Immortal range. Upgrades costs. None of those are massive alone, the really P favoured maps are already gone. CBTS is gone, most maps are considered either Zerg favoured or balanced. No, it's more like the cumulative effects of several Protoss buffs over several patches finally reaching a tipping point along with metagame changes. If they buff even further, I can't even imagine how it will be...

Wait, what? So winrates were >70% for Zerg, then suddenly when Protoss got this straw that broke the camel's back, the winrate suddenly switched to being P-favoured?
How does that make sense to you?
The change in winrate came from the players and the way of playing, not from any patches.
Although I do think maps had a bit of an impact.

The sad thing about it all is that blizzard had to instigate those changes to change the meta. I agree none of the changes were that major yet protosses still went with it and it had a deep impact.

Even the non-SlayerS want a piece of MMA..... What is going on?

wow the 2nd placed finisher sure practiced with plenty of people! I like that gogo XXXXX!

Could PartinG be about to walk the Royal Road? I remember GSL November when nobody knew who he was. He has come a long way.

so true parting, better be disliked then overlooked!

With MVP in Code A, MMA is now arguably the hottest player in the world right now, and with his relatively weak TvP, MC and PartinG see an opportunity to win big.

Just because MC's two and three base timings crush zergs doesnt mean other aspects of the game are imba the other way. Perhaps blizz doesnt like seeing mass muta or BL infestor work protoss so much? There gonna have to do someting once MS is gone.

I guess protoss is never supposed to win in your eyes and if they do start approaching even 50% for even a month the whining begins with zergs.

I think the patch came at a time where the Protoss players were actually just learning to play better and safer (see: more than 1 observer). So I think both of those things collided and caused this, and even so, I don't think Protoss are in any way OP. They just learned how to play, now the Terran's and Zerg's need to follow suit.
I'm just happy for the success for Protoss, as they've not been in a GSL final since InCa's failure against NesTea in the early summer.

Actually in Korea it's currently ~55% for Protoss.

Of course, internationally PvZ is horrific, but that's not the highest level of play. Once mass Muta into BL/Infestor starts getting figured out, international PvZ should get much better.

MC is such a beast! I really like his honest opinions in the interview. I'm looking forward to his 3rd GSL win!
|
looking forward to the r8 actions. maybe its time for mc's 3rd trophy. but id rather mma win though!

Wish I could get my girlfriend a gsl championship lol, he is such a boss

Thanks so much for this!! Great addition to the PartinG fanclub!

That things can flip around that much with no big patches going on just shows that it's a very small sample size and that both sides can win the matchup fine. MC has always been super confident against Zerg, it doesn't have much to do with the current state of PvZ.

To be honest, I feel that as long as I can make it past the round of 8, there are no other competitors that can defeat me. If I make it past the round of 8, I can already look forward to winning the championship After losing 0-2 to MC lol.

Infestor change, Warp prism buff, cheaper upgrades are all pretty major changes helping out PvZ :>

I don't think they care about some silly ladder ratings. The only thing they care about is the GSL (code A and S) and let's be honest, zergs are getting slaughtered this season.
