I'm glad to read that it's not that serious. Was scared that he would have broken his arm for the third time in 6 months.
I think the funniest part (other then the joke that is slasher) was that Raelcun (sp?) was running with the camera for a first person view and ended up falling. Wow.

What actually happened: Demuslim fell and scraped his arm. They put a bandage on it.
IMO this is a silly thread.
Now if Demuslim fell and scraped up his hands... ok i could understand the concern. (and yes i understand he had broken arms before and the surgery, but seriously idk how you can trip in a relay race and break your arm and i have broken the same arm twice... well broke it once... cut off cast to play sport after 2 weeks... rebroke it... got 2nd cast.. took it off to play sports... my right wrist makes a wierd clicking noise but im ok)
anyways ya this is an interesting/silly thread getting kinda blown out of proportion IMO (i could be wrong he could have gotten some career/life threatening scrape i guess)
If you watch the video it's clear what happened. Guy running with a camera slowed him down and wasn't running straight, he tripped after running into him. Fell etc. etc.

Pretty ignorant post, I fell and suffered a double compound radial-ulna fracture to my right arm (clean snap through both bones) and it was my first break. . . .the fall was nothing special, in most cases I should of stood up and walked away injury free...
What are they doing running at night anyway? Cringed a bit each time someone ran in for the tag, was expecting two people to headbutt each other or something....

You're an idiot. My fall was much less severe and I had much less momentum thus making me fall with less force - you have to take into consideration angles/pressure points etc. Something you clearly aren't capable of realizing because you're obviously still on the wrong side of high school.

Seriously scraping your arm in a footrace is not nearly as big of a deal here in the US in comparison to the UK i guess.

Haha, you do realize that your way of mocking the UK makes you look like a very stereotypical American? ^^
All the people who consider tripping and scraping their arm a serious injury, are incredibly ignorant my friend.
Seriously tripping/falling/getting scraped isn't fun, but not exactly this amazing story about how he walked away from some horrific accident.
I don't understand all of the ignorance in this thread.

Nono, generalizing the entirety of the UK from one guy is stereotypical, calling you out on it isn't ^_^
you're right. The generic "you are so american." response isnt a HUGE cliche at all. Anyways guess i need to crash so i can get up early and get to MLG. Super pumped to see Demuslim play through the serious nearly tournament-ending injury.

I didn't say you were ignorant for saying scraping an arm isn't a big deal, I called you ignorant for saying ridiculous things like:
"but seriously idk how you can trip in a relay race and break your arm"
"Demuslim is pretty much lucky to be alive at this point"
why are nerds running before a tournament? i mean, jogging sure to keep in shape or w/e, but having a probably somewhat competitive race a day or two before a tourny seems kinda senseless. Yes accidents happen, but cmon your a pro gamer, take care of your hands man. Regardless, get better and be more careful!

You DO realize the whole point of this thread is mostly because there's MLG this weekend and this will affect his condition or are you so blinded by your lame "tough guy" act? (just so you know, i'm a soldier, so i know about injuries thank you) We care ofc for his health, but the point is he had to stop playing for months, and is again injured right before his first big come-back event. Nevermind the pain, the point is the shape and precision of his arm, which of course will affect (or not depending on the injury) his performance and career.
Thanks for being dumb and stereotypical. You're not making a favor to your fellow countrymen here.
Because saying "I dont know how you can trip in a relay race and break your arm." (I said I DONT KNOW HOW not "it's impossible") and than making a sarcastic remark about your overwhelming dramatics, makes me a child.
I can see your reasoning there.
PS I still dont understand how anyone can break their arm in a relay race. It would take some seriously bizarre/unusual circumstances and some sort of complete stupidity to break your arm in a foot race.
But you giving some story about how you broke your arm after "a normal fall that you should have walked away from" obviously is the same exact thing as scraping your arm, when you trip while running. Good explination.
I broke my arm once, from a simple fall. Demuslim had a simple fall, therefore his arm should be broken. It isn't? MIRACLE!
I now understand this thread and its drama more.
Goodnight. =)
And to the French soldier, I know, I am tough! I dont even cry when i scrape my arm! /flex. Glad you caught that I was obviously putting on a tough guy act. Everyone knows only tough guys can scrape their arm and not have people make a drama thread about it!

Are you being serious? Read the thread, and try to keep up with the conversation before you interpret that I said he broke his arm in the footrace lol.
Thanks for making me feel 100% completely assured that you are absolutely not worth trying to communicate with, when you cant handle a conversation that is broken into small chunks and frozen in time for you to read as many times/as thoroughly as possible.
I said he scraped his arm and making this huge deal about it is insane. Then some guy from somewhere in the UK said "You dont understand he could have broken his arm in this simple fall" to which i said "thats ridiculous to assume he would have broken his arm, all he did was get a scrape" and now you are telling me I cant read english, for not saying that he broke his arm?
Can you read AND comprehend english? The evidence is clearly in support of the contrary.
We ARE making a huge deal when a cyclist injures his leg, cause it will affect his performance. We are making a deal over this cause it will also affect his performance as a gamer, and maybe have complications since he already broke that same arm a while ago. Stop arguing over anything *else* and calling us sissies "ouhouh it's not a big deal i already broke my arm i could still walk we are tough where i live" cause that's what it looks like to several people. Sorry if i misinterpreted one of your posts, i'm at work and browsing on a mobile device isn't the best to fully grasp *everything* (most of it, though)(and don't tell me "then, don't post", thank you.)

Edit: I almost forgot. It seemed like QXC ran twice according to the guy filming? Did all the teams get to use someone twice? I might just be confused.

Judging from the video though, it seems that Raelcun got to DeMuslim first. Raelcun was apparently running for fxo though I don't see why apart from the obvious opportunity to "fall". He even carried a camera that might have accidentally been used to injure DeMuslim further.
I think Demuslim is lucky to be alive.
Anyway I hope it wasn't anything serious, Demuslim is definitely my favorite Terran to root for. The fall didn't look that bad in the video, but if he fell on a fairly recent break it could potentially affect his ability to perform optimally. Luckily it sounds like he will be good to go.
This is hilarious for all sorts of reasons. Most of them having been pointed out in the thread already, so I'll just laugh

Sorry for the fall but after reading hes ok I couldn't help but to giggle a bit, every time some SC2 foreigner gets into a arm related incident its always Demuslim, he really should get a nickname the bubble boy or something along those lines lol.

I was just like that in 8th grade. Injured my knee in a football match, had to go with crutches for some weeks because I couldn't put any weight on it at all, and after the crutches I had to go around with a limp for a while. And a couple of months later my hand was caught in a door and I broke some fingers. And when my fingers finally had healed I wanted to play basketball with my friends in school and when I was gonna run by a guy with the ball I slipped and landed on my elbow right in the asphalt and broke my elbow. Couldn't move my arm on a whole month. Shit happens ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Glad Demuslim is okay tho, would suck so much to get injured one day before gameday like this lol.
While DeMuslim getting injured and unable to play would be a great injustice that he certainly does not deserve I have to admit; this is kind of funny! Sorry but it is!
whats the bet that this will be apart of his excuse when he loses? They should keep him in a box filled with air holes and water... on second thought he probs drown lol

Professional players of any sport have things they can do and things they cannot do, things they can eat, and things they cannot eat. If esports really want to be like sports, I think this is the first step to make, especially since hands are the most important tool for a progamer.

I agree. It baffles me how teams do not recognize that running usually results in serious injuries to hands. They really should add a clause to their contract against any sudden or quick movement not related to sc2 gaming. On a similar note cooking should be absolutely prohibited by progamers. Imagine what would happen if DeMuslim were to cut vegetables, or handle hot pans.
To all the people saying he should take care of his hands please consider that running usually don't result in injuries to your hands. Looking back and knowing that he fell, he should have obviously not done it, but really many day-to-day activities carry just as high a risk of injuring your hands as running.

This is like telling Troy Aikman not to play golf because if he hits his ball into a tree and it ricochets into his head, he could get another concussion.

He'd probably open the bubble one day for cleaning and catch something due to his weakened immune system.
I'm glad to hear he's ok, the UK has looked even worse at ESports than we actually are since his injury, if we claim Tandongho as a Brit and Demuslim gets back to form we can start to look less pathetic.

No, this would be like Troy Aikman going out the Friday before a football game and risking injury over a round of golf. It would be stupid.

If you think running is dangerous enough to warrant telling players not to do it, then what the fuck isn't dangerous? Do you have to pad their rooms, remove any sharp objects, and only eat things in liquid form to prevent possible choking problems?

When your profession involves using your hands and head at an exceptionally high level, I would recommend you know, that you're not out running races in the dead of night the day before you're expected to perform at a very high level. That's not "I'm being a safety whore." That's called "use the fucking brain that people pay to watch you use and show some common sense". I already went on for twenty pages the last time an incident like this happened and I'm not doing it again. You guys can continue to make analogies and comparisons for sports and training regimens that you have little to no understanding of. Enjoy!

Of course, or at least the bloody and gruesome bits

QFT In highschool i played tennis and my friend and i were both trying out for varsity as the summer before we met with the coach and he essentially said one of us would make it and one wouldnt. Week before tryouts my friend said he wasnt practicing for fear of injury and my response was WTF. If you are afraid to play tennis for fear of injury preventing you from playing tennis...whats stopping you from showing up day 1 of tryouts and getting hurt. There is obviously some point where an activity IS stupid for an athlete to do before an event...but if you think RUNNING is one of them...then i dont really know what to say
What a moron.. this running shit is ridiculous. You're a professional, your sponsors pay for you to be there and you risk it by doing some gay relay race? ...

Its one of those things, could of happened to anyone. and from your mind that makes all of Liquid, EG, and the other teams morons too.

Yea, I think EG should have added a condition to his contract that he has to live in a nuclear shelter...
With all due respect, this doesn't look nearly as awful as some people made it sound. This looks pretty normal. Too bad he got hurt, but I don't think it was as dangerous as people make it out to be, even with the past trauma to this very arm. All's good now, that's what is important. It must have been un unnerving experience, given the circumstances.

It's just a flesh wound.
I love how Demuslim is putting on a brave face and all the other guys are going on about how bad it looks. Its good to have such reassuring friends.
He needs to stay in doors and play only over the interwebz apperantly still hoping to see him perform well this event though The relay races are amazing fun to watch though for some reason and they should defenitely keep doing them. Team and spirit building, fun and relaxed stuff.
That blood is really thick. There is a reason why track fields exist to prevent these from occuring because of the material that is used on the ground so the chances of getting a cut this big is so much more smaller.
