like Smith is probably better than either too or is that crazy
I would be worried because coleman is there. You need smith to score a TD to be worth it. And I've been burned by Atl Rb's all year so I'd be gun shy. I guess it depends if you don't really need one I might take the above guys and only play him if the starter is ruled out. But if you need one Smith is safer just less upside.
So I am pretty iffy on Peterson and Coleman heading into this week because of recent performances. Though I don't know I'd start Barber (vs Bal) or any of those other guys over those two. And I don't think I'd start any of those WRs over them either. So I may or may not need them.
Rams have Philly this week and Arizona next. I'd probably start Seattle @ SF this week but that's a good grab.
I'm still going to put in a second claim and try to get at least one of these guys, but I'm first up for the first claims.
This is just a gut feeling but I bet the eagles are due to get SMOKED this week. Deflating loss last week that pretty much wrapped up any playoff chances, and rams probably coming in pissed off after a poor show last week
In my other money league, .5 PPR...Who to start? DJ Moore, Doug Martin, or Gus Edwards. Or James Conner can just magically be healthy, play, and save my ass =((

I'd normally say DJ Moore, but the real question is what do we think of Cam Newton? Is he really hurt? I sure as hell don't like that the Panthers are playing the Saints this weekend.
Yeah, that was my concern, too (and living in NC, it's getting a lot of attention). On the other hand, I'm thinking it's going to be a shootout and Moore looking like the #1 WR/TE target, he should have a good game and I need someone with a much higher ceiling...After crushing the league, looks like I'm going to lose since Mahomes/Hill had their worst games whereas my opponent started Williams. Fucking hate fantasy sometimes.

Why do you think it's going to be a shootout? The Saints have been playing lockdown D since the Rams game, and even before, it was clear that they were rounding into form after a rough start to the season.
I'm optimistic about Cam's injured shoulder and the Panthers have a pretty good offense. Plus, McCaffrey is a beast. It's also a result of too much local sports radio talking up the Panthers. And with Olsen out and Funchless getting worked out of the system, should be better for Moore.

In my other league I need 12 points from him and I honestly am not sure I will get it
Thank you thank you. As your gladiolus champion I pledge to remind dk of my excellence every day. My best Christmas present will be him sending me money
Didn't he say it was being donated to charity? > lmao
either way, great season, it was crazy though, even more people hurt/not playing this year than last I felt. Any other games that you all play fantasy?
As your fearless champion and king of the idiots I propose we move the draft time back to 8pm est so I have enough time to return from fist pumping on the beach
