Would love to see MMA and soO, though since the latter hasn't been to an HSC before, I guess it's not that likely that he'll show up.

But still, I`d like to see him there. One of the nicest sc2 personality imho

Obviously Ben isn't going to win the thing anymore, but he is competitive enough to be invited there as a player.

Yeah but TLO never went 0-4 in Ro34 at Homestory Cup and actually manages to get to Ro16 quite often.

HomeStory Cup doesn't need marketing. People go to the event for the environment more than for top tier Starcraft. But having some top koreans is what adds some extra spice to the tournament. Also its a rare opportunity for lower tiered foreigners to upset some koreans. Iam just worried we are running out of time.

First of all my HomeStoryCups in terms of responsible for invites always had good to insane lineups with a few exceptions that werr a bit weaker. Secondly it is not always easy to gather all superstars and HSC isnt the GSL code S. Most of the time though we have Europes superstars and iirc last time had multiple GSL champions. I agree that we are late on announcements but the way you put it makes it really easy for you too. As example I just confirmed 2 players a day ago and not due to me being lazy but many declines; issues with people being able to go OR cancelling for private reasons. You cannot name a Single HSC in the past years with a bad lineup. To give you some Inside: Trap was invited and cant make it Special cant make it Serral cant make it Neeb cant make it Showtime cant make it Along with other issues. Our lineup will have multiple GSL champions and some of the best players that ever touched starcraft alongside fan favorites from the sc2 and broodwar era. Furthermore I decided to help smaller talent whoare still good to come and cover costs even though this is over our budget already and we do not have a mainpartner resulting in a 10000$ prizepool. So yes; we are a bit late with announcing superstars or in general but do not fear; the lineup is still very strong

Dont get angry at some random dude that only made three posts on TL until now The line up nearly never disappointed for years now. Really looking forward.

Btw, would it be possible to let us donate towards the prize pool during the 4 days of HSC? I'm sure we can add a few thousand! Edit: Also it's very disapppointing that HSC seemingly gets no support from the Warchest money.

You donate 10$ - we obviously need to pay taxes for it. So 40% or so (I am no tax guy) is already gone - then we increase prize pool and pay the players - they pay taxes obviously as well. So increasing prize-pool via donations usually isn't super good

Taxes kill prize pool funding. Can we talk about cryptocurrencies and other strategies to make HSC worthwhile for players? The amount of donations before was incredible because of how it measured the community's support and love. I'm sure this community also has people with expertise and skill sets as well that can contribute to keeping HSC alive and even growing. For example, PM the organizers to offer free labor to help build up a crypto prize pool, offer to be the no-name that informs players of un-official incentives, offer private non-taxable gifts to the prize pool, etc. Starcraft players are intelligent and so are Starcraft fans. This is my small contribution, a gamble that these words lead to a little more sweat or creativity that leads to a big return on the end product of this HSC. The hard line for Starcraft, as I see it, if we never want it to be a ded-game, is that there is never a decline. If a tournament's prize pool, lineup, audience numbers stay the same, each following year, okay, but we can never let it decline, or it might be a slippery slope to ded-game.

Its not as easy as you make it sound would be the first step. I don't want to blow off everything you say but you are also making your life too easy. Who is telling you that there are no Koreans coming? I am the person in charge for invites and lets look at the past HSCs , shall we? 16: Patience, Stats, Zest, aLive, MMA, Impact, Solar, jjakji 15: Zest, ByuN, GuMiHo 14: Stats, Zest, Patience, MC (cancelled due to Kongdoo LoL), sOs, TY, aLive, Solar, Rogue 13: TruE (iirc, this was a GSL date - conflict and most of them could not attend) 12: MC, MMA, TOP, HyuN, ByuN & Reality cancelled. 11: PartinG, Rain, Patience, GuMiHo, Ryung, HyuN, Jaedong, Sacsri As you can see, in general we always have Koreans and the only reason for more or less Koreans is a) budget b) teams not willing to send players or c) schedule conflict. I don't know what you base your opinion of not having Koreans at HSC base on but I already confirmed: soO, MMA; Zest, INnoVation for example.

Pretty sure you legally still have to pay taxes on income generated from crypto. Or are you saying they should evade taxes that way because it's easier
