The Slovenian Zerg player Matic "Starbuck" Dejak will join the mousesports StarCraft II roster with immediate effect. Dejak, who finished 3rd in his WCS Premier League group last Friday, said he is honored by mousesports offer.
Matic "mouz Starbuck" Dejak has won several minor tournaments in the past, showcasing his good understanding of the game. He is especially known for his "special tactics", which he tends to mix into his sets, inspired by Ukrainien player White-Ra. Recently, he placed third in his 2014 WCS Season 1 Europe group, after narrowly losing to former GSL champion Mun "MMA" Seong Won (Korea) with 1:2 in the deciding game. Despite his young age, the 1997 born Slovenian Zerg player is already an experienced player, as he competed in WarCraft III and StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty before.
"We are very happy to welcome Starbuck in our team. He is one of the most promising European players and he has show his potential in the last WCS seasons as well as in the ESL Euro Series. With his talent, his ambition and his unique play style, he will be a great addition to our roster. We are looking forward to work with him and lead him to the next level", said mousesports StarCraft II Head Coordinator Markus "mouz MaX" Kemper.
Statement Matic "mouz Starbuck" Dejak: "I felt very happy and honored when mousesports contacted me and offered me a spot in their StarCraft II roster. I am always trying to compete and win on the highest level and one of my goals was to play on a powerhouse team such as mousesports one day. My wish came true and I want to thank mousesports and the sponsors BenQ, EpicGear and XMG for giving me this opportunity and I promise I will do my best to represent the team in the best way possible.
My goal for the upcoming season are to further develop my skills and to attend bigger tournaments where I want to make some deep runs into the tournament bracket. I hope you will enjoy my games and that I can entertain you with some of my special tactics. I'd also like to thank my former team MiA for all of their support thus far and wish them all the best in the future."
Nice happy for Starbuck and Mouz, this is a great pairing. Good zerg, very smart player and unorthodox as well! Really enjoy watching Starbuck's playstyle.
Great pickup! Starbuck really is really showing an excellent level of play these times and I'm really happy to see Mouz investing not into another Korean, but in a young European player. Hopefully he will continue to improve quickly.
rly rly nice strong european, THATS what i want as pickups for mouz ^^ no na no asia or such stuff, a good old european heart is needed in an german/european team
Big congrats to Starbuck, you have impressed a lot of people (including me!) since last year! Even bigger congrats to Mousesports, take good care of this gem. We want to see more special tactics in the future!
Great pickup for Mouz and grats to Starbuck! He's such an entertaining player since you never know what he'll do, and his overall level of play is constantly improving! Can't wait to see what the future holds for him!
Saw him playing a turtling airtoss once in the qualifiers for WCS-EU, he had a strat where he controlled+yanked their superduper units to kill more superduper units. Was a long game, but really fun to watch.
Many victories probably online, but still. Dear ? Scarlett ? Wow. Will pay a bit more attention to him in the future for sure !
Indeed. He's been good for a while now, all he needs are more chances of proving it, and being signed by mouz should certainly be very helpful to him in that regard.

Sweet, would have loved to see that! Wish I could have that kind of control.
Well I remember him defeating Genius 2:1 with the craziest of craziest of builds.. one was 2 base nydus SH, and the second one something with Drones.. Won't tell more about it though
Gratz man, more like gratz for both - the team and Starbuck.. A really dynamic Zerg player.. Love it

So neat. He 14 pooled and used the extractor to stack his drones into seemingly one unit, faked an expansion and pretended to 'scout'. When the drones arrived, it was quite the surprise for the ceremonious Genius.
Starbuck is super exciting to watch. Very excited for his future. Grats to him!
Check out a player spotlight I did for him, and give me your feedback!
