He did exactly that for the past two ro32s but managed to make it out. That being said he didn't look the the god he was in the playoffs

I think he will have been a bit lazy, but actually I'm guessing he'll have been slightly less lazy than last time. I think it's a calculation of what he can get away with so that he can have a little "downtime" that lets him recharge for god mode in the playoffs.

I think mma would have a better shot vs Maru than forte (not that he would be likely to win) mma has evolved into a very smart Terran who might be able to pull some wins vs Maru using odd build choices. I think of forte as a more straight forward mechanicle player and since Maru outclasses almost evrey Terran player mechanicly while also having good decision making and builds it would make sense he want to play against some one with a bit more predictable aproach to the game.

What great chain of strong showings by these players from before the groups were announced did I miss to suggest Maru wouldn't crush them? Easy to say in hindsight "Maru wasn't that impressive" or "Reynor was incredible in group A". But before the groups were revealed?

Easy to say in hindsight "Maru wasn't that impressive" or "Reynor was incredible in group A". But before the groups were revealed? Maru would probably crush anyone, but in terms of who is the weakest of the tier 3 players, Forte is the obvious one. Or MMA I guess. Ragnarok has apparently been doing really well on the ladder recently, SpeCial was obviously very good last year and did well in all the WCS events. Even Reynor looked decent at WeSG and has been practicing with a lot of the top koreans, they seem to have a lot of respect for him. I doubt Maru would even consider picking PartinG given what his PvT usually entails and much of a wildcard he is.
