Coach Lee of Team SCV Life has announced that he has signed Protoss player Cyrano
Most notably competing in the Sony Ericsson GSL Open Season 3 falling 2-0 to Liquid`Ret, Coach Lee believes Cyrano fits the demographic of the team well and has huge potential.
Cyrano will also be competing for TSL in the upcoming ESV Korean Weekly!
Interesting signing, pretty sure I've seen him run into a number of other pros on ladder (if he ladders as Cyrano that is) but I don't recall being particularly impressed. Fingers crossed the TSL house does him wonders and he can be the Protoss backbone they need :O
I've seen Cyrano play a few times vs some korean streamers. Pretty good. I'm glad some new comers are getting some great opportunities to improve/showcase their skills =]
hahaha, what an anticlimatic annoucement after all those hype from your thread, i thought it's going to be something BIG. No offence to the player though cause i haven't seen him played yet.
iirc cyrano started off relying on his school for help I recall he put a pretty good fight against ret not bad for someone just using school mates it'll be nice to see how he does with a pro team.
TSL is such an underrated team. They weren't falling apart, just reforming. Coach lee also makes really amazing choices, so I have no doubt Cyrano will perform extremely well.

Yeah, me neither. I was thinking it was either an ex-BW pro or even a foreigner.

yep kinda silly, even EG wouldn't have announced the announcement of such a player.

I didn't even really hype up the player all that much. What happened was I did my write-up for that thread, sent it to Coach Lee (I already knew about Cyrano at this point) and he asked me to keep it under wraps a little bit longer. So, instead of just removing the section, I just edited out the photo and the name.
Cool. Don't remember him from the GSL, but if TSL picked him up as their first protoss on the new roster, there's got to be something special there. Looking forward to seeing him play in the ESV tournament!

Well, fair enough, but he's still part of your hype thread as if he's gonna win some games, which is doubtful. (no offence)

Judging from what I've seen of him recently, and knowing how good Coach Lee is at developing players, I wouldn't count him out quite yet. TSL has quite the impressive new roster with RagnaroK moving into the team house for GSTL and Ultimate also a possibility.
Wow, from the comments here it seems like people took the TSL hype thread a bit too seriously. I'm just happy to see TSL getting a protoss player. I hope TSLCyrano starts streaming like the other TSL players. iirc his first game vs Ret was pretty fun to watch, but that was a whule ago so I'm excited to see how he has improved
Good news, TSL needs more protoss. But what do they mean by signd? Is he under contract with TSL? As I understand most Koreans doesn't have contracts with Korean teams.

Cool to see new players entering the structure of team houses. Congrats TSL and Cyrano.
TBH, posting to bring attention to the ESV's jaw-dropping amount of talent in the tournament. International Tournament Champions to Code S Finalists/Champions to up&comers in the scene like ForGG and CreatorPrime and and foreigners all over the place (Morrow, Huk, Jinro). Need to start watching more of this.
I don't get it, teams like EG get flamed massively for being the 'Yankees of SC2' by acquiring players that other teams helped to bring through. When teams like TSL try to develop a roster and really improve a player it's 'a disappointing' announcement.
To me this is really interesting, a player of relatively unknown level but who obviously has something about him otherwise Coach Lee wouldn't be acquiring him. Look forward to seeing how this goes

Once again it was the community that supplied the hype.

But didn't coach Lee himself say, that they will get more bw-pros? I think that's why some are a little dissapointed
Cyrano de Bergerac- the lover of women. i like the name - hope he is good enough to live up to the name of a TSL protoss. (JYP and Killer set the bar high!)

No he never did. He only said they were introducing new players when killer, jyp, and clide left. At the same time they announced Hyun joining. It's just a stupid mixup the community has been doing, coach lee never claimed such a thing.
I'm actually confused on how this guy got into TSL, not even kidding.
EDIT - Not to mention his ladder score is 50% winrate as Protoss... at only 750points.. with 0 bonus pool???????? Usually ladder doesn't mean much, but when you have so many stacked up games it generally can on Korea, because his MMR isn't GM.

Maybe he does well in custom game practice? Have you played him before? If so I'd like to hear your opinion on his play.
with Virgil's thread on why TSL would win the GSTL, I was quite hyped to discover this new Protoss. He is surely better than he used to be when Ret stomped him, but I'd be surprised if he's GSTL sniping material, even if I don't want to judge by the ladder winrate... TSL gonna get kill by IM
he was quite poor IIRC. I watched him get ripped by ret before ret got smashed by thebest. Watched him play a few games from other people's stream and was not impressed. Hopefully TSL can bring this guy up and do well but i am not sure about this one. TSL has brought up many unknowns and Coach Lee has done well to create many strong players like JYP, Puma, alive and they have many protosses talents they nurtured like JYP and killer so maybe he has some hope but i am not positive.

Good luck Cyrano, see you in GSTL
How would you rate him out of 10?
How the hell can you rate a player out of 10? that's the worst idea I've ever heard lol
I think anyone can at least rate a player from their impression, not like it says much but since we know nothing about Cynaro it's the only way for us to know how good he is.

Any info on Dream? He seems to have also slipped into the TSL protoss roster.
I actually have very limited information on Dream. Everything I know leads to him being in the same boat as RagnaroK and Ultimate, being too young to live in the team house fulltime. He has been on the roster for a few months now, but inactive because of school.

So that leaves about 6 players? that's not even enough for GSTL

I've been told that at least RagnaroK will be staying at the team house for the GSTL.
