Clarity Gaming Welcomes Mkengyn and MotoK

Ribbon: Welcome to Clarity Gaming! Why don't you introduce yourself to some of the fans out there who might not be familiar with you

cMkengyn: Hi, my name is Brian, known as Mkengyn. Some of you may know me from my former team, CheckSix. I started playing Broodwar when I was about 10 years old then went into Warcraft 3 and now Starcraft 2. I am a Zerg player that has made it into top GM almost every season.

Ribbon: We're glad to have you here at Clarity Gaming. What made you decide to join with us?

cMkengyn: After the disbandment of CheckSix, I've been unmotivated to play StarCraft. With a new team I can finally start practicing again. I know most of the members very well as most of them are people I have met in local LANs.

Ribbon: So, it was the people in Clarity that made the team appeal to you? Have you already made any friends here?

cMkengyn: Yes, being in a friendly environment is much easier for me than being with people who I don't know. Other than the people I've met at LANs, I don't know much about any other players yet.

Ribbon: As a player, what are your goals for the next few months?

cMkengyn: Currently I'm in university, so it's a bit hard to have a full practice schedule. But I will try to play in as many online tournaments as I can, as well as team leagues. I'm going to be at the next MLG, so hopefully I will have good results there.

Ribbon: Besides the time constraints imposed by university, what is your biggest challenge that you hope to overcome?

cMkengyn: My biggest problem was my practicing, I would become very distracted after every game. Like browsing Team Liquid, or playing other games other than StarCraft. I hope to have a better practice regimen and schedule to get better.

Ribbon: What other games do you play?

cMkengyn: League of Legends, Diablo 3, and many console or handheld games.

Ribbon: How are you finding the match-ups right now? Are there any races you're having trouble with?

cMkengyn: I don't have much of a problem with how the current metagame is, although protoss may be a bit OP (laughter). ZvP is probably my worst matchup while ZvT is my best.

Ribbon: Are there any players that you're hoping to encounter at MLG?

cMkengyn: I would like to play any of the top Koreans or KeSPA pros. But in reality, I wouldn't want to encounter anyone, I would like to have the easiest bracket possible.

Ribbon: Who do you study, if anyone?

cMkengyn: At the moment, no one. I will be willing to do so in the future if needed.

Ribbon: You mentioned time constraints caused by university. What does your typical day look like?

cMkengyn: Every day, I leave home at 9 am and come back by 5 pm. Then, a couple of hours will go to studying or homework and the rest of the time will be SC2.

Ribbon: What do you study?

cMkengyn: I am majoring in chemical engineering at University of Calgary.

Ribbon: Outside of Starcraft, what are your interests?

cMkengyn: Badminton, anime and manga, music, and anything that doesn't take much work, because I'm lazy.

Ribbon: If you were to win MLG, or a similar major tournament, what would you do with the prize money?

cMkengyn: The first thing I would do is pay off my whole school tuition.

Ribbon: And the second?

cMkengyn: Probably a car and a new computer.

Ribbon: Thank you for taking the time to speak with us. Is there anything you'd like to say to your fans?

cMkengyn: Thanks to my friends and fans for supporting me and I hope to put out great results in the future. And thanks to Clarity Gaming, for supporting me.

Ribbon: There are a lot of Starcraft fans out there who aren't yet familiar with you. How would you introduce yourself to them?

cMotoK: Hello, I used to play for FPS and am trying out for a new way. My name is Cheon Hee Soo. Im 23yrs old, started RTS games about an year ago. Im in grand masters league in NA and High masters in KR. I focus on my micro as Terran player.

Ribbon:What made you decide to play for Clarity Gaming, a brand new team?

cMotoK: So I used to be on a clan called ‘NOS’ to be a progamer. Through my personal connection, I was able to participate in team tryout on suggestion.

Ribbon: How are you getting along with your new teammates?

cMotoK: I’m trying hard to talk with my teammates with the skype to be more involved with the team. We talk on daily basis including silly jokes, so it feels like I’m learning a lot of English.

Ribbon: As a player, what are your goals for the next few months?

cMotoK: I want to make good results throughout the foreign tournament, so at least people know my name and ID. I’d like to win a first place regardless of how big the tournament is, and the second I’d like to gain some popularity!

Ribbon: I know you recently participated in the Korean e-Sports Games amateur tournament, finishing in the RO16! Congratulations, can you tell us about your experience?

cMotoK: So I haven’t played starcraft for a long term, and it was really nervous since a lot of strong foreign players participated in this tournament. I was worried after looking at the brackets but at the same time I gained strong desire to win. After this passionate event, I wanted to be in the center of growing esports.

Ribbon: As a Terran, how are you finding the match-ups right now? Are there any races you're having trouble with?

cMotoK: Terran does not have many units we can use on late game. My weakest matchup right now is against zerg.

Ribbon: Are there any particular players you look forward to encountering in tournaments? Any rivals?

cMotoK: I don’t have a rival as of yet, but I look forward to meet FXOAcou who recently got into his team. He’s one of my best friends so I wish to play him in the big tournament future.

Ribbon: How about idols? What players do you look up to, either as a person, or as a fellow competitor to follow and learn from?

cMotoK: I respect Taeja very much. He sometimes gives me good advice.

Ribbon: What is a typical day in the life of cMotoK?

cMotoK: I had a lot of leisure time before but after I got into the team, I got a ton of drive. Just eat, sleep and game most of the day.
