I am glad that I've returned to Korea. I am happy that I can practice in my new team house and that I can stream there as well. Also, I am glad that I can participate in Proleague and GSL Code S.
You came to the studio immediately after you arrived.
I am really tired.
You get to participate in Proleague.
At first, I didn't really focus much on it since it was a new tournament to me. But now my thoughts have changed since reading overseas community sites and reading comments from my fans telling me that they want me to do well in Proleague. I want to help my team win the championship.
How did you feel about today's match that you saw?
I was disappointed that fellow teammate ThorZaIN lost his game. But I was very moved by Revival's victory against Rain.
How much time do you need before you're ready to get sent out?
I'm going to need about three to four games for each of the new maps so I can get a grasp of them. In just five days, I think I'll have adapted 100%.
Any goals for Proleague?
I want to try to grab an all kill for round two. And for round three, I would like to try out the ace role. The big goal is for the team to win the championship. We didn't really have a lot of circumstances that brought the EG players together but I think Proleague is finally going to bring us all together so I am glad about that.
Anyone you would like to face in Proleague?
I want to take on Rain and Flash. I also am familiar with RorO since we were in the same group for WCS but I don't really know much about any other player right now.
Anything to say to your fans?
I am glad that I have a fan base in Asia as well. I am deeply grateful for all the love and support they have given me.
Just 3 to 4 games for each map? I guess... I'm sure they'll have them practicing a lot anyways because I believe EG posted that they are required to practice at least 8 hours a day. Good luck to Stephano in proleague and Code S. I hope to see him sent out soon to see how he does.

I don't like the no practice attitude he has. But he definitely can back it up most of the time, and hes a funny guy overall, so I hope to see him do well.
As one of the writers put it in a GSL S4 preview article I read(I can't remember the name of the writer) Stephano possesses a unique super-confidence that only one other pro, a GSL champion by the name of ST_Life is capable of holding with him. So confident!

Lol, he's so full of shit.
That remains to be seen
You're overly optimistic.
He's not a super hero lol, that's not enough games for any pro to become proficient at a map.
Stephano is no magic exception.
That being said, he's a confident dude, so of course he will say that.

Stephano has a really nasty habit of winning when every single possible factor is completely against him.

He never said he'd be "proficient" in 3-4 games, he said he'd have a grasp of them in that time. He claims 5 days to adapt 100%. Which is reasonable if you figure 30+ games a day. So the poster above you is right in saying it remains to be seen if his claim is bullshit or not. We'll know sooner or later.

He's won games on GSL maps in tournaments without having played on them before. Its entirely possible. Not saying its gonna happen, but you just can't count Stephano out.

And you're falling for an obvious marketing trick if you think he's really only going to practice 3-4 games.... For fuck's sake people still don't understand this? Stephano persona != truth.

the answer to that question was exactly like when stephano used to say he practices two hours a day. He actually practices a lot more but that is a good answer to attract attention to yourself
I was part of the first wave that hyped Stephano up in the beginnning of his career, but PL will really be hard for him. He is very talented though and it will be interesting to see him try. I think that PL has many players that are even more talented than him - Flash for instance - and who apparently practices a hell of a lot more. He has more knowleadge of the game though at this point. I would be very surprised if he gets an all kill.
So much hate in this thread :< Stop caring so much about how much he practices, has he already not proved everyone that however much he practices, it's enough? It's like the foreign community is his mom or something.
Stephano not sounding intimidated at all! Aiming for an all-kill in his first appearance and hoping to play Flash and Rain! Haha. Nice to see such confidence. Then again, he might have been half-asleep when doing this interview!

wtf kinda answer is that lol, must be miss translation from everyone there? Ala Stephano didn't understand the question, or Daily Esports didn;'t understand the response?
Thanks mr Seeker

Incontrol said that its his defense mechanism. Its very smart because If he fails no one cares since he didnt practice that much anyway but if he wins he is a genius. Stephano is in a Korean practice house with two coaches, do people honestly think that he will be allowed to do nothing?

I think Stephano himself said that last time he was in Korea he practiced a lot more than usual also, due to there being "nothing else to do", or somesuch.
I think korean interviews are fascinating. if you'd replaced all references to stephano and foreign events, it could have been any korean person. It's just something about the language, the translate there and back has made it read very foreign
I'm expecting an MVP award for him in round 2, no matter how he does, lol. I can see him doing fairly well though, he's always been solid in teamleagues.

Anyone that reinvents the Zerg metagame three times in one year probably has some decent learning skills :p

can you list those three times?
1. 200 roach 2. early 3rd hatch zvz 3. ?
Roach/hydra in ZvT, heavy upgraded lings/infestors usage in ZvT during IPL3, 200/200 roach, dunno about the early 3rd hatch in ZvZ since I don't watch his ZvZ.

well, if it got their attention it should atleast add a little extra motivation for them...

I wouldn't read too much into that, all it really means is that Samsung feels confident enough against EGTL to send out a weaker player.
Either that, or they've lost faith in their mainstay players and are growing desperate.
I'm not. It could simply mean that things are going very badly for them, so they want to try out a new player to see if they can get things going for the team.

3. Ling Bling fast upgrades ZvT. It was earlier in the year, but it was certainly there. Notably, TLO used that style to take down MKP in IPLTAC2 if I recall. At the time, I was, --and perhaps still am-- more of a TLO fan than a Stephano fan, but I gotta respect where he learned that move.

there are no banelings. If youre talking about the style stephano played for a long time previous to that TLO vs MKP game, it was just lots of upgraded speedlings with backstabs and runbys and shit, then adding infestors and staying in the midgame for a long time, and then eventually adding broods.
Sure one could guess, but it seems like they're too lazy to use a few more words to ask properly.
That's actually a very common way to ask a question in Korean. The "tell us something about.../what are you're feelings about..." is implied. Korean grammar allows for that to make complete sense without the interviewer appearing lazy or dyslexic.

then he invented 12 min roach max zvp
then this early 3rd hatch zvz shenanigans
We will probably add in a near future his roach hydra, into hydra ultra ZvT into this list. If I'm not mistaking he hasn't lost yet with it, and has beaten MKP, MMA, Ganzi with it. Not standard metagame, but becoming usual for him.
