are assuming in the midst of looking for a foreign team reality and turn are gonna compete in LSL3? I'm excited for that prospect but also find it somewhat unlikely.
On November 13 2014 15:39 hansonslee wrote: So many KeSPA players leaving for foreign teams
I somehow doubt the veracity of this. KeSPA players who are practically unknown in the foreign scene like TurN and barely known ones like Reality can't possibly think they have a good shot of signing a "real" contract with a foreign team (where they'll fly them to events and stuff). Maybe three years ago when it was very rare for a Korean to leave Korea to play abroad, but not right now. I feel like "they're looking for a foreign team" is these days just code for "we didn't re-sign them and no other KeSPA team wants them" except for big stars like Rain and PartinG.
Samsung's definitely weaker without RorO but if Dear plays well they should still contend for playoffs.
That's a shame, I always thought Roro had potential in him to achieve even more and was somehow still underrated(!)
Roro finished this last Proleague as the zerg with the highest winning ratio and 3rd highest overall (with >10 games played), barely behind only Rain and sOs.

Samsung gonna struggle without RorO. When did they pick up BravO? I assumed he was retiring.
RorO has not been releveant to anything high level starcraft since like forever. Solar emerged as the new generation Zerg for Khan and does a good, some might say even better job than RorO.
The samsung lineup lost depth, but not somebody who is irreplaceable.

RorO was easily their best player in PL last year. Solar has surpassed him now but RorO would have most likely been their second strongest PL player still. Not really just a loss of depth i would say.(PL wise)
Looking for foreign teams? There are so many ppl looking for them right now. Also, when it came to sending players to outside jobs (ie events outside Korea) Samsung was probably the best Korean team in that regard :S
Stork please dont you ever dare to retire! almost got a heart attack when I read the coach part but I am so relieved he is going to play in 2015. Damn my old boys getting too old. Stork has been playing since 2004 in samsung and still going,is that dedication or what?
Sad about Reality leaving RorO retiring was to be expected, he has been a ghost since last season of PL ended. At least they got Bravo who is probably about as good as Reality.
Also does them announcing their SPL roster completely outrule the possibility of picking up other players? Not too familiar in the terminology
No Roro = no hope, no life, no light. All is darkness and all shall come to ruin. A thousand mad TL writers will dance on the grave of humanity's greatest hope. This is the end for me, I shall face one las sunrise and burn in the obliterating rays of fire.
Hey guys, re-read the Stork/Flash interview, Stork was explaining how it was wierd for him to not only be the oldest but also to have teh second oldest in the team being 2+ years younger than him.
This change is good, it's much better than simply retiring, and I'm pretty sure he'll be an excellent coach cause he seems to have human relationship skills to get the better of his players.
JEEZUZZZ! God damned Kespa jail! Seriously, when everyone is trying to save this game by growing the scene, encouraging new teams in PL, encouraging new tournaments, encouraging korean players to go abroad and expand their careers, Kespa seems to be doing everything it can to keep its dictatorship alive inside its own 8x10 prison cell. Listen to negativeedge, SC is NOT the dominant esport anymore, it is struggling to stay afloat! If you put stuff like this on the map it only helps people retire faster or switch faster to LoL/Dota2! And the icing on the cake is Rain and fantasy, having played more than 5 years at that team and STILL tied to that team because they were not free agents before? That is some serious bull, especially since most players in KR were moving through direct team transfers, not leaving team as free agent then joining another team. Kespa needs to seriously get a reality check........they are stopping this game from growing..... Also 5 years, when the full life of a progamer at the top (proleague) level can sometimes be below that? utter nonsense

Dude... I agree on that 5 years requirement, it's stupid, but saying that Kespa is stopping Starcraft 2 from growing is a bit ( a lot ) exaggerated, i feel like they have been doing a lot for SC2 in the past couple months.
Damn, anyone retiring is usually sad but especially a former GSL champion, good luck to RorO. Samsung's roster is still strong though and has potential if Solar and Armani keep improving. Also if Dear returns to even half of his championship winning form then its good enough for PL. Thank goodness Stork hasn't retired from playing, we still need him

That's the problem there is no little domination by the koreans. They mostly crush everyone, so it's not wealthy for the game cause its killing diversity. But koreans are the only ones (with fews foreigners) who can step up the game so often, having incredible games to watch and learn.
Shame about RorO despite how much TL isn't much of a fan of him it is a blow to the scene and two more players leaving adds to the wound. Not certain where Reality and TurN will find foreign teams they aren't exactly overflowing with money lately and I suspect they may switch to BW instead. Good to see Stork is still in it at least.
What a shame, i wanted to build my team around RorO and sOs again, salt.
Dammit, Samsung, now you have only Solar, Dear and Stork who is half-coach, that's kinda bad. Well, there is Hurricane, but no second Zerg, 3 mid-tier Protosses and no Terran sucks. Free playoffs for CJ Entus now.
RorO retires? But who will I put on my FPL anti-team now?
Looking at this line-up, Samsung are really weak right now. Not Prime weak but weak nonetheless. CJ, KT and JAGW now all have a free pass to the play-offs.
I hope Samsung picks up another terran for next season of proleague (especially if it goes back to bo7, fingers crossed), or they'll have a hard time, just like this season. Dear, Stork, Solar, Armani/BrAvO isn't exactly the best of lineups. Should lose to Life, Bomber, San, Has, for example.
I liked him! contrary to most of you, he gave me quite a good time a FPL. He had no results in individual leagues but was quite good on PL... shame he retires
Sad to see RorO leave before stork. I was just getting excited about samsung in proleague this year with how Shine and Solar have been playing in qualifiers and stuff.
god hope reality finds a good team he is my FAVORITE terran or maybe even broodwar player by far far far !!!! sad about roro got a WCS cardgame for autographs and roro part of it xD seems this autograph will be missing xD

Wait, really? I don't follow LoL news much, but didn't Samsung win LCS?
Their teams were top-1 and top-2 teams in Korea, and one of them won World Championship. Now all 10 members are gone.
Was there a reason behind this?
Well, I'm not sure, but as far as Korean LoL goes Samsung wasn't the only one that suffered, almost every KeSPA(Korean) LoL team lost atleast 3 of their members. From what I've heard, lot of players want to move to Chinese scene.
I mean they have 3 heavy hitters Dear, Solar, and Stork. Then they have 2 zergs who are good to snipe people shine and armani. They will be a mid tier team at best then again thats what we said about KT Rolster!
Also if his level in Code A last year was any indication, BrAvO is a good Terran. I actually was more impressed with his games than Reality's overall, it's just he never got sent out in SPL because of SKT's insane lineup.
Since WJS folded I was rooting for Samsung the last season had glimmers of hope but this one will be a tearjerker if they can't sign coaches and some players : /
Glad Roro gone. He abused gglords and winfestors to win the gsl, at the cost of sc2 becoming boring to watch, and then faded into obscurity once such anti skill tactics got rightfully nerfed into the ground. he briefly made a resurgence by abusing swarmhosts, but luckily anti skill tactics like that got nerfed too. Now there are just good zerg players left in GSL

You need to spend an hour watching his games before making such absurd and ignorant statements.

I despise(d) Roro for winning the GSL that I always felt Life should have won and I didn't always particularly enjoy his games, but I'd never gloat over a player retiring (most likely because he doesn't feel there's enough opportunity for him anymore) or call a GSL champion "anti skill" or "abusive" in an attempt to discredit his achievements. There's a line of basic respect here.

RorO was a very good player. Accusing him of abusing winfestor deathballs in WoL is meaningless--every Zerg did. Even Life who did it probably less than everyone else doesn't beat Mvp in the finals without it. And yes, he eventually became one of the few heavy swarm host users in Korea, but he didn't need them to play at top levels. In honor of his retirement, here's my favorite RorO game--against PartinG on Whirlwind in the WCS Korea 2013 Season 1 Placement Matches, which is probably on my shortlist of best PvZs of all time (and not a swarm host or brood lord in sight):

It feels like Life should win every GSL. But getting beaten out by his rival PartinG was also a fitting story I guess?
Reality and Turn (Turn especially) have another thing coming if they're looking for foreign teams unfortunately. They don't have the marketability of Rain or Fantasy and neither of them have been successful in finding a new home yet.

Oh yeah shit. Well either way their prospects look grim imo
