Tried searching for this in TL but can't seem to find any thread. Source of the news here.
Summary + Show Spoiler + Mineski would like to announce to the public, to the Philippine StarCraft community and fans of Enderr that the visa applications of World Cyber Games (WCG) SC2 Philippine representative, Caviar Napoleon "Enderr" Acampado, and team leader, Marlon Marcelo, were denied by the Korean embassy.
FYI: We did apply with complete requirements weeks before the event. We even have a letter from WCG and from the city of Busan to help us in the process. We even have our flight details booked already. When we learned of the non-issuance of our visa we tried for an appeal, even WCG called the embassy but it was in vain.
This is sad since I wanted to watch games from ender against other foreigners

EnDerr is in red hot form right now, this totally sucks he was supposed to play a showmatch against ToD as well I believe, real bummer he couldn't make it, total gosu

Actually, not that cool. It's always sad when people get denied participation in these tournaments

Kinda weird how he got denied that visa. I had a pretty easy time getting one and I was just going to Korea for vacation (and to watch Boxer omg)
Too bad, especially since he has such a starpower name :D
The real problem in WCG players getting denied is that countries don't recognize esports players as actual athletes and therefore don't let them be exempted from visas. I think there was a time when F91 couldn't participate in a WCG cuz it was held in the US. Even in a country where esports is so mainstream as South Korea this type of stuff happens.
did they give a reason as to WHY the visas got denied?

S.Korea knows better than any other country in the world how legit progamers are.

That sucks, sorry for him and his fans
Oh man, that is really sad, I was really looking forward to seeing him play too :-/
Bytw, what was the reason for rejection of your visa?
sad
I was looking forward for his showmatch and performance. oh well...
actually what bugs me is that there were no reasons provided why the visa was denied

well thats still just a guess, i'd like to know what the actual reason was

All we got was a paper with a big "DENIED" text printed on it then some vague guidelines on how to apply next time.
It also states on the paper that reasons of denial are not to be disclosed by the embassy.
scumbags imo -_-
Does the guy have a criminal record? :o
Really sad about this because I was extremely exited for his performance in WCG, depsite with MorroW and HuK being in his group, I really wanted him to show his mettle. Good luck to him for next time and hope to see more of the SEA scene both play and suceed as shown by mOOnGLaDe in this tourney.
sad to see these things happen
Poor guy. Tough luck, man... keep your head up and all that jazz.

I used to work at visa section for UK Embassy in Bangkok, Visa clearance Officer (in case of Bangkok, they are all British) sometime reject visa to a person they don't fully have confidence of. Including person who don't have respectable job or people which financial credit is not enough. so yeah, they make strange decision all the time.
what?!?! As a SC2 fan and, more importantly, a filipino, I am quite disappointed that my country wasn't represented in WCG because of this issue. Really sucks!
Such a shame, EnDerr would have done some serious damage at WCG.
Would have liked to see his play, I hear he is a great player, but I've never seen his play personally.
Sucks for him, but I'm fine with not having mid-Masters players at international events.
Has this happened to a player before? There were a lot of WCGs in Korea in the past and I never heard of a similar incident. (aside from Smuft, but that was about drugs)
:[. I was planning on cheering for him too, especially considering his group of Huk, Morrow, Snute, breek, Ptak, and Gorky would have been a much closer race with him there.
Currently 73rd in US GM: http://www.sc2ranks.com/us/2150485/MskiEnDerr

wow that must have been a shitty day
Sorry to hear this! It would have been great to see EnDerr play and represent the Philippines.
Hmmm Ender shouldn't give up hope! Hopefully he can try to get to Korea again soon. Maybe attempt to qualify for GSL?
Wow... didn't expect a lot of TL.net supporters for Enderr.
Anyway, Mineski team will be going for a break for the Christmas season. Gonna go back into playing games on January. If the players' performance seem to be up to par with the NA/EU top players, we'll try to do our best to send players to MLG's and/or Dreamhacks.
GG's to everyone, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Is the guy really named Caviar Napoleon ? That's funny ^^ Well, I don't know him (I think) so I guess I don't know what I'm losing to not see him play.
