At least I hope, Rotti will not join the celebrations of other casters about the new great WCS system, after his idol retired.

More retirements expected. Oh, sorry, you are right, Flash, MMA, Rain, the others in the next 2 weeks, they of course retire because of medical reasons. Or because of old age. User was warned for this post

This particular retirement is because of the operation Rain went through to donate part of his liver. He is physically incapable to continuing, it has nothing to do with the new WCS system.

Let's see what you do after you donate part of your liver. MMA and Flash were retirements that are not surprising either. gg Rain, always respected you a lot!

Rain came to the reporter seat after the ceremony was over and talked about his retirement. He said that donating part of his liver required him to rest for a bit, and made it difficult for him to play games. Rain has thought of retirement since he has left SKT1, but chose to postpone it for a year. Rain became the Ongamenet Starleague champion in 2012 after beating DRG in the finals. He has also achieved second place in 2013 WCS Korea Season 2 Starleague, and became a GSL champion in 2015 GSL Season 2 after beating ByuL. There are only 2 other players who have won 2 Korean Starcraft 2 Starleagues: Classic and Maru. However, Rain needed a long period of rest after donating a part of his liver to his father, and made his decision on the day his good friend, Flash, left the scene as well. It was truly an end fitting for the 3 Musketeers. "Thank you for my fans, who have loved me throughout my career." note: The 3 musketeers bit is not literal. 도원결의 comes from "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", which is like a fantasized book based on a period of Chinese history and is very famous in China, Korea, and Japan. Kinda like Star Wars as to the fandom because people who know it go really, really deep into it, and there are some casuals like me. I recall someone asking for translation for it on Seeker's thread so if he/she is watching... No mention of 1st place in 2012 WCS Asia? Or 1st place in 2013 Hot6ix Cup? Rain career achievements (including the ones not mentioned in OP): 1st place 2012 OSL Season 1 1st place 2015 GSL Season 3 1st place 2012 WCS Asia 1st place 2013 Hot6ix Cup 1st place HomeStory Cup XI 2nd place 2013 OSL Season 2 2nd place IEM VIII San Jose 3-4th place 2012 Blizzcon 3-4th place 2012 GSL Season 4 3-4th place 2014 GSL Season 1 3-4th place 2015 SSL Season 3 3-4th place IEM VIII Cologne - #1 2014 Proleague individual win percentage at 68% (21-10, 4-1 in ace matches) - #3 2013 Proleague individual record by wins at 36-22 (behind only Flash and INnoVation) - Perfect 5-0 record in 2014 Proleague Playoffs (wins over Hush, Hydra, Bbyong, herO, Zest) including ace match win vs herO in game 7 to send SKT to finals - Finals of each of the ONLY 2 OnGameNet Starleagues in SC2 - Reached semifinals or finals of 6(!) SC2 Starleagues (GSL 3 times, OSL 2 times, SSL) - Above 68% all-time win rate in PvT and PvZ according to Aligulac (almost all composed of GSL and Proleague matches) - Aligulac rating of 1735 or higher since Oct. 3, 2012 - longest streak of any SC2 player (that competed in Proleague) All I could think of at the moment, if anyone else thinks of more please post it! EDIT: Rain won 2015 GSL Season 2, not Season 3.
