TLPro posted today announcing Snute will be traveling to Korea to stay in the EG-TL house and potentially compete in Proleague. Snute spent a month in Korea last year and was able to make it to the grandmaster league while there, playing in PC bangs.
His statement from the announcement:
Hey all! I'm going to Korea to practice in the EG-TL house! Many probably saw this coming because of me playing in WCS NA, but here goes! ^_^
I enjoyed my stay in the MoW-house last summer and the team-house environment was great for my practice. I've wanted to get back to such an environment for a while and the EG-TL house is the best!
The EU solo model is okay too—I've won a good deal of tournaments and money the past months and could have stayed in Europe, playing WCS EU and other tournaments. However, I haven't been happy with my lack of consistency and slow improvement rate the past few months. That's why I know it's the perfect time for me personally to go to Korea and practice there. It was great to be there last year and I'm sure it will be good for me now.
Unlike last year where I traveled from PC bang to PC bang, I'm going to stay in the EG-TL house, training under Head Coach Park and learning from the amazing players that are there. I'll do everything I can to make the most out of it and contribute where possible. I know I've been quite shaky the last few months (Katowice, Cebit, Dreamhack) and I can't promise better results right away but I will give it my all and it doesn't hurt to have more foreigners trying! And again, I just want to give another thanks to those who've been supporting me through the hard times!
My primary focus will be fighting for my team in Acer TeamStory Cup, Proleague and playing in WCS NA. If you want to watch my practice I'll stream on a schedule too and for everything else I'll keep you updated as usual on Facebook(link) and Twitter(link). I'm extremely grateful for this opportunity and want to give my thanks to Team Liquid/EG-TL and our sponsors: ShinyThings, Barracuda Networks, Razer and Twitch. Fighting
He recently made it out of his WCS America group by defeating Theognis and Vibe and will be playing at the live stage of their tournament next. Good to see, he's a talented player and has a lot to gain from a strict and difficult practice environment.
He's on Team Liquid, so same rules apply to him that applies to other TL players. If he gets to play in Pro League, it'll be under EG-TL, any other tourneys, like WCS, it's under the TL tag.
That said, congrats to Snute on the qualification for WCS and hope your time in Korea helps you a lot. I haven't been wtatching a lot of your games, but what I saw was very fun to watch for the most part!

its always nice to see people trying really hard. even if he wont play in proleague (at first), he is still doing his best to improve as a player and reach the top
Snute is really hard on himself and analyzes his flaws, this plus the practice environment should shape up into a top-top tier foreigner relatively quick.
Snute, please please please don't be silly enough to believe that a month in Korea is enough. Stay longer, stay as long as you can, the pay off will be worth it. You're a fucking beast as it is, a longer period of time spent practicing hardcore in Korea could well turn you into a consistent tournament winner / top 3 placer.
So I'm guessing all of EG and TL will move to NA once MLG goes more offline and Proleague ends? Assuming many of EG and TL qualify for Season 2 premiere.

What makes you think EG-TL won't participate in the next season of ProLeague or potentially GSTL?
Unless Snute beats the rest of the EG-TL players a ton in practice, Snute won't be seen in PL. EG-TL's current position is very rough, and any losses at this point would seal their fate =/. Unfortunate timing with PL and all. I do hope he improves greatly and enjoys his stay in Korea though!

no offense, but snute is definitely not the best player on TL
No offense, but Snute is probably the 3rd best player on TL at the moment.
No way. I'd probably rank him last right now tbh. Except for Sheth cause he's inactive.
Have you actually watched any HotS in the last 3 months?
Yes a lot, and it's not arguable that Hero, Taeja, TLO and Zenio are better, you could make a point for him over Ret maybe, but Ret has showmn more results haven't been as good lately as just after hots launch though.
I think the TL player ranking is hard to call at the moment, because especially the foreigners have really stepped it up in the last months. Hope to see that trend continue

Well, upon closer look I will concede TLO, but Zenio? Seriously? Come on! Not only has he played very little, most of the games he played were losses.
In the same time frame, Snute managed to win a LAN tournament in quite convincing fashion (http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/ESET_UK_Masters_2013/Season_1 ), as well as do very well in numerous online tournaments (including WCS NA).
I hope they train Snute hardcore before they let him play a proleague game. All the wins from here on out are really important if they want to make it to playoffs

snute did in last offline tournament i think 3-0 vs sting (in hots) and also raped alot other guys, he is such a strong player, not using him would not be really clever in fact he is WAY stronger then zenio !

Snute went 0-3 in second groupstage at dreamhack, while Zenio did advance from the same group and beat Snute head to head. It's close, but I think Zenio is in better shape at this moment, however training in Korea for Snute might change that.

And Snute has won or placed Top 4 in many online tournaments involving pretty much the same Europeans who were at DreamHack. See, the problem with cherry-picking is that when you only use a very specific and small sample size to prove your point, you fail to see the big picture. Yes, Snute didn't do very well at DreamHack, but he did very well at events leading up to DreamHack, and post-DreamHack he has qualified for WCS NA Ro16 with very solid play.
Like I pointed out (and you can see from the list on Aligulac), Zenio has not only played relatively few games in this time period, making him hard to predict in that sense, he has also lost most of them.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Zenio, I think the guy has a cool personality, but the fact of the matter remains that he has not had any decent results in, what, a year now? Compare this to Snute, who has been doing great since late last year, and TLO and Ret who have been on a resurgence as of late, both displaying great play... it's not even debatable really, once you look at the numbers.
I've never had much faith in Snute, though I observe his strong start and recruitment. I really hope he makes me a fan and destroys Korea with the might of a thousand Hwatcha.

now, i dunno what league you guys are in or how much understanding of the game you have.. but i dont base my claim on the perspective of statistics and results, but his skill level... i think if he would play in proleague he would be crushed every time.. no need to bash on me for saying that, i love snute, and i would love to be proven wrong.. and in fact i really hope he does practice in korea with the help of coach park, i'm sure he could go very far!

I can tell you I've watched many of his recent games and he looked quite sharp. As for getting crushed every time, I can see why you'd think that, but honestly even if you were right that doesn't make him any worse than Zenio.
For your last point, absolutely, if Snute spends at least 2-3 months in Korea practicing at the EG-TL house under Coach Park, he's going to come back and just murder everyone in Europe/NA.

snute is better than zenio, debatable between him and tlo, and I think he has done better than ret. edit; also I really think Snute can do well in korea and I hope he does! GL to him.

Would you really think Coach Park would send out Snute if he's not good enough?

Probably more to do with the timezone. WCS will be played in the mornings in Korea, and as far as I know in the EG-TL house they wake up quite early etc.
Makes sense that he'd play WCS America then - traveling between Europe and Korea really leaves no other choice. Europe to Korea and Korea to Europe are basically unplayable.
I think it'd be the coolest thing to see Snute make a splash in Proleague. I haven't seen Snute stream before, is he good about interacting with viewers and the like? I've been looking for a fun Zerg streamer to watch

That sounds like Park has carried over the old SKT mantra. Wasn't SKT ran like that for many years? I seem to remember the majority of interviews the lesser known SKT guys that got sent out always mentioned that.
I could see him used in pro league, He is very talented, and Coach Park has a way of getting the best out of players. WCS NA is gonna be scary with a Korean trained killer like snute.

To my knowledge, all KeSPA teams run like that. Probably all the eSF ones as well.

Pretty sure nearly all teams are using that system.
Snute will probably get to play because Revival, Zenio and Jaedong are the only Zergs they have. They really need another Terran as well for insurance.
With his dedication and mentality it will be really interesting to see what happens after a month or two in a team house enviroment. Only good things can come from this and I personally can't wait to see the end result.
I know I'll likely get bashed / warned / banned for this, despite it just being personal opinion, but I really don't think he's ready for that kind of competition. Never been overly impressed with him.

I know FXO has in house ranking tournaments because the results while Grubby was there were being posted. Apparently Tear/Hurricane kills it in practice.
The thing with people talking about Snute being a "weaker" player not ready for proleague is that KeSPA teams all have alot of "weak" players. Its not so much about having a superstar front line as having a deep roster that is hard to prepare for and better equipped to react to very specific opponents, maps and playstyles. I think if Coach Park had his way not only would Snute be heading to Korea but Idra, Demuslim, Thorzain, Suppy and Stephano would be parked (no pun intended) there as well.
Snute, please please please don't be silly enough to believe that a month in Korea is enough. Stay longer, stay as long as you can, the pay off will be worth it. Ya know, he has a girlfriend, too. I don't think he can bring her there.
