After a week of quarterfinal games, only four players remain to contend for the GSL Code S championship. Reigning champion Maru will take on Classic, who is possibly his most dangerous opponent yet. Classic previously eliminated Maru 3-1 from April's GSL Super Tournament. In the other semifinal match, ex-KT Rolster teammates TY and Zest face off in Code S finals rematch from Season 1 in 2016 (Zest won 4-2).
The semifinals will begin with Zest vs TY on Wednesday, Jun 13 9:30am GMT (GMT+00:00) while Maru vs Classic will be played on Saturday, Jun 16 4:00am GMT (GMT+00:00).
Man I can't believe GuMiho lost. It seemed like just before the massive break in game 2 he was ahead and about to win, but when they started again, he lost. His play was so much more exciting! I think Zest may win GSL again.

Been watching the forums for quite some time, only now decided to jump in Good job with the writeups, good reads during boring lectures

Maru has to play in the asian games regional qualifier this week. GSL being nice guys rearranged the scedule
Should be excellent, I think classic is gonna win it. I feel his PvT is sooo good and Zest/TY I think TY with the time given to practice I think he'll win a close match but I think he can do it via his control and not losing too much while finding damage on Zest.
Should be interesting to see what Maru and the Jin Air P's can come up with against Classic in a bo7. TY hasn't be reverse-swept in a major tournament in a while that I can remember so that'll probably happen.

Doubt it. Even if it is I doubt it's worth watching, Maru vs a couple C tier pros will be over in 10 minutes

His biggest hurdle is TY. If he gets past him, I think Zest will shock everyone and win this season should he meet Classic in the finals which is the likely scenario. Classic is top 5 PvP ever in my book, but even so, Zest is the best. One of his defining attributes is his PvP and he has a solid record against Classic.

Hmm, that's weirdly plausible. I've pretty much counted Zest as the underdog to win it, but you make some good points. I'd still favor Classic considering his current form vs. Zest's, but thinking about it Zest's chances may be about the same as TY's. Those mirror match-up finals especially could be anyone's.
(OTOH, if Maru takes out Classic, I think Zest would have little hope; and if Classic takes out Maru, I think TY would have little hope.)
I am a huge TY fan, but I have to be honest - Gumiho played slightly better and deserved to win that fight. Sorry for the Gumi fans. But may be fate could be rewarding sometimes because many times TY was in the same losser possition while playing brilliantly most of the time. In the same time I am a bit of shocked how Classic has taken the role of the villain and less fan favorite. May be he is not the most handsome and charismatic guy, but he is really damn scary right now. The way he takes perfect possition on the new maps is on god level which really takes the huge advantage of terrain aggression

In the 3 games TY won, he played a bit better. In the 2 TY lost, GuMiho played much better And in sum, TY won. GuMiho played really well too and it's sad he's out but I feel like it unfairly discredits TY if you say he won despite playing worse.

Classic is the best PvT player in my book and by far. In the past Maru's PvT wasn't the best MU it used to be so I wouldn't bet on it. Both of them can prepare really well so we should see a really good series either way

Very, very unlikely. There is almost 0 chance that Classic is going to lose a PvT best of 7. That is going to be a stomp. And I would favor Zest vs TY but that will be a very close call.
Sorry but.....everybody think Classic will easily beat Maru... is it important to say that Maru is nowadays the best player in the world ? .... and i will point that this is going to be played over Marauder's update, OK for Classic and his PvT, probably the best in the world but .... MARU !! is in front of him....MARU.

Seem like fate is back, Gumi was outplayed by SOS in group stage, but go first.
Yeah. Maru is strong, with his TvP. But let's not forget that Classic had already beaten Maru twice, both when he had his good form and when he had a bad form (both in Super Tournament played bad but Maru had it worse). He had defeated 3 of the 4 horsemen of Terran (TY, ByuN, and Maru) in all of the Premier tournaments this year. Only dropped a few maps but hasn't lost a series yet. Makes sense for a 100% PvT win-rate this year.
Classic doesn't use any special kind of tricks. He's about being really aware and mechanical. His controls are also very good. He understands the matchup really well. He understand of how PvT works. Taking 1 map or so is a start for any Terran who were able to fight Classic. His reaction to drops, even holding the cheeses, this is why I like the Chintoss. Still, let's see if Classic's God-mode PvT will show weakness on the weekend.
