As per GoOdy's Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/GoOdySC2)
Sascha 'GoOdy' Lupp 2 minutes ago After some long talks with ESC i decided to rejoin them!
That's pretty interesting, don't think I've ever heard of a player rejoining a team so shortly after having departed it. Weren't there some rumours that GoOdy had retired? I wonder what prompted this entire series of events..
Maybe they realized just how foolish it'd be the lose the greatest Terran in the history of this game, or perhaps GoOdy remembered that ESC's bear logo is way too cool to leave behind.
Wait, no undisclosed sensitive information why Goody left the Team and then rejoined them including a lost twin and a brainwashed best friend? how boring.
Well thats what happens when you think you deserve better and then can't find a team that offers what you want.
Still better than seeing him retire I guess, though I highly doubt that he'll be able to achieve much, people are just too good at rts at this point for someone with his mechanics to be able to do much on a high level. If he actually stops being supply blocked, queuing up like crazy and gets his APM above 100 he may be able to reach his old level of success again.

He was set to join German Powerhouse (+1 italian guy) aTn, but I guess ESC gave him a better offer as they realised they need him :|

Or its just the other way around But better hate vs players than vs teams, right?
I don't think GoOdy would have serious problems to find another team which takes him. Still one of the best german terran (with Krass), top tier decision making and supreme tactics.
ToD also did that with Millenium, joined, then leaves 3-4 months after then rejoined then left again, joined Fnatic 3-4 months after, then left Fnatic, then joined Root Gaming not so long ago.

Do you have sources about that, or just ramdom ramble?

It has happened with several players. A lot of players just want to see what offers are out there and really aren't unhappy with their team. In any case; Balance has been restored, GoOdy is back where he belongs.
ESC thought GoOdy does not well so they "fired" him but after the win against Lucifron they saw that GoOdy is still GoOdy so they made a new offer (pure speculation ^^)
Well with HoTS mech might just be viable again, why would they not begg for the king of Mech in europe to return to his rightfull place amongst the elite !
Serieusly though, glad to see you did not retire yet !

Take was in contact with him, but GoOdy didn't know if he should stop SC2 till HotS.
Maybe GoOdy should follow Morrow's example and commit to HOTS. Many tournament organisers (well, Take) may want to host a HOTS tournament in that event!
I am a big GoOdy fan, but I have no wonder about this. GoOdy is pretty bad last half of a year so I think it was too naive to wait offers from other teams besides ESC.

well, going 2:3 against lucifron, probably the best terran in EU atm, in the RO16 of the "stim to the win" tournament and only losing the last map because he forgot siege mode (yeah, the irony^^) certainly is not "pretty bad". do your homework, if you consider yourself a big goody fan:-)
who said that he was waiting for offers from (an)other team(s)? i think that his contract with esc just expired and as take stated on his stream, GoOdy took some time to think about his future in sc2 or esports in general. there is nothing wrong with that, or is there? nonetheless i´m glad that he will stick to the sc2-scene although i would have loved to see him with alternate gl & hf in the future mein Panzergeneral!

jaeh sure he could joine aTn but as it seems, ESC has some money in their buckets left ^^
I would like to believe that goody lost heart after he stopped playing mech v protoss, and that one day he will go back to it, even if irrationally, and end up dominating europe.
It would be very interested if the details of all these ''contracts'' were released to the public. I want to see how much money we are talking about...

I'm 99% sure that either he had no other offers or that the offer from aTn was lower. Not sure which one is more likely.

Sure forgetting some people. But I guess max 5 out of those have the potential to ever get on a "korean Terran" Level.

You forgot:
Fuzer cArn SarenS Happy Beastyqt merz Lau (Excellent UK player) Strelok, Drewbie dde MajOr binski Flo Illusion KawaiiRice LastShadow Pokebunny Pyre theognis
and TriMaster.
That said, Korean terran players outnumber those on a pro level by about a bazillion to one.
I have no idea who Fuzer, Lau or Pyre is so I'll keep them out of the list.

2 out of this list you said have a chance against Koreans. Major, and a korean himself, Illusion. The rest of your list is just people who have had decent past results or just terrible master-level players. I don't think you can really count half of this list to the Korean Terran list.

I was adding to a list from the first post. Since you replied, I'll assume you can read the first sentence, which stipulates the category into which those on the list must fall - Non-Korean Terran. The stipulation was never "Non Korean Terran that can beat korean terrans consistently".
Please explain to me why you're now bitching that I just went through Liquipedia and just listed every notable non-korean Terran.
I'll wait.
Also, Lau is one of the UK's top players, usually does very well at iSeries events. Pyre is on Infinity Seven with Axslav, and Fuzer was the guy who was at the center of that recent shitstorm about Ministry of Win kicking him out and not paying him back the money he'd paid to them for the rest of the month.

I wonder if he got rejected from a team he was trying to get on and then decided he would just use the fact that he's probably the best ESC player as leverage to get a better deal.

putting Beasty and Happy in the same category as cArn, KawaiiRice and Pokebunny shows how much you actually know
congratulations to GoOdy and gl to him and ESC. GoOdy also isn't half as bad as people think rightnow. his shape is nowhere near his level of around mid 2011 when he farmed all the online cups but he is still a very good player.

DDE plays Dota 2 now.
i recently played zotac monthly. and ya i love playing dota2 ~~~
GoOdy is my favorite player, glad to see that he is staying in the game and staying with ESC. It'd be cool if he joined a better team, but ESC has awesome uniforms

LOL. One mirror(!) match is an indication to you? This is a joke man, check out his results for last half of a year, especially TvP's, you can check TvZ's against strong opponents too.
p.s. No one cares about online tournaments when they talk about real good contracts.

Not sure, but dont see any terran outside korea has dramatically better results recently. Goody is still one of the best terrans in eu. Its a wonder that he is still that good since the patches has killed his playstyle patch by patch.

Goody's TvP with bio is actually really good, can you stop throwing around false information please? I've played him myself aswell quite a few times and his bio doesn't feel different than bio of any other good Terran except maybe that he drops less, but he makes up for that with better decision making.
Sjow did the same thing to Dignitas an it's happened a few other times as well, though greatest Terran in the history of the game? That sir is a seriously bad attempt at a joke :O

Methinks you just don't have a sense of why people might appreciate a player beyond sheer results/skill. GoOdy makes the absolute most of a limited mechanical skillset. If players with MKP's mechanics had GoOdy's decision making then we're talking craziness, and thats what makes GoOdy so appealing as a player.

You can optimize economies and have mechanics nailed down, but at the end of the day, SC2 is a strategy game and requires more than base management ability and handspeed.
I just can't comprehend how a pro player who has been putting so many hours in to the game still has worse mechanics than people who've been playing for less than two years and have school and stuff to deal with.

That's because you're mistaking APM with mechanics. Goody's micro is flat out excellent and his macro is nowhere near as bad as people make out. He's not Kas, but his propensity to supply block is massively over stated and he rarely has a lot of cash piled up.
