I'm quite sure the SC2 team is exclusively on the sound cards from creative. Don't think about it too much. + Show Spoiler +

the name rubs me the wrong way
but esports sponsorships rub me the right way

neat l33t based sponsor, congrats
|
I never heard of this company before, but grats on the sponsorship!
L33T Gank Domination series is probably the worst product name that I have ever heard. I will not be inclined to purchase these products. Sorry

those capacitors look cheap, looks like ones used by ASRock
|
Cool L33T sponsor, congratz!

ASRock of 5+ years ago might have been cheap low end stuff, but nowadays they have a full range of lower end to high end boards.
ECS have historically been a budget motherboard maker however, and it appears that they are trying to expand their presence to the higher end of the market with moves like this.

Guys, the company is ECS and they are the 3rd/4th largest motherboard makers. They just called this set of motherboard L337 gaming.

Complexity now need some kick-ass SC2 player.

ECS historically made bargain basement mobos, but they've been delving in to the performance sector recently. I know the ECS Black series have been very good, they just don't have the name recognition that Gigabyte, Asus, etc. have in the performance sector. This naming scheme, with "L337" "GANK" "AGGRO" and "KILLSTEAL", is super tryhard that it turns me off. They should have just went with ECS Platinum, or another name that invokes better quality than the word "Black".
|
Never heard about ECS before (selling products outside of NA?) but esport sponsorship is always a good thing. Gratz to both

Agreed, it's so fucking stupid. It's easy to make premium products sound nice, and it's not by naming them like that.

Congrats on the sponsorship, hope this helps compLexity to get back to their glory days!

Thanks, I was unaware.

ECS has always been bottom-of-the-barrel. The thought of them delving into the niche 'gamer' market is fucking frightening.
Just look at any of their Motherboards/Video Cards on Newegg and read the reviews. I think it'll be funny if this team BSOD's during a tournament hehe.
"Run MemTest!"
"I can't, the motherboard won't recognize the USB flash drive!"
"...and it's rebooting again."
*ECS L33T! Where life is a fucking nightmareeee!*
|
Really? Naming mobos after the most used terms on the internet? How the fuck are you supposed to google how to fix them if shit goes down? Nothing like pulling up a page of meme photos when you're trying to repair your computer.
|
Grats, although it surely is a weird company xD
|
I'm going to build a new PC this summer, and I'm going to try to support esports as much as possible by buying products from sponsors :D Perhaps a Gank motherboard?

Congrats to Complexity Gaming!

*ECS L33T! Where life is a fucking nightmareeee!* ASRock also used to be bottom of the barrel, it was Asus' budget/low end brand. Now they do low to high and everything in between, and Asus also do low end, as ASRock was spun off from Asus into it's own independent company.
While I wouldn't recommend straight off that people go and buy ECS motherboards, there's no reason that they can't manage to produce high end quality boards at some point. They still have to actually prove that they CAN produce quality boards, but there's no reason to write them off entirely, as it's been proven that companies can move upmarket.

It's just weird to see Stephano in this.

Doesn't matter either way. This crap is all mass-produced in China
