Today, It's Gosu eSports is pleased to announce the signing of Korean Protoss player, HwangSin to its Starcraft II lineup. In doing so, It's Gosu joins a very exclusive club of North American teams which have signed top-tier Korean talent.
HwangSin is a former member of Korean based MVP, and whose most recent achievements include first place finishes in TL Opens #16 and #18.
Concerning his decision to join the It's Gosu eSports Starcraft II lineup, HwangSin said:
“I was in Korean team, but I had a bigger dream so I chose to compete alone. As I talked with people from different countries and as I streamed, I tied bonds with It's Gosu and knew I wanted to join their team. Thanks for letting me join It's Gosu, and I'll do my best for the team!”
Over the past week, HwangSin had been practicing with It's Gosu eSports, playing as many as 40 games a day with the team and forming the bonds and friendships which eventually lead to his decision.
It's Gosu Team Manager, Scott “Rumcake” Ball spearheaded the signing of the HwangSin.
“As team manager of It's Gosu eSports, I am so proud to announce the recent addition of HwangSin to our lineup,” Ball said. “He will be attending an integral part of our team composition, and will help the team succeed as a whole, not just by competing himself, but through what he will bring to our team in terms of practice and experience.”
Ball continued, praising the fact that HwangSin will not only bring his own talent to the team, but will help capitalize on the high talent level of all of his current players, as well.
“Having him as a teammate will benefit us in so many ways,” Ball said. “Having a player who understand the Korean practice mentality will allow all of our players to rise to the next level of play. We're all unbelievably excited to see HwangSin competing at all top level foreign events in the future.”
HwangSin will be attending all remaining MLG events in 2011 except for Anaheim, which he will unfortunately have to miss due to issues concerning his VISA.
It's Gosu eSports Executive Manager, Aaron “Ayesee” Chambers hailed the signing as a true turning point for It's Gosu eSports, and as a sign of the professionalism and talent within the team.
“When It's Gosu acquired All4ONE Gaming and formed our Starcraft II team, we knew without a doubt that we were adding one of the most talented teams in North America to our family,” Chambers said. “Today, the truth in that is even more obvious. Scott is an amazing team manager, and one of the most passionate men in eSports. Through his hard work, and through the hard work and dedication of each and every one of our players, It's Gosu has managed to earn recognition as one of the most important up-and-coming names in eSports, especially in North America. This has all culminated with our announcement today. We are proud and honored to have not only HwangSin as part of our team, but every other player, as well... this group of guys really is quite special, and we can't wait to show that to the world throughout the rest of 2011, and into the future.”
In his first appearance as a member of It's Gosu eSports, HwangSin will be playing in the EG Masters Cup Qualifiers taking place July 6-10, 2011.

He is. GoSuPokebunny just has to many characters in it so he had to shorten it.

This is a serious goal we have. Hoping to make it happen sooner then later. FXO is there right now showing its a possibility which is awesome.

I didn't know Pokebunny left VT.

GoSu roster getting stronger...

This is exciting. Congrats to Gosu and I hope having a player of HwangSin's abilities will really help the entire team. Congrats!

gz signing him up... but i believe HwangSin is way above any of those guys level, he definately could of tried for a bigger team.

You guys are starting to get a pretty sick line up, grats and best of luck =D

Congrats guys, really making a name for yourselves
Nice, I really like his play. Your roster is getting strong, be top tier foreign team any day now
Hwangsin asked me a few days ago if ItsGosu is good. I told em go ahead . Gratz
Do sc2 korean pros receive any sallary?
Wow very solid addition, he should continue to do wonders. The Foreign Team Signing Korean Craze continues.
I daresay you'll do well in TLOpens, just an intuition.
best of luck, dudes! the addition of korean talent to the foreigner scene can only mean a boost to the general level of non-korean SC2! I'm ok with that
Nice pickup! Even though I'm not a fan of the team name, best of luck!
Hwangsin for TLOpen 19,20,21,........100 :D
Hwangsin is an extremely good player.
Good luck to It's Gosu. I only wish your name wasn't so cumbersome.

Holy hell. This is HUGE. Hwang was close to being MVP A team. This is great, I look forward to him playing and winning in many tournaments. Hwangsin Whaiting!!!

Wow, all these koreans to international teams is great news.

Quite a bit of the randoms are pretty good. ^^ Kyhol I think took #2 in a TL Open once. It was before they counted for TSL 3 and before Koreans joined them but still. :D

About time somebody picked up hwangsin. Very nice pick up, I will keep an eye out for him in tournaments.

I thank everyone that thanks me. I am really happy. I look forward to seeing in the future as GoSuHwangSin. I will work hard. :D

Great news! Good luck to both It's Gosu and HwangSin.

I think it's interesting that Koreans are participating in more foreign teams, sort of like how foreigners have moved to Korea to participate there!
Hurray for globalization! xD

Did anyone else read it as Hwasin and get super excited?
Oh well good luck to you.

Cool man, look forward to seeing you kicking ass in the foreign scene.

Anyone who would write HwangSin off as a mid level korean would be sorely mistaken. This guy has beaten some of the best players in the world. Anyone who can play 40 games a day is alright in my books

Awesome! So awesome Now I'm believing in ItsGosu a lot more. The rest on the team better rise to his level!

The top top players are guys like Idra, Sheth, and Kiwi. But a lot of the guys on this team are really really beastly. ^^
is hwangsin staying in korea? Congratulations to you guys btw. so awesome
I know Kyhol is good cuz I saw him in FXOpen taking out oGsHero and theSTC I think.
Nice roster you have acquired, best of luck to you all!
nice! Great recruitment its gosu and looking forward to future events that you'll be competing in.
Sonkie and Richman figghhhhting!
I am seriously loving all of these Korean pros joining foreign teams. I really hope this means more of them at MLG!
On July 07 2011 10:39 chAse_ wrote: a couple of D-players from asia.. so what? why this post?
Because this might be just the tip of the iceberg, a sign of whats hopefully yet to come. At the moment it might be nothing more than a couple of mid-tier NBA players leaving for Europe for and above average salary.
But if those experiments are successful, the koreans are happy getting more foreign exposure and the foreigners getting some "korean" skill(whatever that means), it can lead to even bigger korean names joining western teams(and therefore sponsors) or even lead to something the totally opposite way, really good foreigners joining really good korean teams.
And, judging from the last few TLOpens, even your so called "d-players from asia" are more than strong enough to show us a few things.
On a side note, i wonder if Day9´s new copany tourney turns out well Facebook, Intel or Google will "hire", offer a "intern" spot or anything to some progamers, korean or western Now THAT would be maybe the next big step to a real real pro sport with teams
Can't say I ever heard of this team. And they suddenly have a Korean... ^^;
When I first saw this thread, I was like "wasn't hwasin permabanned from gaming?"
Wow! Hwangsin is a league above all the other players on his team.. (no offence guys) I hope you have a good training regimen, you're going to need it if you want to catch up to his level
congrats HwangSin and Gosu! great player pickup!
wow nice pickup hwangsin is a MONSTER
Looks like the huk-effect is beginning. Korean training go~! Grats on the pick-up and grats to hwangsin!
Pretty reasonable team now :D
hwangsin and my boy perplexity, go Gosu!
Nice
But i feel HwangSin was a bit too eager getting a sponsor outside Korea, It's Gosu is great but the guy is pretty darn good, he could get into a really great team if he tried.
wow, was waiting so hard that he´s gonna play today for MvP and take down oGs :// Potential guy!
Can't wait to see how he performs in the rest of the MLG events. Best of luck to him and his new team =D
Man he's a bit of an outlier but I'm sure the team will be awesome
Great player. I love watching his stream.
It's extremely strange, however, that he chooses an English-speaking team. Judging from his stream, his English, though passable, is not very good. I'm sure it'll get better though.
wonderful pickup... congratulations :p
Good stuff! Congratulations.
Wasn't Rumcake manager for some dota teams?
wow... hwangsin is gonna destroy some tournaments
Wow. GREAT pick-up. Looking forward to seeing more of HwangSin, but it's also great to see more NA teams really gear up and get really competitive. Between these guys, Complexity, and Reign, there are quite a few north american teams that look like they're on the rise.
Nice pick! Grarz to Its Gosu.
It's who?
never heard of them, time to change that i guess
Never heard of this team but it's awesome nonetheless.
Very good sign. Will be nice to see him in more tournaments
Right on It's GoSu! Looks like you're adding on to existing talent and HwangSin can look forward to being a part of a team with high aspirations and the skills to make a name for themselves in upcoming tournaments.
Really shocked to see former VT & ONE gamers already on the roster, had no idea!
The ONE players are there because it is ONE. We were acquired by ItsGosu not to long ago. Has been great so far :D

I dont mean to be offensive but I'd never heard of this team before now (although granted 1 or 2 players I recognised). Im curious as to what their best performances at big-ish LANs have been? Have they had any real success? I'm not saying HwangSin is a bad player, I am saying he is a smart person for being able to capitalize on these opportunities that few of the Korean players can get. There aren't a whole lot of tournaments in Korea at the moment either.
Holy shit, another great Korean player signed by a NA team, good catch Gosu
I expected HwangSin to join a better team later on as he just a few days ago said he didn't wanna play in a team for now. I hope you guys get some good practice. GL
Nice!
This is really the trend right now, will be very interesting to see what players Sk gaming will pick up in Korea, now when they kicked their whole old team.

Congrates to It´s Gosu/One and also Hwangsin.

How borring for teamleagues, "team random" win win win .. Sin enters, Allkill... move along, nothing to see here !

There are no "foreigner tournaments" any more though.
Wherever he goes, he's still going to run into Code S players in MC, July, Bomber, MMA, HuK or the ZeNeX online cup army, Moon etc. The odd tournament here and there with a four digit prize money and no Korean players (last one I can remember was TB's invitational) doesn't seem like a really strong incentive to me.
I don't know, I'm personally not a big fan of people who sort of pick the "easy road" (which doesn't even exist anymore anyway), but to each his own. I can't see them accomplishing much in the long run or competing at the highest levels.
hwangsin is a terrifying protoss, good he's got a team
Haven't seen too much from this team but with the new addition it will surely help. Hopefully some of these players will step it up to become top players!
Wow this is great for It's Gosu signing a player of this caliber!
I was hoping Hwangsin would join a team soon! However I have not heard of It's Gosu previously, best of luck both.

For those saying that he is on a whole different level then the rest of his team, we really appreciate that you guys feel so confident in hwangs ability. We know he is an amazing player and are very fortunate to have him. I hope you guys take the time to watch some of our games at Anaheim, from the other players on the team. I think you will be surprised at the level of play our team offers as a whole. Thanks for all the positive feedback, I know HwangSin checks this thread and really appreciates it.
