A duo of Protoss players made their way into the WCS Europe quarterfinals, evening out the race balance at two per faction.
mYi.StarDust advanced from his group in the #1 spot, becoming the first Korean player to do so after MMA and jjakji were forced to advance in second place on the two previous days. Defeating both Liquid`TLO and Mill.BabyKnight by 2-0 scores, StarDust joined VortiX in advancing to the quarterfinals with a perfect record. StarDust's final game against BabyKnight summed up how it was a night where everything just ended up going his way -- the Danish Protoss botched his scout and 4-gated the wrong base, handing StarDust an easy ticket to the quarterfinals.
Finland'sNrS.Welmu would be the other player to escape the group and reach the round-of-eight. Initially, he failed to live up to the hype of his all-kill over team Bounty Hunters from the weekend, losing 0-2 to BabyKnight in his first series. However, Welmu climbed up from the loser's bracket with a narrow 2-1 win over TLO to earn a rematch with BabyKnight in the final match. Despite dropping yet another game to BabyKnight to start, Welmu was able to rally back to win the series 2-1 and clinch a quarterfinals spot.
I`m really happy for Welmu, after all-killed Bounty Hunters he was in a hot streak, loosing to BBK first game was bad for him, but he keep calm and take the second spot :D! good for him :D
