It's an amazing achivement and I can't for the life of me understand how he did it, when I was 12 I could barely operate a computer.
I think its really disgusting that so many people are bashing him here, just because he did something most people never could achive its not a valid excuse to bash him.

Years ago there was a swedish kid in their national BroodWar B team, who was killing most of the good foreigners out there... and the kid was 9 years old. Do you remember his nick?
The other such case is uT)Sorsy who at 11 years old was among the best zerg foreigners in 2003-4

Not to say this isn't true, but is there a way to prove there has been nobody younger to do this?
PS: congrats

This is my whole point, where are these people you say are bashing Reynor? I can't find anyone.
You're not the first poster in this thread to say something along the lines of "why the hate?" and eventually this creates the impression that there is hate when there isn't. The only time hate or bashing or jealousy is mentioned is when people are calling out these imaginary people out!

Also questioning if he is first to make grandmaster (youngest player ever) is no hate either. Reasonable questioning. Its still a good achievement being so young, so congratulations!

Wow, respect to this guy. But don't neglect school
|
I don't know how it is in Europe, but I've never felt school needed much attention in my spare time back when I was 11-12 years old in the US. I was doing homework at school and spend night time playing around or pretending to study just to placate my parents. Barely studied for any tests. Still got mostly As with some Bs mixed. But then again, American education system and all, so take it fwiw.
At least in the US, it's only high school when things start becoming serious if you want to go the academic route. You know, if you want to get into the top colleges and all that jazz.
I'd just want him to have fun. And quite frankly, I think his tournament experience and just general interactions with adults and businesses may be more useful than just studying. As long as he can handle it emotionally and it doesn't overwhelm him, I'd say go for it.

but pretty sure that a 10 year old, with the right coaching (meaning quite minimal), can get to GM bitbybit-style rather quickly.

Life was the youngest GSL champion at age 15. This is seriously impressive.

What a cute little bugger that guy is. Young players doing well have huge potential as well. I feel so old. Which I am.

I agree. It's just to get another good foreigner some publicity, so I guess that's better than nothing ^^
Let's see how he measures up against some real pro-gamers in tournaments

I think it's possible if some unknown Korean kid got gm earlier. However, that Italian kid may be the first foreigner. Who knows.

FlaSh's BW background is far more impressive though.
Biography[edit]
Flash came on to the Brood War scene as one of the youngest progamers to be televised at 14 years old, in 2007. His popularity skyrocketed when he won the 2008 Bacchus OSL at age 15, crushing Stork 3-0 in the finals.
During his Brood War career, Flash was known for being one of the best and most dominant players in the history of the game, winning six Starleagues throughout his illustrious career (four in one year as well as the OSL/MSL in the same season). At the 2012 MLG Spring Pro Circuit, Flash won the KeSPA Exhibition Tournament by beating Bisu 2-0 in the finals in dominant fashion.

Speaking of prodigies, how about TY?
"BaBy started off playing StarCraft at a very young age. Before he was 9, he entered the HanbitSoft King of the Star Contest and ended up finishing in second place. The following year, he entered the same contest, finishing 4th. After playing in the Elite School League, BaBy was picked up by WeMade FOX at the tender age of 12 to join their Terran line."
