FireCake is joining our roster from today and we will ensure that this player will have an amazing year 2014 at PunchLine!.
We are very happy to welcome FireCake to the team. He has been one of the best French player and also one of the best European Zerg for one year and has developed a very intelligent way of gaming. Be ensured that we will bring him closer to the fans.
FireCake: I have played for more than two years as a Zerg player. Most people know me thanks to my very long and very dynamic playstyle with my dear swarm hosts.
Punchline's newser: Why have you chosen Punchline? What do you expect from your new club for your future?
FireCake: Stabillo offered me to join Punchline few weeks ago. The team has a very good ambition to build an attractive and solid team from France based on formation and French players to reach the top of the scene. I think this experience will be very funny all the more as the atmosphere is very cool in the team.
Punchline's newser: You reached Europe WCS Ro32 twice and won the 2nd UnderDogs (French tournament). What is your analysis about the past year and 2014?
FireCake: I am quite happy about my achievements. I hope I will win another edition of UnderDogs, then I need to qualify in Premier League again and maybe I can reach Europe WCS Ro16 in the future!
Punchline's newser: What are your expectations about other competitions?
FireCake: I will train a lot to win one more UnderDogs and have good results to the French LAN and Dreamhacks. About the clan-wars, we will represent France in the Acer TeamStory Cup tomorrow faced to ROOT and then maybe against Evil Geniuses. It will be amazing !
Stabillo's statement, manager of Punchline ESC: + Show Spoiler +
"We have worked for months to make this transfer real. We convinced FireCake that we are able to build such a great team in France with him and that's why he decided to take the risk to leave his past team to join us. I discovered a very intelligent player and a man full of values by talking to him. Besides, all our players are truly happy to welcome him."
I am very happy to welcome in our very cool team. He will be a wonderful asset for our line-up: excellent, creative and able to do great things to win. We now have a strong team with him and will live a very good adventure. Let's hope we'll become the best together !
This new player, used to Premier League, will bring his experience to the team.
Punchline continues its idea to develop a very good team in Europe thanks to a 100% French squad and will fight tomorrow in Acer Teamstory Cup's qualifier to represent France.
nice to see a french team growing stronger, although i am a little worried about firecake's current state of mind. hopefully he has worked it all out and gets some good results!
"[...]and has developed a very intelligent way of gaming" well that is one way to put it xD I hope Firecake stops being so bad mannered on his new team.. anyways good luck!
We convinced FireCake that we are able to build such a great team in France with him and that's why he decided to take the risk to leave his past team to join us.
Making it sound like FireCake left Vega voluntarily lol.

Plot twist, what if he said those nasty things so he could leave Vega and join this team?

Oh, I didn't read that part - lol! Thank you, made me laugh a little :D

lmao its funny when you see his picture and imagine all the trash he talks its hard not to laugh...especially wishing people cancer? that's nothing to joke about, good job ruining "punchlines" reputation, if it had any to begin with...don't care for teams who promote this crap
Come on now, let's not spam this. I get that he's bm and I've been mad at him for some things I saw, but if he's joining another team that's another chance to be known for his play instead of his behavior... I don't see a good reason to take that away from him.
I'm almost feeling a bit bad for the guy. Sure he is BM, but there have been other pro players who were pretty douchey, even besides IdrA. And he is even a legit player, his games against Strelok in Challenger were pretty good, non mass SH games. Maybe we shouldn't be too hard on him.
Firecake is biggest hero. His apm and strategies are bouse. I like him because he shows me all these cool ways to transition into people to losing such as bming and manner pausing inbetween engagement so opponent cannot micro. TRuly a European hero.

Yeah, not like AM heroes such as IdrA who show great sportsmanship instead of tilting :/
first time i feel bad for a team when they got a new player ... to be honest, this even is really bad pr for the team, because right know firecake is really hated by the community. no excuse no sorry nothing just making like he did and then this team will look bad when he will flame again some people
i really hope he grows up and stop doing that, then he is an amazing (but still super boring) zerg
I didn't know Punchline untile today. Now i know who to dislike. This player is a joke. Lots of BM players said bad things.... but they won stuff. This guy is laughable.

Quite weird to be as fond of the SC2 scene as you and not knowing Pline, even if their players aren't the most manners, they still are the 3rd best team in France after Millenium and Nuit Blanche.

I didn't say i was really fond of SC2 scene. Where did you get that ? I only watch proleague and shoutcraft clan wars for SC2. I know Nuit blanche by name only. Never heard of Punchline though. But i don't follow French proscene so i don't say they are irrelevant or anything. I just don't know them
I just know Firecake, saw what he did, wrote etc... i don't know any of the Pline players so i can't comment on them (and won't).
EDIT : wow my sentence didn't mean anything at all lol. Maybe that's why you misunderstood I wasn't talking about the other Punchline players. I was talkin BM players in general.

I thought you were more into SC2 pro-scene since some of your article where really complete. Anyway, sorry for the misunderstanding.
These small team announcement threads rarely fail to deliver.
My favourite part is how nebbish FireCake look. I mean seriously, just look at him, he looks exactly like someone who plays a barcode account while doing pretty uninspired BM.
Well...something must be wrong if these two fine people post like this. I am enjoying this thread...oh and btw nice to know there is a Team called PunchLine!
We convinced FireCake that we are able to build such a great team in France with him and that's why he decided to take the risk to leave his past team to join us.
Making it sound like FireCake left Vega voluntarily lol.
Except he did lol And Vega made it sound like they released him because he was BM and they were upstanding. They never actually said "We released Firecake because he has a bad behaviour" they said "Firecake is no longer part of our team because obvious reasons" giving people a false hint.
Source : - Common sense : why Vega didn't fire him earlier. - Firecake statement (see the French Interview).
"As the result of my misconduct with Harstem, my manager- whom I need to trust - publicly gave away which barcode I used, disrepecting his commitment. This is why I left. I felt betrayed. I didn't talk about it,since in the end, it would be my word against theirs. One thing is for certain, had I really been fired from Vega, they would have announced it clearly, with no fear of me bringing out proofs, and without any innuendo. A few minutes before the annoucement of my departure by Vega, they were still chatting with me and offering to sign a new contract if I stayed on the team"
I won't BM them for Bming Firecake though but just want to fix the truth here.
I think it is a great pick-up for Punchline and I think it is good for Firecake too.
PS : I know the new trend amongst progamer is patchworking screenshots of Firecake's barcode oncology drafts, but seriously Snute, you are above that.
i remember those old days on antiga shipyard, like 2 years ago, this kid was raging like mad, telling me about how he is the best french player after stephano and he cannot lose a guy like me i mean everyone can rage sometimes, but this guy was above a level with that.
pff at feeling betrayed, such a coward move, flaming behind barcode account. (+laughing at the picture)

Not like they used to be a low-tier french team and they almost won against Root a few hours ago. Plus Firecake has the weakness of loving to be an ass on his barcode, but that being said, he is really lovely IRL and mannered during broadcasted tournaments.

Cake is a random BM GM. idrA was good and besides the fact of being BM (not the same kind of BM btw), used to say stuff on the game (with his personality ofc). Not really comparable.

why? Not like he'll not go along well with their manager and some of their players ?
Why do you say that. Are they not nice ? Had contact with their manager. He felt mannered for me.
stabillo is... special, managed to organize a cheating contest in a former french league, tries to poach players all the time etc... :D
Oh that was him with the maphacking tournament ? Didn't remembered that.
Nope, he just made the mistake to use a stronger player which wasn't on his team playing on his account more than 2 years ago. But you know, once you make a mistake, it's kinda hard for people to forget. It wasn't even in Punchline, but in a team called WarBringer. :p And like it's not natural debauch players from other teams lol. It's the most casual aspect in every low tiers team. Even your team, Nuit Blanche, did "steal" players from pLine fyi. But it's the game, that's how it works and being grudgy about that won't change a thing.

Was talking to Imre ^^
You quoted me :p
Yeah I wanted to make things clear for you, but the second paragraph was addressed to Imre, my bad for not being clear enough.
