Team Liquid Power Rank Proves to be Accurate on Day 2
Unpredictability on Day 2 of WCS Global Finals
The second day of WCS Global Finals concluded with a bang, proving once again that no surprise is too big for BlizzCon.
In Group C, the foreigner hype train was picking up even more speed, with ShoWTimE's 2-0 result against Dear arguably providing the first upset of the day. On the flip side of the coin, in the most anti-upset ever seen in the history of the game, ByuN took down viOLet in such quick matches that even the One Man Army himself seemed perplexed. For a brief moment, viOLet seemed to bounce back, but he was eliminated from the tournament, going 1-2 against Dear in the Losers Match.
Group D was great news for Terran fans across the globe, as TY took down Nerchio. Miraculously the mantle of foreign hope was passed on to Elazer, who defeated the five-time premier champion Solar in what's surely to be one of the most memorable upsets of the tournament. Not willing to let go of his share, Nerchio then in turn went 2-1 against Solar in the Losers Match. In the end, both Polish Zerg players are still in the tournament, and Solar's run has ended.
Tomorrow, we'll continue the Round of 16 with all four Winners Matches. The winners will make it to the quarterfinals, while the losers will be relegated to the Decider Matches on Sunday, with one more chance to advance.
