AlcoholicsAnonymous MMA AlcoholicsAnonymous Alicia
Source: This Is Game
You started off the season with a victory. How do you feel?
MMA: For the longest time, I was craving a victory. I was constantly spiraling downwards so the desire to win was huge. I am really hoping that I will be able to use today’s victory to get rid of my losing streak and go on a winning streak instead. Alicia: I am glad that we won a hard fought battle and I’m even more glad that MMA could be making a revival (laughs).
You had a lot of advantageous situations for game one but you still ended up losing.
Alicia: I got way too nervous. I know that the right way to play was to play solidly but I got so nervous that I wasn’t really in a place to complain about advantages and disadvantages (laughs).
Were you scheduled to be sent out beforehand?
MMA: I knew that MVP still had the final boss card remaining. (MMA is not saying that he knew that MVP was going to send out DRG. He is saying that MVP still had another player remaining even if he did take out Monster) Personally, I am confident in my TvZ but I was worried about my TvT so I asked Scarlett and Miya for some advice. They both agreed that I should be the one to go out since I had a lot of experience as a final boss card. Were you anxious about the fact that you kept going back and forth between winning and losing?
MMA: I normally don’t ever get nervous but today I was shivering so much. It was almost like my hands and feet were shaking right after I defeated Monster. You put on a near flawless performance.
I still think I’m lacking. I am working really hard so that I can return back to my old form. I always reminisce about what it was like to win a championship every night before I go to sleep. There were no Zergs from AxiomAcer today.
Alicia: It wasn’t intentional. CranK wasn’t in Korea and I was the only remaining Protoss player so Scarlett prepared strictly for ZvZs and Miya was ready to snipe TAiLS. However, things went differently than expected. A lot of people are wondering as to whether or not Scarlett will get sent out.
MMA: Scarlett is always telling us that she is ready to go at any time. I am predicting that she will be sent out against LG-IM. Scarlett stated through a private interview that her first time playing HotS was after she arrived in Korea.
MMA: She is excellent. She is especially good at just smoothly teching up to hive and forcing out long macro games. Stephano is really good at mid game but Scarlett is really good at taking things to the late game. Don’t you have difficulty preparing for GSTL match ups because of your lack of players?
MMA: We have a limited number of players so we’ve been practicing with three of Woongjin Stars’ Zerg players. I want to take this opportunity to thank them.
You will face LG-IM next. That match doesn’t seem like it will be easy for you guys.
MMA: I think it’s going to be a really difficult battle. We got humiliated during the Pre-Season so I want to make sure we use the regular season to put on a different performance. Anything else you would like to say?
Alicia: I want to grab revenge for Pre-Season no matter what against LG-IM. I want to thank our sponsors John Bain, Genna Bain, Husky, SC2links, and Planetside 2. MMA: I want to thank the Acer family back in Germany, CEO uwe, Fred Gau, and all our international/domestic fans. I am going to work really hard to make sure I can put on a great performance against LG-IM as well. Lastly, I want to thank John Bain and Genna Bain for the team house in Korea.

wow, MMA looks really pale and sickly in the photo. Used to be the polite, and a little self-effacing, but the interview seems to show that his confidence was really being tested by the long dry spell. Hope he continues to perform. One of my favorite players in 2011.

MMA please stream again more often. He has the best Terran stream out there with superior mechanic and really fast APM

Practicing with Kespa players... Higher expectations now

can't wait to see more of MMA! he's still in my eyes the most talented player I've ever seen (with a close follow-up in DRG)

MMA so cool. Looks like he's on the right track to recovery :D

Hopefully MMA can regain the glory of the SlayerS days, now that he has some stable practice partners and a good team that can support him again .
|
Nice to see MMA back on track. Will be fun to follow the teams

Thanks! Glad to see MMA doing well... he helped make some of the more entertaining series' in 2011.

MMA was able to defeat DRG this week against MVP. Hopefully he can beat Nestea and Mvp in the match against LG-IM.

I need to go back and watch the games but I'm so glad Axiom/Acer won, it's the new SlayerS of eSF for me, loads of my most loved players <3

Thanks for the interview! Glad to see MMA pushing to be back to where he used to be. I hope he continues to play like he did from this match! Also, I think it's great the team is being social with Scarlett. Can't wait to see her get sent out.

Axiom-Acer isn't a part of eSF

and SlayerS wasn't part of eSF either.
Also for anyone wondering, Axiom-Acer didn't forget to thank Planetside 2 in the sponsors, its a translation mistake. But don't worry, we still love you Seeker.

And because of that, eSF decided to slap a practice ban on them and make the Slayers players pariahs in the Korean SC2 scene.
...well, that went dark fast

I think he shouldn't stream until becomes one of the best Terrans again. If he streams now, it's only going to be detrimental to his growth.

practicing with stars players eh? No wonder they won, they figured out the key to success =P

as soon as trades are open MMA is getting the hell off my anti list, I regreted putting him there at first but i thought he'd lose to DRG somehow. hope to see him back to his son of boxer status soon
|
I wonder if practicing with Woongjin players has anything to do with the ex-SlayerS coach Ryu Won being on Woongjin now. Either way, both parties benefit tremendously from this.

Talking about son of boxer, i cant wait to see fantasy to shine in HOTS, another genius terran player who is a monster in multi tasking.
now the last thing i want to see is nerfing on terrans. A little more buff on zerg and the game will be fine.

I was about to do an Alcoholics Anonymous joke, but the OP already beat me to it.
